  1. I found a used car website that is listing BMWs at prices that are so different that it makes me wonder if there is something fishy about the lower price ones. Is there anything going on like for big bikes that some cars have been imported but not registered or something like that? Like they are cheaper because they don't have a license plate yet? In the link below there is a 2010 model at 1.8M and an identical 2008 model at 2.1M. That is 300000 more expensive for a car that is 2 years older. What is going on?

  2. Hi, I often need to order boxes of coke to be delivered to the door. Does anyone know the phone number of Coca Cola's sales department for Chiang Mai? I mean the number you'd call if you were running a restaurant and selling bottles of coke. Thanks!

Bangkok. Chon Buri Chiang Mai Phuket , Hat Yai. Chiang Rai Nakhon Ratchasima Khon Kaen Thailand. Lampang Hello my AIS 3G! :).

Yes, an iPhone4 can operate on 900 Mhz 3G.

    This is not a rumor.

There is going to be a big launch party tomorrow.

Bah. Unfortunately iPhone 3GS does not support 3G on 900MHz, only 850, 1900, and 2100.

Should I switch to TrueMove or keep waiting for AIS 3G on 2100MHz? I live in Chiang Mai...

  4. I tried a friend's rental and thought the experience was a bit like a big Honda Dream. Huge clunk from the gearbox when changing into 1st, and the engine sounded similar to a Dream when revved, too. I sold my Ninja some months ago but would pay the premium if I had to buy another 250cc.

  5. I manage a small office, but we still manage to get through two boxes of Birdy per week and about a box of Coke.

Can anyone recommend a company that will deliver boxes of Birdy and Coke to my office here in the Nimanhemin area on a regular basis (or by calling them up and ordering)?

    Cheers!

  6. I have passed those checkpoints a decent number of times on a few trips up north.. and I have never been stopped. I didn't have a number plate on my bike in july and from what I understood - the police could not have bothered less.

It might be that I don't have enough experience in this matter though.

Lets wait for one of the locals to answer - or else you might ask your question on GT-riders site instead..

This is pretty much what I expected and hoped for. Passing checkpoints on my Ninja 250R with plate they didn't seem at all interested in the plate. Maybe it's just not their job to enforce license plates. I'll try heading up to Phrao on the 1001 and see how that goes :-)

  7. I live in Chiang Mai and have planned a vacation down south next month, but my lawyer will need my passport while I am gone to renew my visa. Has anyone had personal experience using identification other than a passport when checking in to domestic flights, or copy of the passport? I was thinking a Thai driver's license might do the trick?

  8. The Three-Generation Cooking and Farming Academy a bit outside of Chiang Mai stands out from the others by having an organic farm where you can gather your fresh ingredients for cooking, and apart from traditional Thai cooking, they also do a jungle cooking course. They take the traditional part seriously, using seasonal organic ingredients. The chef teacher Nid speaks excellent English and is super entertaining, plus she showed me a lot of tricks that made preparation easier (tricks for peeling and chopping each type of vegetable etc.). I think their longest course is four days, but you can probably get a longer custom course made if you are willing to pay a little extra.

  9. The first thing you need to add a blank key to your HISS enabled ECU is a special tool from Honda. Lucky that this special Honda tool is not that difficult to make yourself (okay it will be a bit less fancy, but its also a lot cheaper)

You can find the instructions on how to make the Honda HISS programming tool here

If you not to technical or don't like to connect self-made electronics to your bike you can also order the original Honda HISS tool and the part number is 07XMZ-MBW0101 (comes with more control and indication LED's)

What are the second and third things?

  10. The only ones who could do that are Honda themselves. You will have to go to a Honda motorcycle dealer, and they will have to call up Honda. Do not lose the key or else you will be in some trouble trying to get the bike started.

Thanks for the advice, I may well end up doing that. However, Nut at Piston Shop says he previously used a guy down in Bangkok to make a copy, but now he doesn't know how to contact him. So perhaps it is possible after all. I wonder how long it would take to get Honda to do it. I assume they can't do it here, as they don't have a factory or big bike dealership, right...?

If I was you, I would contact Redbaron in Bangkok – the keys are not cheap cannot remember if it was 2,000 or 3,000 anyway give Rebaron a call and you know the price exactly.

Red Baron told me that they only service members, and since I did not buy a bike from them, the membership is 10000 to sign up and 1000 yearly. So I guess I'm not doing that.

I still need to find someone who can copy the key... Any other ideas?

  11. I tried getting a key from Honda dealer here in Thailand they just stared at me.........never seen one before.

I ordered my key from here http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk they will deliver to Thailand about £25 for the blank uncut key

I'd love to know what rebarron charge for the same, blank unprogrammed uncut, if you find out let me know

If you need anything else give me a shout

Looks good, but how did you program the blank?
