Maybe a picturw of the markings near one of the ends ? If this is HDPE pipe, we would usually fusion weld the ends together. But as mentioned if it is only for impact protection and the cable is rated fir direct burial, then should not be an issue how the ends are taped up. I would not want solvents from the liquid rubber or nails product to get in tcontact with the cable.
