  1. Great idea, but what then go back to the same situation as before 7/10, or will we see something else?
  2. Maybe not in Rafah but then we'll never know because of a lack of International free press present. Plenty of evidence at the Sede Teman facility in Israel though. A CNN investigation has uncovered the horrors of a shadowy detention facility where Palestinian prisoners are blindfolded, handcuffed and forced to wear dirty diapers. Watch Matthew Chance’s full report.
  3. Funny that, I wonder when Israel are going to comply with UN security Council Resolutions, they have years of catching up to do. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_Nations_resolutions_concerning_Israel#:~:text=Resolution 474%2C regarding the United,of the 4th Geneva Convention.
  4. I'm preying for the Vogon Constructor Fleet to turn up and give us all 24 hours to vacate the planet.
  5. What Algeria said at the meeting as quoted in my post, I like you wait with baited breath for some changes from the occupying power. The representative of Algeria said addressing the crisis in Gaza without tackling the root cause — the occupation of Palestinian land — will not lead to lasting peace. The Security Council bears primary responsibility in this regard and must fully implement all relevant resolutions, including resolution 2334 (2016) which states that settlements are illegal and a violation of international law. Meanwhile 800,000 settlers now live in the West Bank, terrorizing Palestinians, destroying their structures and “judaizing” Al-Quds and its holy sites. Algeria will submit a draft solution urging the Council to shoulder its responsibilities, he said, calling for its support. “Waiting for the occupying Power to voluntarily abide by international law and Security Council resolutions is pointless,” he added, noting that after repeated attacks on UNRWA and a failed attempt to discredit the agency, the occupying Power is considering declaring it a terrorist organization, thus removing it from the Occupied Palestinian Territory. Warning against this move, he called on the Council to protect the Agency and for the Organization to support the Palestinians’ rights to an independent State with Al-Quds Sharif as its capital.
  6. 9638TH MEETING (AM) SC/15710 29 May 2024 Special Coordinator, Stressing ‘All Sides Must Urgently Change Course’, Appeals to Security Council for Support of Gaza’s Political Future Speakers Condemn Recent Strike on Rafah, Calling for Ceasefire, Unhindered Delivery of Humanitarian Aid Briefing the Security Council on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian Question, the Special Coordinator for that region’s peace process urged Member States to support Gaza’s political future, work with the new technocratic Palestinian Government and develop a framework of its recovery, as many speakers, condemning the recent strike on Rafah, renewed calls for a ceasefire to enable humanitarian aid deliveries to the Palestinian people. https://press.un.org/en/2024/sc15710.doc.htm
  7. I'd like to know what you were expecting?
  8. Not possible, is it? We will never know but if you're under the impression Boris and co did a great job during Covid good for you, I'm not willing to get into an argument/debate over it, on the basis that if the Labour party had prior to 2017 all been behind a left/centre manifesto things could have been very different. So much so that the establishment are still bringing trying to bring Corbyn into this election against Starmer, it scared them so much, the masses getting behind a honest genuine politician. That will be Starmer's problem this election, the left of the Labour party has left to the Greens and Independents amounting to about 200,000 paying members, not only a monetary problem but also a large part of the canvassing side of the party. As for Brexit, that was the problem for the 2019 election, biggest mistake imho the U.K. has ever made in recent history, that cat will be kicked down the road forever.
  9. We had the chance of a Labour government that would have done that and a lot more in 2017 but for the dummies on the right of the Labour party sabotaging the best result since 2001 and the biggest increase in vote share in a single general election since 1945. How different the Covid debacle and Brexit would have been for the U.K. under a Corbyn government rather than with the Tories under Boris.
  10. I can think of 200,000 ex Labour Party Members who will never forget for a start. The man couldn't lie straight in bed.
  11. First time in 50 years I've not voted, can't say I'm bothered who gets in Tory Light or just plain Tory, both a load of chancers.
  12. Hope this helps: https://www.gov.uk/importing-vehicles-into-the-uk Plenty of info here to: https://www.specialised-shipping.co.uk/customs#:~:text=How much UK Import Duty, for private and commercial imports.
  13. I think you need to have a read of this: Membership and registered supporters A graph showing Labour Party individual membership, excluding affiliated members and supporters. As of 31 December 2010, under Leader Ed Miliband, individual membership of the party was 193,261; a historical low for the Party since the 1930s.[236] Membership remained relatively unchanged in the following years.[236][237][238] In August 2015, prior to the 2015 leadership election, the Labour Party reported 292,505 full members, 147,134 affiliated supporters (mostly from affiliated trade unions and socialist societies) and 110,827 registered supporters; a total of about 550,000 members and supporters.[239][240] Following the election of Jeremy Corbyn as leader, individual membership almost doubled to 388,262 in December 2015;[238] and rose significantly again the following year to 543,645 in December 2016.[241] As of December 2017, the party had 564,443 full members,[242] a peak since 1980 making it the largest political party in Western Europe.[243][244] Consequently, membership fees became the largest component of the party's income, overtaking trade unions donations which were previously of most financial importance, making Labour the most financially well-off British political party in 2017.[245] As of December 2019, the party had 532,046 full members.[246] In the 2020 leadership election 490,731 people voted, of which 401,564 (81.8%) were members, 76,161 (15.5%) had affiliated membership and 13,006 (2.6%) were registered supporters. The registered supporter class was abolished in 2021.[247] By July 2023, the party's membership was reported to have fallen to 399,195 members.[248] In March 2024, it was reported that the Labour Party's membership had fallen to 366,604.[5] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labour_Party_(UK)
  14. Nice to see the ICJ Order of last week being ignored as usual. At least 35 people were killed in an Israeli strike in Rafah on Sunday, the Gaza health ministry said. The strike hit a camp for displaced people, according to Gaza authorities. The IDF claimed it struck a Hamas compound in the area, killing two senior officials from the militant group. Sirens sounded in Tel Aviv and parts of central Israel on Sunday after rockets were fired at the city for the first time in months, according to the Israeli military. Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack. https://edition.cnn.com/middleeast/live-news/israel-hamas-war-gaza-news-05-26-24/index.html?Date=20240526&Profile=CNN
  15. Anyone who read the original Order of the 24th May 2024 could see that the ICJ had as in the previous Orders unanimously called for the release of the hostages from the 7th Oct 2023. I did notice you were more than happy to follow the Times of Israel idea that it wasn't the case that the ICJ by a vote of 13 to 2 called for a halt in Israel's campaign in Rafah/Gaza, and you wonder why the world is thinking of Israel as a pariah state.
  16. Seems like a few members on here have a problem with the truth about what the ICJ actually said, so can I suggest they all read this Order dated 24th May 2024: https://www.icj-cij.org/sites/default/files/case-related/192/192-20240524-ord-01-00-en.pdf
  17. Application of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide in the Gaza Strip (South Africa v. Israel) Request for the modification and the indication of provisional measures The Court to deliver its Order on Friday 24 May 2024 at 3 p.m. THE HAGUE, 23 May 2024. On Friday 24 May 2024, the International Court of Justice will deliver its Order on the request for the modification and the indication of provisional measures submitted by South Africa on 10 May 2024 in the case concerning Application of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide in the Gaza Strip (South Africa v. Israel). A public sitting will take place at 3 p.m. at the Peace Palace in The Hague, during which Judge Nawaf Salam, President of the Court, will read out the Court’s Order. https://www.icj-cij.org/sites/default/files/case-related/192/192-20240523-pre-01-00-en.pdf
  18. 50km from Phitsanulok, 30km from Phichit, 7km from route 11, nearest 7/11 Saklek or Wattayom, out in the sticks, good air, love it, only permanent falange in the village, occasionally 1/2 others who have their own places further afield.
  19. So the press only support Hamas, and Israeli press is totally unbiased, I'd have thought if Israel had nothing to hide they'd welcome the scrutiny but as most people know that's untrue especially where Palestinian prisoners are concerned.
  20. Like the IDF did when they executed people in their hospital beds dressed as medics. Bet the ICJ/ICC loved that one.
  21. More than 50 tenured journalism professors from top universities have signed a letter calling on the New York Times to address questions about a major investigative report that described a “pattern of gender-based violence” in the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks on Israel. The letter follows months of criticism and concerns raised by outside critics as well as some Times staffers about the credibility of its sourcing and the editorial process for the story. The letter, signed by professors at colleges including New York University, the University of Pennsylvania, Emory and the University of Texas, asks the Times to “immediately commission a group of journalism experts to conduct a thorough and full independent review of the reporting, editing and publishing processes for this story and release a report of the findings.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/style/media/2024/04/29/new-york-times-oct-7-journalism-professors-letter/
  22. Fantastic, you found something that has absolutely nothing to do with my point/post. "Anything that comes from Israel media, is propaganda as it isn't verifiable by international media.""
  23. All from the Israel Times, a totally viable source, of course it is if you only want the Israeli view. If the International media in Israel reports anything it has to be vetted first, or they can't report it, never mind about the situation in Gaza Politicians have significant influence over appointments to the broadcasting regulatory bodies. Channel 14 is known to provide very favourable coverage of the prime minister, with few critical voices. Since the start of the war with Hamas, a majority of the media has increasingly relayed the government’s propaganda in favour of the war, and critical voices find it difficult to be heard. Coverage of the war in Gaza has been seriously hindered, as only journalists embedded with the IDF are allowed to enter the enclave. https://rsf.org/en/country/israel
  24. The US paused a shipment of bombs to Israel over worries about Israel nearing a decision to launch a wide-ranging military offensive on the southern Gaza city of Rafah, which President Joe Biden opposes, according to a senior administration official. Bloomberg News' Paul Wallace discusses with Joumanna Bercetche on on Horizons Daybreak: Middle East & Africa.
