I was just informed by my visa agent that the covid extension rules had " changed recently" and now getting a 30 day exemption on arrival, will require you to first apply for a 30 day extension before you can apply for a 60 day covid extension.
Anyone know anything about this?

If this peer review study is correct which covers Europe, masks are useless. https://www.cureus.com/articles/93826-correlation-between-mask-compliance-and-covid-19-outcomes-in-europe
Conclusions
While no cause-effect conclusions could be inferred from this observational analysis, the lack of negative correlations between mask usage and COVID-19 cases and deaths suggest that the widespread use of masks at a time when an effective intervention was most needed, i.e., during the strong 2020-2021 autumn-winter peak, was not able to reduce COVID-19 transmission. Moreover, the moderate positive correlation between mask usage and deaths in Western Europe also suggests that the universal use of masks may have had harmful unintended consequences.
The explanation given at https://principia-scientific.com/positive-correlation-found-between-mask-usage-and-covid-deaths/ explains the peer reviewed article quite well.
Here's a parphrasing of the principa scientific article. “The findings presented suggest that countries with high levels of mask compliance did not perform better than those with low mask usage in the six-month period that encompassed the second European wave of COVID-19,”

Indonesia and Malaysia have relaxed their outdoor mask rules, why shouldn't Thailand?

Give flyer talk a look also. In some of the threads there, there is some specific contact points to expedite the process. I was looking there a few days ago for something else and saw a contact point where a Qatar Air rep could be contacted directly. Sorry I can't remember the actual thread.

The WHO is the last non governmental body you want to listen to. If they get their way on the upcoming vote, the WHO will have sovereignty over all nations in the UN in mandating how every country needs to act in any " health emergency" that they themselves get to declare without showing any evidence.

Neil Oliver has a good piece here about this.

I've asked my current agent, as well as got a reply from another agent, but when I tell them I want some items removed on their coverage ( one of them was something about loss of a baby and I'm non a woman) while some other things I want higher coverage such as cancer, heart issues etc.
Both agents so far have only said, " can not" you must just pick a plan.
Are there any good world wide expat companies that actually have personalized programs?

I'm flying into a country that requires an RT-PCR test the day before departure. Has anyone gotten one of these here, how long was the turnaround time and the cost? Thank you for any information.

From the article that the OP linked, it appears that the quarantine is only required if one doesn’t get a pre-travel PCR test.
“International travellers who are unvaccinated or are not fully vaccinated will also no longer be required to show proof of a pre-arrival negative RT-PCR test nor undergo an arrival test.
Once arriving in Thailand, they must proceed to undergo the quarantine for 5 days and undergo an RT-PCR test on Day 5.Exception is made for unvaccinated travellers who are able to upload proof of a negative RT-PCR test within 72 hours of travel via the Thailand Pass system, they – like those fully vaccinated – will be allowed entry and are free to go anywhere in the kingdom.”
Correct, this topic is about unvaccinated travelers who now just need to show a negative pcr test within 72 hours of travel, at least that was my question. So the question remains, has anyone been able to get their thailand pass within 72 hours of travel after submitting a negative pcr test and not having been vaccinated.

Has anyone here been able to get a pcr test and their thailand pass within the required 72 hours before the flight? It would make sense to provide all info before the 72 hours and have provisional approval upon submission of the pcr test.

I've been with AXA for a number of years, but I'm looking to compare what I've been paying and receiving in benefits to other companies. Does anyone have a good broker that lists benefits side by side from the various insurance companies.
FYI, I was just quoted 58K per ( 57 yo) annum which covers just 1,500,000 per year and up to 2,500.000 for "assistance outside of TH" and 750,000K for "Medical expense occuring during the course of traveling outside Thailand".
This seems on the very high side to me after reviewing various threads here.
-
If anyone has a good agent that can issue policies from multiple companies, that would be appreciated. I've been with AXA for years, but it seems their coverage has gone down, while prices have gone up. It's time to renew, so looking for an agent that can send over some sort of comparison of all the companies they represent in a clear and concise format.

Thanks! Seems quite reasonable pricing wise.

Whatever the WHO says, it's actually the opposite. Tedros should look to retire and go back to his homeland to worry about terrorists.

What's the best option besides bitkub for Thai citizens who want to get into small holdings in crypto? Are all exchanges a pain in the <deleted> like bitkub?

Perhaps the good doctor should look at how South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Gibraltar, Israel etc. are faring with the vax rates around 90 or higher including those with boosters and forth doses. It doesn't look good to say the least.

Many thanks for that. Looking at their site it does appear that they are capable. I shall contact them soon. Thanks again
As a follow up, I contact MPP in Taiwan and they said that Aero is their distributor here, so they informed me that Aero would get back to me with a quote.

I googled for solar installers but to me they hardly seem industrially minded !! In fact I hope their installations are better than their websites. Are you aware of any good industrial installers here or could give me an insight as to where to look ?
I just happened to be looking for something similiar as yourself, but on a bit of a smaller scale. When checking various links from other threads, I came across MPP Solar and one of their projects was in Thailand. They said they worked with this company. https://www.aero-engineering.net/solar-pv Looking at their website, they might be a good option to contact.

I have no problem with someone posting "I have an xyz inverter and it's great, I got it from Somchai Solar" or "I got a pqr inverter, I'm not really happy with it as it doesn't do export very well".
This is what I was thinking, but putting it in one thread. "Solar panels zz have been great, but solar panel yy have not worked well and I have to keep replacing them".
I was thinking particularly about products and not so much contractors due to the laws here.
It might be good though if someone can state if it was a DIY, or they hired a contractor in any thread just so PM's could be exchanged in case it was a contractor install.

As I am starting to look into solar and batteries, I was wondering if there would be a way to have members who have gone this route to be able to recommend good products or services they came across, as well as any bad outcomes. Just a suggestion, but it could be helpful to have feedback as a good resource.
I have gone through a number of threads and I have seen some good info, but if there was a single thread that combined recommended products and service providers, that would be ideal for those looking into alternative energy.

I am registered in one province, but will be going on a long holiday in another province. While I am in the new province, I would like to get a new drivers license. Will the local dlt accept the immigration paperwork from another province as my registered address and let me take a test, or will I have to go to the local immigration office and change addresses. Would I need to do some sort of online update of my address before going to local immigration?
Ideally the easiest scenario would be to show the registered address from the registered province and not have to deal with the local immigration department.

Yep, and people will continue to get new variants. A new article out in the New England Journal of Medicine says that both vaccinated and boosted people vs prior infected people, will still easily get the new variants. https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMc2206576
