    I wouldn't be so sure about that! When the:hit-the-fan:there will be one very big bang. History has shown, the only way these sorts of problems get resolved is war, and the west seems to be itching to go to war with Russia or China or both.

    The customs link will tell you what documents you need etc to import personal effects. 

    The siam shipping link has some very good advice. let the shipping company sort out Thai import duties, if there are any to pay.

    That isn't actually correct. My understanding is that you pay off the interest first before the capitol amount is reduced. interest is not calculated on an amount outstanding. It is calculated on the loan amount. I Know the amount I borrowed and I also know the amount that will be paid back over the period of the loan.
