  1. Digging this up as I'd like to confirm something on the marriage certificate please. My understanding is I should bring both Kor Ror 2 and 3. Does any of them need to be recently dated? I got married last week, and will go apply to the extension next week. Also, I plan to apply to convert my current TR to Non-O based on marriage around 60 days later. I am going to use the CW office for these.
  2. If mine is on 3-4 month old, will they accept it without me having to update it before my extension?
  3. Does this mean we need to submit a recently dated Kor Ror 2 doc, if so how do I get an updated one?
  4. Is there a shop where I can take 4 x 6 cm photos at CW immigration? If so, where is it located please? Thank you.
  5. What if we already did a wife visit extension before? Would there be any option left? I am planning to get a wife visit extension for my current TR visa, then get a Non-O, then an extension based on marriage, and reading this thread makes me anxious about the possibility of not being approved for the marriage extension in time. Has there been such a case here before?
  6. Thank you both Ubonjoe and DrJoy. A couple of further questions please: 1) How many days prior to the expiry of my Tourist Visa must I apply for this extension? 2) When I get the extension, will my stay be extended from the date of my original TR visa expiry day or from the date of extension? If it's the latter, I'm considering going a bit later, rather than sooner. Thank you.
  7. Correct, I am aware of the 2 months seasoning requirement for the Marriage extension. However, I'm now unsure if I understand all the nuances entirely and correctly, so let me please confirm my understanding: - I cannot apply for the marriage extension without first being granted the Non-O visa - So after having extended my TR visa for 60 more days based on wife visit, I should apply for a "change of visa type" to Non-O first - The application of Non-O does not require the seasoning of money in the bank - When the time comes for my marriage extension application, the money should have been properly seasoned Is my understanding correct?
  8. I recently learned of the extension based on visiting a Thai spouse. After reading the requirements here (no.24), copied below for easy reference: I have some questions, if anyone could help answer please: 1) How else do I prove the relationship with my wife is de facto. Should the marriage certificate alone be suffice? 2) I am currently on a Tourist Visa, so I'd need to use TM.7 for the application form, is this correct? 3) Copy of household registration certificate, is this referring to my wife's house book? Does it matter if she and I are now living together in a different address than what's in her house book? Her name is registered in another house, but she and I are currently living together in her sister's vacant house. Which house book should I use in this case? I will be using the CW office to apply for the extension. Thank you in advance!
  9. Thank you! After taking a look at the requirements for wife visit extension, I have some questions but I'll make a new thread for it now. ????
  10. Thank you Ubonjoe and DrJack. The extension for wife visit is new to me. I was originally planning to go straight for Non-O based on marriage. I might still be a little confused here, so I'd like to ask if my plan here is viable. I plan to bring my wife to the US eventually, but her visa will take around 1 year to be approved and issued, so in the meantime I'll stay with her here in Bangkok. I am currently on a Tourist Visa, which will expire on Oct 3. Now that I'm officially married to my wife, we have the marriage certificate, by Wednesday this week I was planning to go to CW to change my TR visa to Non-O based on marriage. From my understanding, that would give me 90 days + 1 year of extended stay in Thailand while we wait for my wife's US immigrant visa. However, after discovering about the wife visit extension here, I am now thinking of doing this: 1) Firstly, apply for the wife visit extension (60 days) - the process seems to be a lot simpler than Non-O 2) 15 days before the wife visit extension expires, apply for Non-O based on marriage and get additional 90 days + 1 year extension of stay This way, I can have even more time in Thailand while we wait for my wife's US visa. Is this a viable plan, or is it better I go straight to Non-O based on marriage? Is there any cause for any concern? The ultimate goal is to make sure I can stay with my wife for as long as it takes for her US visa to be approved. Thank you!
  11. They can definitely do the search! They just need to select the date range that includes your entry. I grabbed the screenshot this way for my own extension.
  12. I'd like to ask further about the 60 day extension to visit wife please. What is this extension called officially? So I can look for the requirements for it. Also, if I end up needing more time to prepare for Non-O based on marriage by getting this 60 day wife visit extension, I can still apply for Non-O based on marriage afterward, is that correct? Thank you for your help in advance!
  13. It is actually mentioned toward the end of item 10. But yes, maybe best to provide anyway. ????
  14. Thank you everyone for the help. I really appreciate it. One further question here: do I absolutely need to provide a map of the house? And does it need to be hand-drawn (I remember reading about this here a while ago).
  15. I am now on a Tourist Visa. Got married yesterday, and will apply for a Non-O based on marriage next week. So my understanding is I'll be applying to change my visa type, from TR to Non-O.
  16. Oh, did you mean TM86? My understanding is TM7 is for extension of Tourist Visa? I am applying for Non-O based on marriage.
  17. My wife did TM30 reporting online. Can we use a screenshot from the online system to show? ????
  18. Hello everyone. I am currently living with my wife in one of her sister's house, and we do not need to pay any rent. One of the requirements for Non-O based on marriage mentions a rental receipt of past 3 months: Since we do not have any receipts to show, is it going to be okay if we submit only a letter by my wife's sister stating she's letting us stay in the house for the next year or so, without rent?
  19. I don't have an account currently, which is why I came here for advice on how and where to open one. At the moment I feel like it will be difficult so I am considering using an agent to help open one, but it will not be the CW branch. Once I have an account opened, I will wire in 400k through WISE, or transfer 400k from my wife's account into my newly opened account (since the advice here said they wouldn't check the source of the money). Do you see anything that could go wrong with this plan? Also, I have to ask again, will I still be able to use the CW branch for the letter of guarantee and updated bankbook?
  20. I am on Tourist Visa but getting married with my to-be wife tomorrow. I will obtain Non-O next. Does this change anything in your advice?
  21. That is such a relief! Honestly, I have been overwhelmed by all these bank requirements, and it's great to know that at least this part of the process will be simple enough. Thank you for your help!
