Dude I lived right there in that neighborhood for a long time and I am not exactly what one would call normal looking. While I have been stared at, especially by little kids, I have always been treated nicely, mainly because I act nice. It really is a fabulous area. You have Tao Pun station that has the Blue Line Circle plus the Purple Nothanburi Linep lus the Pink Line to Rat Burana is being built, and the Chao Phraya Boats and MRT at Bang Pho, plus a Mall, plus its near the Grand Station. But no tourist attractions other than Parliament Now I cant judge about scenarios where one runs around and attacks Karoke places that are for Thai people at 3am while on drugs, mind you. And many was the time I have walked past them at all hours, a bit too old and non English speaking for me.
