  1. In a provincial hospital, a GP will make anywhere from 50-70 thousand baht per month. If they are young doctors, older nurses and admin treat them like children in best cases.
  2. I'm not selling a car, but thought this would be the best place to ask this question: Retired and on a retirement visa. Can I buy a car in Thailand for cash? Loan? What are the rules? Thanks!
  3. Not sure. Asking for a friend. thanks for the info though. Cheers!
  4. Hello, Wondering about getting an uncontested administrative divorce in Thailand. Would that be recognized in the USA? Was married in the US to a Thai national but now living in Thailand. Maybe there is a thread on this already. Thanks!
  5. Hello, I guess this is the right forum for general information on Rayong. We are considering moving there. I have middle school aged kids, so I'm wondering about the schools. Are there some nice neighborhoods at reasonable prices? How's the air? Any thoughts or experience would be appreciated. Cheers!
  6. How do you certify your address through the immigration office? Bring a utility bill? Thanks!
  7. Thanks guys! Yeah, I'm in Khon Kaen. I will talk to them but wanted a heads up. Cheers!
  8. Hello, I need to travel to the US in March. My retirement visa expires at the end of April but I won't return until May. I want to extend it in early March. Is this possible? I have a Thai driver's license. Can I get an international driver's license with that? Thanks so much!
  9. Hello, I have not found this topic here, or it didn't appear in the search. I currently have a retirement visa based on 800K in the bank. It's very easy to get a visa this way, but it sure is a waste to not be able to invest all that money. I hear there is an alternative: Income Verification or Money Transferred in my Thai bank account. Is anyone familiar with this process? I am a US Citizen. Much appreciated!
  10. I wonder if living here and returning from your home country would be different...
