Thai PM fumes over delayed quake warnings; demands action
818Pilot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
My Thai wife got the message Friday (a day late and dollar short 😂), yet I never received it. Did they send it to only Thai registered phone numbers and not farang? -
So what I read was: Some old Farang that has a “little manhood” complex and thought he was cool, bought a Harley when he came to Thailand even though he’s likely never ridden much in his life. Then as he’s purposely driving in area full of hookers and expats show off and try to look cool likes he’s young and rich, runs into the back of a car and decides to blame the other guy when he clearly has no riding skills and now wants all of us to feel sorry for him. Nope, not happening

Pai's Deportation of International Musician Sparks Outcry
818Pilot replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
I don’t get the uproar Work illegally and get deported, how hard is it to understand. I get people do it all the time, but if you play with fire you’re going to eventually get burnt and have no one to blame but yourself. -
Solutions Sought for Dealing with Unruly Tourists in Mae Hong Son
818Pilot replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
It’s simple, TAT needs to stop focusing on the number of tourists and start focusing on creating a memorable quality experience. If tourist act up, don’t talk about what they might and probably won’t do, enforce the laws, arrest, and deport them! -
Foreigners Face New Hurdles in Opening Thai Bank Accounts
818Pilot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I’m 100% with you, I see no reason for anyone on a tourist class of Visa, including visa exempt and DTV, to have a bank account. If people tried getting a bank account in other countries on Tourist they would be laughed out of the bank -

Foreigner Sparks Outrage for Doing Thai-Only Job in Phuket
818Pilot replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Who’s to say this is some guy rubbing his wife’s feet and the photo is taken out of context! -
I could really care less if I have PR. As a Farang, you will be just as lowly as we are. Frankly, the decision on what I’ll have for dinner is higher up my list than PR would ever be. If this is your life, writing wasteful post, as a “soon to be PR” then you may want to find a hobby to better occupy your time.

I am leaving Thailand - yes taxes!!!

If you’re leaving, why are you still here responding to comments you don’t agree with? We understand it’s difficult being alone with no friends and the only people you have to talk to are random strangers on a forum like this. But simply put, no one really cares if you live here or not. I hope you get the help you need wherever you might go -
Pattaya Flourishes from Quiet Fishing Village to Vibrant Tourist Hub

Trolley folly: Tipsy tourists’ wild hotel ride in Koh Phi Phi (video)
818Pilot replied to webfact's topic in Krabi News
I’m not surprised and as long as they have no consequences then this crap will never stop. They should have been locked up for the night and deported. Oh wait, they are too worried it might tarnish the reputation and tourist might stop coming! Give me a F’ing break -
Scottish holidaymaker’s scooter disaster in Koh Pha Ngan
818Pilot replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
Travel insurance does cover motorcycle riding if you choose the right policy. My guess is that even if he had the correct policy, he was likely unlicensed for a scooter which would then have them decline coverage. Im retired up north, but this is why I don’t go near tourist areas on my bike -
Phuket Tourism Worries Mount Over Climate Change Impact
818Pilot replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
I totally agree, but they only seem to think about tourist revenue in all of their 1/2 thought out plans. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy to Phuket, there is nothing Thai left to the place- 91 replies

Big bike forced off road by car on Bangkok highway - video
818Pilot replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
As someone that’s been riding for 50+ years and is also a licensed pilot, the issue with most people is they have no Situational Awareness! I blame this on their lack of drivers education and how simple it is for those with licenses to get them. I see this not only with Thai drivers but also with foreigners, expats, and tourists. Growing up in California where lane splitting is legal, there’s a right way and wrong way to do it and this was definitely not the right way. I'm glad the rider is ok, but both drivers are at blame in this one. -

New Bangkok Rules Limit Street Vendors to Designated Zones
818Pilot replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Let’s see, tourist come to Thailand and rave about the fun of street food when they go back home and in return, more tourists come. But with this plan a tourist goes home and their friends say, how was the street food, it’s awesome right?, and they respond, nope they eliminated most of it and Thailand sucks now, I’m never going back. These 1/2 thought out plans cease to amaze me. -

Kids are having kids here and they are worried about sex toy’s, seriously!! The entire country is filled with overstayers and foreigners illegally working yet they opted to focus on the dangerous sex toy industry..gotta love their priorities. I bet all their wives now have some new toys though.
