  1. Still harping on eh. I am happy for you to go along with Dans version of history, along with TQ entertaining the troops. But i will choose to go with the reality. In 1965, the first major hotel opened in Pattaya, the Nipa Lodge which is now the Basaya Beach Hotel and Resort. There are a number of bars that try to stake claim to being the oldest but most records seem to point to a select few that opened in the early 1960’s including Charlie’s Hideaway and Suzanne’s. https://pattaya.guide/guides/history-guide/
  2. No, that was a joke about the OP. Read it again, i clearly said in the OP it was over in 1973, but Dan was claiming 'all the soldiers and navy men' went there during the war. Sorry it went over your head. Other people got it.
  3. https://www.thephuketnews.com/choice-group-asia-acquires-thaivisa-media-group-53902.php Took over in 2015, rebranded it ASEANNOW and has taken it from strength to strength. 8 years of constant improvements and inovation.
  4. I remember that monkey, but didnt know/recall it was out the front of Royal Garden. Thanks for the info, very interesting.
  5. Was it packed out with soldiers from the war?
  6. Were you there on RnR from the war?
  7. Yeah, you gotta hate those posters with no comprehension skills who make things up and demean members.
  8. No, he said "so do zionosts" which means Hamas needs to be eliminated and so do the zionists.
  9. Ah, the old qualifier not mentioned by your mate Dan or in their advertising sign. The weary troops loved it mate. It burned down a few years ago and they rebuilt it. Its a replica. Also a couple of years ago it was again saved by crowd funding. Bars in the now walking street are older but may have had name changes. Marine was there and actually did serve the Vietnam troops.
  10. You are paying for the 35 years of experience.
  11. opened 1978 If you have any photos of your time in Pattaya in the 80s i think they would be interesting.
  12. They always have. maybe it was something to do with your personal hygeine or maybe you possess a very hideous one?
  13. Because the ones you meet are bargirls, usually single mothers and Thai blokes are not interested, so as a defense they say they dont want a Thai man. But statistics show that over 98.5% of non prostitute Thai females in a hetrosexual relationship have chosen a Thai man.
  14. Dan the Cheeseman's stories are what i would descibe as loosely based on a true story. Here is what it was really like.....
  15. Some of those dancers are still there. It does attract the older crowd.
  16. Hey Stonehead, how about watching the link and then commenting. Do you pay for women? Why?
  17. 📸 Watch this video on Facebook https://fb.watch/oDKC7VOOqI/?mibextid=VI5BsZ Good morning, Famous Thai vlogger and long term Pattaya resident Dan Cheeseman takes his young family for a stroll down the Coconut Bar. Interestingly he claims that the Tahitian Queen is "Pattaya's oldest bar" and that "all the soldiers and navy men come from America during the (Vietnam) war" Firstly, the Tahitian Queen isnt Pattaya's oldest bar even though it tries to claim it is. It is Pattaya's first gogo bar. Secondly it opened in 1978, three long years after the war was over. Dan just made up the story about the soldiers and navy men. It didnt happen. Dan also claims that the Joe Lewis Puppet show "welcomed the Americans during 'their' war" I doubt it was there pre 1973. Does anyone actually know? He also seems to think Royal Garden Plaza was around during the war, but that didnt open until 1993. He also talks about all the "5 star restaurants along beach road" but not actually naming any. What are they? There are a few good ones but are they really 5 star? Should vloggers be factually accurate or should they never let the truth get in the way of a good story?
  18. I think what Dan is trying to say is that because many farangs sadly marry Thai prostitutes, then everyone asumes that when they see a farang with a Thai female that she must be a prostitute. So it really isnt the Thai prostitutes fault, because they dont really see these blokes as real husbands, more like VIP customers. This stigma really comes from the farangs who married them.
  19. Try this one mate. https://dating.danaboutthailand.com/
  20. They are paid. Peanuts. So like the girls they beg for drinks to earn some extra cash and are paid when blokes buy them drinks. Towards the end of the month when rent is due they are even available to be barfined for the long termers who got sick of the girls, then got sick of the ladyboys. Nothing more enjoyable for some than giving a soi six manager a good seeing to. TThings can get very rough upstairs in the soi. Farangs are supposed to paid around 50,000 per month minimum in order to recieve a work permit. Obviously they dont get that, but considering all the other laws that are broken in soi 6 like having British pimps, human trafficking, murders, sex on premises etc etc I think a blind eye is also turned for this.
  21. Dan has lived here for two decades. Expert despite not being able to string a single sentence together of Thai and incredibly not even yet managed to pronounce Pattaya properly yet. he will get there eventually i am sure.
  22. Sorry, I just realised he was discussing Thai "girls" and not Thai women.
  23. Listen Shop, everyone is allowed to vote for whoever they like. It is a democratic process.
  24. The in depth knowledge from this famous vlogger is truly remarkable.
