  1. Because unlike the UK, Europe, and the US - Thailand doesn't offer the same "incentives" to come and live off the Thai Taxpayer like they do in the West. Also, migrants would be competing against the Thai labor force which is already highly protected under Thailands regulatory scheme. Thai authorities and politicians are all to familiar with how Thai citizens would take that. As in, it would go over like a fart in Church... Last, the rape, violence, and mass protest you see being perpetrated by migrants in many countrys would receive a very different, and imo highly reflexive response in Thailand compared to what you are seeing in the West. Again, Thai authorities and politicians have enough drama without importing more.

  4. If both of you hold US Bank Accounts just use Zelle (your US Banks should have a link to set up the Zelle acct to transfer funds), or if all else fails there's PayPal. Then again there are daily limits, so if you exceed the daily limit you are going to need to do a wire transfer... Hope that helps.
  5. You might consider creating a bit of distance (like, a lot) between yourself and that little criminal mastermind you're playing with... Talk about hoisting a giant Red Flag in your face! 😆😬
  6. I was kind of thinking that but with immigration being so nuanced I wanted to check before applying for the Visa and paying the fee online. Thank you for the info!!
  7. If you entered Thailand on a 90 day Non-O based on Marriage and then return to your home country can you enter Thailand again using say a Tourist Visa? Or is it required to continue entering under the Non-O if you're married. I only plan to visit for a few months (Christmas/New Years) then have to return back to the States again to wrap some things up. Wasn't going to re-apply for the Non-O based on Marriage until I had things figured out stateside and then do the 12 month extension 2024. I had to return to the States to handle some family business so that negated me applying for the extension.
  8. That's not how these things go down... But yeah, I doubt that too.
  9. Putin won't accept the invite. He's on a "most wanted list", and for that matter it would be a security nightmare for the GRU.. Foreign policy wise it's like lighting a stick of dynamite and seeing how long one can hold it before it blows up in your face. imo this is a dangerous move on Thailand's part.
  10. "US Embassy" doesn't validate anything non-Federal anymore apparently... I think they used to but from what I can tell this practice was stopped earlier this year or maybe last year. I tried to get them to Authenticate my Marriage Certificate when I went in to have my Passport Copy Notarized last week and they basically told me to pound-sand... lol
  11. Thanks for this, in fact I was literally wondering about that!
  12. You're correct, the only issue I'm up against is the time-line. Process is actually strait forward. Sec of State in NV Apostilles, then goes to US State Dept. for "Authentication", then goes to Thai Embassy LA for their "Authentication", then goes to me back here in Thailand... Tax man sure is pervasive.. I'm looking into that extension now actually. Thanks for your reply!
  13. I've noticed the "Use an agent" comment here and in other forums. Will look into that for sure. Thanks for the info!
  14. Thanks for your reply and the info, yeah it's my own damn fault... Live n' learn.
