Harsher Penalties for "Drunk Driving and Repeat Offenders" Demanded
Marco51 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
sentence should stop after "job" period. -
None of this nonsense was ever neccessary before the floods of Maoist and russian triads, mafia or lone misrangers . Not neccessary now either but TIT and as most cou7ntries tell their citizens to distract from government misdeeds : the foreigner per se is bad. As we can not put them on chains we must find other methods . To all normal tourists and expats ( est. 98% of them) : choose destinations with your feet..........and wallet.

Several neighbouring countries compete with Thailand for foreign retirees
Marco51 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
There aren't many feet left and the next Thaksin marionette is already cocking the gun. However, do not forget the Phillipines , parts of Indonesia and Vietnam, all of which retain their independance of China, unlike the named Cambodia ( and do not make a negative remark on the pocket dictator). 1 point for Thailand (or maybe not really...) is that all this contradictory and nerve wrecking bureaucratic new nonsense has been invented after the Chinese invasion, not that it works, as we can see, the news are reporting mainly the farang misdeeds of which I must admit there are many more than before and that figures too. Even Spain has this problem. Sorry, no time, gotta run for my next 90 day convict reporting. -

Mae Hong Son cracks down on inappropriate tourist behaviour
Marco51 replied to snoop1130's topic in Isaan News
Looks like the masses are all farang having mass fun in a mass flower - hicks- pow-hicks-er destination, now all new with legal cannabis to the booze. Quite possibly the Chinese ambassador has protested again , I had been told by Chinese girls selfying, sorry, travelling in Chiang Mai they were headed next to Pai where the western hippies go for sex and dlucks an lockandloll . Giggle, maybe get la.....oooops It really used to be a laid back place 25-30 years ago for a weekend with bad accomodation but good food and QUIET !!! and relaxation , good conversations and .....aah yes, they did already have a late night "karaoke hotel" right at the beginning of the town that had been a pain in the behind. Like everywhere : do not talk about it if it is nice, the unwashed masses will want it too, preferably in prepaid TUI tours and many many compatriots of the same intellectual level. Spain: ticked, done that , Portugal, Crete, Istambul, Kabul, Goa, Bangkok, Samui, Bali............... -
Bangkok launches major drug prevention initiative with urine tests
Marco51 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
So the underlying principle is : "everybody is guilty until proven innocent, no civil rights required to check citizens against their consent"..........................and nobody seems to even think twice about this. Mnors down to 12 years, elderly up to 65, women pee in cups probably under the observation of male cops , farang too?, male and female?, all ages? where will this happen? In the streets , pubs, restaurants, bars, cinemas.....daytime or only for people who dare to walk the city at night? China is getting closer daily ! And as Huawei is running the G5 network, we don't really have to worry about our communication any more either, only wether the Chinese will allow the Thais to participate in the observation. -
Thailand to reclassify cannabis as illegal by 1 January, 2025
Marco51 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It's an open secret that China is pushing hard for this somersault backwards because even the hint of a tourist having had fun and un-comunist and tolerance-improving experiences can get them into jail when flying back home. Thailand is right smack in the center of what CCP China regards as their god given circle of influence and we all know they do not take prisoners, not even in other countries' homegrounds or seas. A SEA country that creates it;s own liberal ideas , where will that lead and what next? Laos back to the Laotians, Mekhong with water? Cambodia with free speech? Oooops, Thailand has already legalised LGBT, what to do about that?...no worries, CCP has started building a navy base at Sihanoukville, just to make sure SEA nations don't get any ideas. Legalising cannabis, who's ever heard of such a thing? Next is an elected party in government ....and then democracy? Or tarifs on the home industry-killing flood of chinese cars and Ali-goods. And Chinese tourists come back to Xipingistan with switched on brains and the "real history" , the emperor's heaven help us. -

Bad News For Weed Shops: Potent Cannabis Poses Mental Health Risks
Marco51 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Very simple : the Chinese approve of both and make loads of money on those, especially save old age pensions promoting chain smoking the cheapest of mattress weed in paper rolls. Cannabis however can create free thinking and the will to dress, behave, think freely, be artistic, in one word be a free, mellow individual. We can't have that there and the local emotionally challenged spooks agree fully, people should work, have kids , get pissed on monopoly drink, pay taxes , work, pay taxes, buy condo, pay more taxes, splash water and noise, work more , be happy with 600 Baht pensions......a smoke of dreams can only be in the way. I hate to admit it but I almost miss general P. and the cucumber troop. -
Finance Ministry Moves to Introduce 7% VAT on Inexpensive Imported Items
Marco51 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
What about books that are internationally exempt? Do the customs bureaucrats know this? Or rather pretend they are waiting for the PM's orders, after all the poor man is everywhere and all the time and is expert on everything. The incredible admin costs may or may not be added too? Do they fill out a formsheet for every 100 Baht? Do we all have to plan in 1 hour daily pick up of parcels at the post or maybe the airfreight department (farang please bring passports) ? Again the planning and implementation of new ideas is meticulous. -

.....damn! Should go out and get the old Raj back........anything better than getting back in to the EU and do your fair share of club work and be part of....ooops, the EU is also tending towards inhumane crap now, there are badmirers of the Ruanda Principle all over Europe, ......sorry guys. The good news : hemp rope is now affordable at Ali Express for all whitebreads and no worries about the Asian spouse, Ali Express will catalogue them for free in Shanghai................

Thailand Customs to Apply VAT on All Postal Imports

Health Ministry approves medical use of opium and magic mushrooms
Marco51 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
when there wasn't so much fuss about the subject (or so many dicks around........the 70s/80s) you could buy a Thai stick all over BGK, buy Bhang on a market in Calcutta, get Nepalese Spaghetti-<deleted> in Srinagar and Kathmandu, harvest your own O near the still existant Bamiyan Buddhas in Afghanistan (while the locals were simply looking and shaking their heads at bare bosomed Hippy girls.....imagine) have a mushroom omelette on Bali for breakfast or buy ready made J's on the markets in Cambodia or outside of , say, the Heart of Darkness. If I remember correctly the problem had never, ever been those pick-me-ups but the junk that came with a completely different type of dicks and dickenses with attitude arriving in hordes. Phuket and ChiangMai Disneyland and some worse things comes to mind here....strange association. The planet is simply overcrowded with the wrong aliens. -
