There is a reason why things are the way they are. Bankrupt country full of dirt and low quality, noise , non functional justice system and executing force behind it..low education level without any intent to better it, low wages, poor social system. Thailand is going down the drain the way they are going now. This is a Thai problem .Has nothing to do with the Farangs. It used to be upward some decade ago and more but there is not much left of that after the bosses thought they knew better. And it shows in the mentality amongst the Thai.

100 % truth. selfishness is the main driving factor behind most Thais behavior. Sadly the reason why there is no greater future waiting. Ever.

I see you just got a taste of the lovely Thai mentality. Nothing you can do about it but curse them. They will never be social. They will never change. Trying to understand is a psychological risk. Good luck.

Nobody asked if we knew before we lived here what a backward boring place it is...and yes we did. The question was is is worth to make the trip there as a tourist. Regardless of your love for it. The answer clearly is no. It is not worth the trip as a tourist. AND it was specifically about the city. That is an even bigger no. The city has no sights.

And go where ?

Beside the temple complex relatively far outside the actual city...70 km or so...i can honetsly say no the city hasn't got anything worth to make the trip for. I live here 15 yrs. now.

Thai police is probably the most useless aspect in this country. And that means something. So amazing how the people accept it and pay for it.

Skiled workers... I build 5 myself and have financed and or managed over a dozen more.) Some were extremely high end homes in bangkok too yes. Can you refer me to the company you speak about..? Like i said i am about to build my own house so .. It seems i am in the typical Thai problem where others have exactly what you need but you can never ever find it anywhere.....ever.

After having build 5 houses in different ways, the first 2 in your way. With my own (better) ideas and searching how to get that done with the local workers and tools they have at their disposal...SO i advice you 1. Search skilled workers from anywhere who are known for being able to build high quality or.. 2. Use building materials and methods the local builders know. That means probably you'll have to do concessions. They have so many ways to ruin something you could never dream it up and it's all your fault because you asked them to do this. No garantee they will tell you if they can't...... They mostly say yes until it's way too late and you're sure to lose money and time on it. In the end the quality of a 20 mil. house ends up to be the same as a 1 mil house just other gimmicks, materials and more floorspace.... But don't be dissapointed when your roof leaks just the same ans your shower floor and you window frames...be there every step of the build is a good garantee for better quality but not for knowledge on material, technique and tools.. For isolation purposes i would look for tropical house designs rather than the blocks and isolation...Unless you have air on all day wich we don;t we only use fans.. I have used all different building blocks available and am planning my own house soon. Also in Isan. It will be build in either the grey cement blocks or the red brick. I will not use the white blocks..Have used them in 3 houses but pass m in my own house. Good luck to you.
