Hi All,
Does anybody have experience with running similar businesses from the same office location? What are the potential problems? What would need to be done so it is clear that there are 2 businesses running?
Both businesses would run from the same ground floor unit and there would be 1 work permit (plus 4 Thai staff) attached to each business
Many thanks

Oh and we have already submitted our withholding tax forms for this company at the end of each month

My accountant has been asked to reprint 8 months of invoices for a company we sell to as the company name was marginally incorrect (from Joebloggs Co.,Ltd > Joe bloggs Co.,Ltd ) This will take her some amount of time so I am wondering if it is really necessary. Has anybody come across this before? It seems ridiculous to me

Is it possible to use a car rental as a tax deduction? Are there any limitations? What would I need from my car rental company in order to start using the rental car this way?
Any info would be greatly appreciated

Thanks for the replies. That has given me a better idea. I would much rather employ a Thai who could write, read and speak Russian but I couldn't find any.

Looking into the possibility of employing a Russian member of staff in Pattaya but wanted to know what would be the going rate for a full time Russian employee who speaks reasonable English and can use a computer. Thanks

So basically what you are saying then, I can obtain a work permit without being VAT registered but will encounter a problem when I come to renew after 1 year
-
Does anyone know if you have to become VAT registered if you need a foreigner work permit? I was just speaking with an accountant and she seemed surprised that I had a work permit through my company and wasn't VAT registered. The turnover of the company is NOT more than 1,800,000 Baht per year so I was under the impression we didn't need to

I knew a vendor that sold 1,200 pieces if stick-meat everyday.
Looking poor but laughing all the way to the bank.
I hope this forum thread doesn't get out to the Thai's, at 10,000 baht profit per day we could see even more carts on the roads. As for the car haters, couldn't agree more, there are far too many cars on the roads also and I only use mine when I really need to. I would walk more often if there were decent paths to walk on.

Hi Guys, I have taken on board all your advice and decided to quit expressing my opinion on things that annoy me in Thailand. I should learn to live and let live. Ill just post boring, happy, non-controversial things from now on. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

There are plenty of alternative jobs out there that are probably easier then pushing a cart around in the heat all day. You make it sound like they have no other option.
-
They don't annoy you coz you drive a motorbike and not a car. Yes I am aware we are in Thailand hence why I added that it will probably never change. Well done on being here for 10 years. I never understand why people state that on this forum, like the longer you have been the more creditable your posts are. You will know "seeing as you have been here for 10 years" that price has nothing to do with it as anyone can eat outside a Family Marts or 7/11 for the same food at the same price.
-
There seems to be more and more of these food carts on the roads these days and they cause accidents, hold up traffic and don't believe they are even needed. If the Pattaya City Hall are serious about helping traffic flow then surely this would be an obvious place to start.
I'm sure those who use them would only have to walk 50 metres to a Family Mart or 7/11 where they have stalls set up outside selling the same food anyway. As for the all those who will lose their job, never heard of any unemployment in Pattaya so that wouldn't be an issue either, just find another job. I know of lots of restaurants constantly looking for help in the kitchen.
They do not pay any taxes, employ people or pay any rent to someone who does pay tax and employ staff so why are they even allowed to operate and compete with those who contribute.
Anyway, I know it's always been like that, so I know it will never change but I thought I'd hear the opinions of others regarding this issue.

I stay in soi 5 Pratumnak Hill and for last 3 nights I haven't been able to sleep as the construction workers working on the C View project near by have been partying late at night. This morning they decided to start partying again and woke me and I would imagine everybody else in my building up at 7am. Are there laws in Thailand against this type of behavior? What are the options? (Confronting them is not an option)

Crossy is absolutely right. We could do with knowing some more details though, like how much is big money? The deductible for most rental companies in Pattaya is 8000 baht so this is the most you can expect to pay, if any more then this, she is having you over. I always rent from an actual car rental company in Pattaya to avoid such problems, I normally use Pattaya Rent a Car and have never had an issue

Anybody know of a company in Pattaya that can recover the seats on my Fortuner and generally clean up the inside of the car
Cheers
-
Hiya guys,
I am looking for a recommended car upholster specialist to recover the seats in my fortuner. Any recommendation in the Pattaya area?
Many thanks in advance

It seems ridiculous that you have no way of knowing who is putting money into your account. There must be a way

Can you see more detail if you use Internet banking?

Does anyone know of a Bank in Thailand that gives you more information regarding transaction in and out of your bank book?
I recently had 4 similar amounts of money go into my account which should have been 5. I wasn't sure who had paid money in and who hadn't so rather then ring each person up I decided to take a trip to my branch to find out. To my surprise they couldn't tell any more information then that printed in the bank book.
Has anyone else had a similar problem and are there other banks that can offer more info. I bank with Kasikorn

Im looking for genuine advice here as I have a current member of staff who I don't want to lose because of certain skills he has but I just can not seem to motivate him to do a decent days work. I recently increased his salary to 20,000 baht from 15,000 baht but that didn't work. Any advice would be appreciated
