But anyway the situation in small Thai hospitals could be stressful. It's well known that you have to come with clothes or bedsheets and that you have to share the room with males or females even. Family members will assist you and stay the night on a mattress under your bed.
Good that he has friends here and in UK to help him out to pay the bills.
