What, are you the 7 police? You seriously need to get a life and just shop someplace else. -
I am leaving Thailand - yes taxes!!!
818Pilot replied to Celsius's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
If you’re leaving, why are you still here responding to comments you don’t agree with? We understand it’s difficult being alone with no friends and the only people you have to talk to are random strangers on a forum like this. But simply put, no one really cares if you live here or not. I hope you get the help you need wherever you might go -

Trolley folly: Tipsy tourists’ wild hotel ride in Koh Phi Phi (video)
818Pilot replied to webfact's topic in Krabi News
I’m not surprised and as long as they have no consequences then this crap will never stop. They should have been locked up for the night and deported. Oh wait, they are too worried it might tarnish the reputation and tourist might stop coming! Give me a F’ing break -
Scottish holidaymaker’s scooter disaster in Koh Pha Ngan
818Pilot replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
Travel insurance does cover motorcycle riding if you choose the right policy. My guess is that even if he had the correct policy, he was likely unlicensed for a scooter which would then have them decline coverage. Im retired up north, but this is why I don’t go near tourist areas on my bike -
Phuket Tourism Worries Mount Over Climate Change Impact
818Pilot replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
I totally agree, but they only seem to think about tourist revenue in all of their 1/2 thought out plans. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy to Phuket, there is nothing Thai left to the place- 91 replies

Big bike forced off road by car on Bangkok highway - video
818Pilot replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
As someone that’s been riding for 50+ years and is also a licensed pilot, the issue with most people is they have no Situational Awareness! I blame this on their lack of drivers education and how simple it is for those with licenses to get them. I see this not only with Thai drivers but also with foreigners, expats, and tourists. Growing up in California where lane splitting is legal, there’s a right way and wrong way to do it and this was definitely not the right way. I'm glad the rider is ok, but both drivers are at blame in this one. -

New Bangkok Rules Limit Street Vendors to Designated Zones
818Pilot replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Let’s see, tourist come to Thailand and rave about the fun of street food when they go back home and in return, more tourists come. But with this plan a tourist goes home and their friends say, how was the street food, it’s awesome right?, and they respond, nope they eliminated most of it and Thailand sucks now, I’m never going back. These 1/2 thought out plans cease to amaze me. -

Foreign Tour Operators Flood Phuket, Taking Jobs from Locals
818Pilot replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
The solution is so simple and why they can’t figure it out so perplexing. Take a big bus, start rounding them all up, put them in a deportation center and when they’ve got a plane full, which should take about 30 minutes, have a huge photo opp in typical Thai style and deport them. Rinse and repeat a few times and others should get the hint .- 124 replies

Destination Thailand Visa Sparks Interest, Faces Future Hurdles
818Pilot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The best is DTV for “attending a concert”. I think these people will be in for a shock after the first of the year and things are in immigrations hands for extensions or re-entry. While I’m not shocked anymore, this in itself just shows how dysfunction things are here. The left doesn’t speak to the right and no one thinks about long term consequences, as they are a short sighted bunch that only thinks about now -
What is a good sandwich filler? except cheese or ham
818Pilot replied to scubascuba3's topic in General Topics
Were you born yesterday or locked in a closet all your life that you can’t figure out what to put in a sandwich?! Adults need to not let their children play with phones! -
I spent most my adult life working for airlines. If Bangkok is your first port of entry and your final destination is within Thailand, yes you will clear immigration and customs upon arrival and then make your connection to a domestic flight. If Bangkok is just a connecting point to a flight outside Thailand from the international terminal, you are a through passenger and won’t have a need to clear immigration or customs, you would just follow the transit passengers signs.

Seriously, why would anyone come to this forum or any other for financial advice? But more importantly, nothing is set in stone yet, so what is said today won’t be the same as tomorrow. As so many others have pointed out, they can’t even collect accurately from their own citizens, do you really think they can from all the expats. Oh, and if you’re reading the gossip columns or the YouTube lawyer, that's not really a lawyer in country, about the requirement for retirement renewal, don’t, they are just rumors!

Thailand unveils new visa rules, sparks mixed reactions
818Pilot replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I wouldn’t give up my retirement visa for any of these and I have no issue with my 800,000 sitting in an account making little or nothing. Anyone that’s been here long enough know things will change 10 more times this year alone and once thing start biting them from not throughly planning long term, there will be further restrictions. So enjoy these while you can as I guarantee they won’t last and you won’t be “living” in Thailand long term like many think they will
