October’s inflation growth slows for 2nd consecutive month
HappyinNE replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
They are talking the rate of increase not lower prices. Prices still going up but at a slower rate. Good way to fool people into believing that inflation is going down. -

Low-hanging wire sweeps man off motorcycle in Sri Racha
HappyinNE replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Just tie a line, not a wire around them. Attach the other end to a car or truck and drive away. If you get tired of doing this on very low wires just raise your target. -

Have not had a problem since the Virus started. It seems like the Taxi drivers were not getting enough fares and since then I have not had a problem. Do not have drivers going past they all stop now. Usually get a Cab from Suk Soi 8 or across Suk at Soi 11. Right in the middle of tourist area and now no problem.

marriage extension renewal
HappyinNE replied to taximan1954's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I have been using copies of my original application and no problem. Gone through three or four extensions. The only problem I had is they do not like a stamp of your signature. Had to actually sign over both copies of all forms. -
Rooster, Your quote “In international news a leaked Supreme Court draft ruling in the US suggested that the landmark Roe vs Wade decision might result in universal access to abortion being denied.” The next time get through all the media and political BS and look at the real issue. The decision being discussed is that a previous court declared that abortion is a right given by the constitution. What the decision is really about is did the previous court actually made a mistake. Since there is no mention of abortion in my copy of the Constitution I have always been stretched to believe that the Constitution really said granted that right. The issue is not to outlaw abortion in the Federal system but then it will be up to the individual states to determine if they want to take a position on abortion. HappyinNE

We had a dangerously low slung cable in the village where we live, it was left like that after some work by the electric company, the committee callled the electric company to come to fix it ... 4 days later they arrived...they wanted 500b to fix the cable that THEY had left hanging Tie it to the back of a pick up with a rope and drive away. Now the power company will not need the 500 baht to fix it.

1,000 illegal workers waiting to enter Prachuap Khiri Khan

It only works when the employers are actually sent to jail. This talking about it doesn't work, especially in Thailand. -
Thailand reports 11,646 new COVID-19 cases and 107 more deaths
HappyinNE replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This appears to be true if you consider a Chinese Vaccine as one that you want. Try to not get that for your first shot. Not possible in Nong Khai for a non Thai. Actually also for a Thai. Until that changes it will be difficult to get even half the population vaccinated. -
Thai Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) stated Ethyl alcohol it is not suitable for human consumption. Maybe they should look it up to see what it is. As hint it is also called ethanol and can be represented as C2H5OH or CH3CH2OH. It is a common ingredient of beer, wine, Scotch, Bourbon, Gin and Vodka among other alcoholic substances. Maybe their beliefs is somehow responsible for the stupid Alcohol sales laws.

Should the time be in hours, days or maybe even weeks. Any longer means fire all the investigators and go out to the streets and recruit students. -
2/3 of COVID-19 Fatalities in Thailand Were Unvaccinated
HappyinNE replied to Jonathan Fairfield's topic in Thailand News
I went to my first appointment for a shot of AstraZeneca as scheduled from the Nong Khai Government Hospital. Minor problem no AstraZeneca so offered Sinovac. I declined and was told to come back on a day about two weeks later. On arrival and of course being of an age of 82 I past the age requirement I was offered Sinovac with a promise of AstraZeneca as my second shot. I am old enough to realize that I have been lied to at least twice and therefore do not believe further promises. They explained that the new Government policy was the first shot was Sinovac and the second would be AstraZeneca. Needless to say I declined their offer and hoping that the registration for the US gifted vaccine will actually happen. Yes I have enrolled, no date yet. My other choice is I have paid for the one in October but the Government is in the middle of that one. If Thailand ever opens up to return trips to here my last choice is fly to the US and get the shot. Drug store, Market, Health Service no need for an appointment. Shots available and somehow they have figured out how to do this.
