  1. No, they are for my personal use, and the contents of the package is not what I sought clarification on.
  2. I'm sorry, Puccini, but my hands are too shaky to take a pic which is clear enough to read. It was an A4 sheet of paper --- looks quite genuine with the THB35 clearly stated. The customs declaration on the package averred that the package contained prescription drugs with a zero value.
  3. Because I hadn't heard or read anything about it and the last package I received was over a year ago.
  4. Today, I retrieved a package by visiting Chaiyaphruek Post Office. Apparently, if my phone number had been on the package, the postman/woman would have phoned me to agree the fee prior to delivery. I'm not quibbling about the charge, but I've never had to pay it with previous identical packages. The post office informed me that the fee represented "7%." If my maths is correct, then 100% would equate to THB500, which I think was the gram weight of the package. Is this fee something new?
  5. According to Morningstar, Jason Windsor, the CEO of Aberdeen Asset Management company, doesn't hold any shares in his company. Is anyone able to throw any light on this? I'm tempted to invest in this company (it boasts a very impressive dividend yield) but, I'm concerned that a CEO doesn't have "skin in the game."
  6. Wan Awk Phansa this Thursday October 17th. To celebrate the ending of Buddhist Lent --- NO alcohol!
  7. I just completed this quiz. My Score 10/100 My Time 161 seconds
  8. My Thai girlfriend is in receipt of a (very small) UK NHS pension, which she became entitled to following the demise of her UK husband. Last year, she got her village headman (who also happens to be her brother) to sign the PoL certificate. The certificate was rejected insisting the requirement of an endorsement from a notary public. This was subsequently complied with and the certificate was accepted.
  9. Which clinic?
  10. You will find that the usual endorsement required is certification from a notary public. These are frequently located in solicitors' offices. Cost: circa THB 1,000.
  11. I just completed this quiz. My Score 60/100 My Time 156 seconds
  12. I just completed this quiz. My Score 20/100 My Time 254 seconds
  13. Oh dear. I'm still OK, continuing to use the Edge browser. You said yesterday, that you were asked to "Trust this device." I wasn't even asked to do this. It's got to be a glitch at Lloyds end.
  14. I just completed this quiz. My Score 40/100 My Time 87 seconds
  15. Resolved!!! All by itself. Amazing! I logged on this morning, expecting to be given a OTP --- but was taken straight to the website. I logged off, and on again just to see if it was the same, and it was. I guess it must have been a glitch at Lloyds, and that someone at their end has just decided to rectify it.
  16. Many thanks NowNow for your very comprehensive reply.
  17. OK, scrolling back through my AIS messages, I see that on renewal I paid THB2,500 for 4Mbps for 12 months. Does this help?
  18. As I said, I'm not very pc literate --- but thank you for your reply. I did as you suggested and the SMS which came back was in Thai. My Thai lady told me that basically, the message said that I had very fast internet speed for "anywhere", but gave no indication of the numbers which you mentioned.
  19. For the last 2 years, I've been going to the AIS shop in Big C, Pattaya Thai to renew my contract. Is it easy --- or even possible to do it from home using a bank transfer from Bangkok Bank? My girlfriend paid THB1,800 last time and I think I paid THB2,500. The reason for the price difference is because I need the "faster/more powerful" speed, since I use my phone as a hotspot in order to operate my laptop. I'm not an overly pc literate person, hence my asking, "Is it easy?" I live in Jomtien so, if it's beyond my capability it's no great hardship to visit the AIS shop.
  20. Nope, still the same. I guess I'll just have to put up with the small inconvenience.
  21. OK, so I just tried Chrome and, as expected, I needed to receive a OTP. I'll use Chrome next time I log on, and repot back to you.
  22. No, I've had this laptop since April '22 --- purchased in Tukcom, Pattaya. I went home --- no problem. I returned to Jomtien in March '23 --- no problem --- until recently.
  23. After the memorable info' page, there is a box on the right titled "Help and support." Click on this box, then click on "Why do I need to do this?" Read the 2nd paragraph.
  24. No, my browser is not set to clear each time I log off or close my session.
  25. Many thanks to all respondents. Security is MY responsibility and I never leave browsers open. I am always very careful when it comes to financial matters. I have accounts with various other financial institutions --- none of which insist on sending OTPs every time I log on --- only if I change my browser or clear my cache. I NEVER allow sites to remember my passwords, always entering them myself each time I log on. All of my accounts are personal ones --- I don't have any business accounts. I agree with the answers from some respondents but I reiterate what I said in my post --- If it's not possible to designate my laptop as a trusted device, why is there a suggestion to the contrary when starting the login procedure? Also, as stated in my post, this has only recently begun. David.
