I did come across this quote, today, from a female pilot, when I was looking for information on any differences in safety records, based on gender. I think she summed it up well.

Russian Man Arrested for Drunk Driving in Patong

Think it is you that lack the logic or ability. But never let your arrogance get in the way you ignorance. What excuse do you give for when you drink drive? -
555 This has to be the funniest most irrelevant post so far. Can you please tell me which female pilot were sprinters at the Beijing Olympics, from your quoted reasearch paper, “ On the Implications of a Sex Difference in the Reaction Times of Sprinters at the Beijing Olympics” Bye , I am out, you have gone past being unrealistic, with no facts, no knowledge, to being simply ridiculous.
-
555555 Again nothing to do with the total skill base and knowledge needed to be a pilot. You’re just cherry picking research to meet a perceived agenda. Please show how these two research papers are relevant? “A comparative study of visual and auditory reaction times on the basis of gender and physical activity levels of medical first year students.” “On the Implications of a Sex Difference in the Reaction Times of Sprinters at the Beijing Olympics”

So now being a pilot is just a sport? Can you tell me how the pilot wins and what the prizes are? Here is a defintion of flying sports - Any activity involving aviation for recreation and competition. Flying sports include air racing, homebuilt aircraft, ultralight aviation, and hot-air ballooning. Being the pilot of a commercial airline is a professional occupation, hot a sport. Stop changing reality to suit yourself and post some real facts, for once.

55555 So nothing about or to do with female pilot standards, which is the subject of the thread. Do think I would not notice if you attempt to change the subject totally?

Russian Man Arrested for Drunk Driving in Patong
Georgealbert replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Yes agree. Anyone caught drink driving only have themselves to blame, no one else. I know so many people, that think it is OK to drink drive and use many excuses, such as, Drinking does not affect my driving, Its OK, because others do it. I can bride the police if I get caught. It is difficult to arrange a taxi. I want to save a few hundred baht the taxi costs. I will not have an accident I have been doing it for years and never had a problem. It is only a short distance. When they get caught it is the fault of the xenophobic Thai police, and they never want to accept responsibility for their own actions. -
So again you prove you have nothing to support your opinions. Bye and have a good day, I will no longer reply to anything from you, that lack any substances or facts. You can reply, as I am sure in your childish way you will think you have won the debate then!
-
55555 So you have nothing to support your views. I have posted facts, and you claim a rant. Try to post a constructive argument to support your claims of lower standards with real credible links. So I polity suggest put up the facts or shut up.
-
55555, what has sport got to do with pilots abilities? Is the the best defence of your opinions you can dream up? What have you proved right about me? Maybe that I have more knowledge on the subject than you and I don’t live in a fantasy alternative reality like you. Please provide a credible link to what you claimed about lower standards. Not an opinion piece or Youtube video, but a real aviation site with facts. How do you think you have hurt my feelings? It was you whining in the previous post, not me, I just posted facts. Anyone who knows me, know that I do not suffer fools and tell things as they are, so if I have hurt your feelings or you are feeling inadequate, GOOD.
-
Sorry but you prove it everyday, with your posts. Try posting something constructive. You asked me for a link to something that only exists in your head, with zero understanding of the subject. Bye and have a good day, be careful, as you’re as sharp as a marble.

Sorry, but I know you will find this difficult to understand, but pilot standards and training, is issued in guidance from IATA (The International Air Transport Association) and ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation). Pilot licensing is then dealt with by the countries aviation regulator, CAAT(Thailand), CAA(UK), FAA (USA), EASA (EU),etc. Here is a step by step guide to how to become a commercial pilot, from a flight school. https://atpflightschool.com/become-a-pilot/airline-career/airline-pilot-requirements.html There is no lowering of standards, the standards are the same for all, but that will not meet your perceived bigoted agenda, which shows you are unqualified, with no experience and no knowledge of anything you are posting. Find attached the latest, basic FAA handbook, but your attention span is limited to a maximum of only 50 words, so you will remain uneducated on the subject and lack the ability to stop your silly posts. https://www.faa.gov/regulations_policies/handbooks_manuals/aviation/faa-h-8083-25c.pdf

Back to your old misogynists and bigoted, conspiracy nonsense yet again. How many times do I have to say, if you want to be taken serious stick to the facts Did you even look at the figures and details I posted? Try reading the ICAO information. Can you also, please show a link to an airline that has or wants 50% women pilots, or that female pilots have a worse safety, or that female pilots are of a lower standard, or that airlines are accepting unqualified people. I am looking for credible aviation links, not a fake opinion piece off Fox or Youtube. Outside the alternative reality of Fox news and the like, there is no problem. It is only perceived by anyone stupid enough to believe Fox is a genuine news network. So again, I ask you politely to go away, with you tunnel vision, blinded bias, and use critical thinking and facts, if you don't want to continue to embarrass yourself. Just a reminder of you own words, “ Feel free to call me full of bullpucky. It is way out there”, before you yet again back pedalled in another thread, because you had nothing to back up your wild claims.

Russian Man Arrested for Drunk Driving in Patong
Georgealbert replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
It is a report in an English language news report, which is only reporting such details, to sale their story. Maybe ask the journalist to also report the number of locals arrested! You seem to think drink driving is OK as others also do it. If you follow the law you don’t have a problem, but your superiority complex, makes you feel you are be picked on. -
From CAPA - Centre for Aviation. “The global order backlog reached a record high in 2023… The global order backlog of passenger aircraft reached a record year-end level of 15,933 at the end of 2023. This high number of outstanding orders reflects both strong demand for aircraft and the low production rates of recent years.” https://centreforaviation.com/analysis/reports/global-aircraft-order-backlog-hits-13-years-airbus-beats-boeing-on-key-metrics-672470 I think Boeing are too well protected from any take over, just think there will be another change of CEO and/or senior management. Remember under the last administration, Boeing was protected from prosecution, after federal prosecutors entered into a deferred prosecution agreement with the company, from the previous max incidents/accidents. https://www.texastribune.org/2023/02/13/boeing-prosecution-737-crashes/ The government press release on the agreement from 7 January 2021. https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/boeing-charged-737-max-fraud-conspiracy-and-agrees-pay-over-25-billion We have a long way to go before seeing the Chinese Comac C919, as a serious contender. It will struggle to get overseas certification, FAA, CAA,EASA, etc.

So how is that relevant? Or do you feel the need to post the first few words on as many threads as possible? Do you support drink driving, because others do it? Easy to avoid getting done for drink driving, arrange a taxi, but there us always those with their superiority complex, who will be along to defend the drink drivers, blaming xenophobic Thai police.- 53 replies

If we can get past the normal bigots and misogynists and look at the facts, “The share of women airline pilots is very small - somewhere between 4% and 6%, depending on the data source - although it is increasing. According to ICAO( International Civil Aviation Organisation), the female cohort of airline pilots increased from 3.6% in 2016 to 4.1% in 2021. Data published by the International Society of Women Pilots (ISWAP) put the global share at 5.2% in 2018 and 5.8% in 2021.“ A 2021 survey found that, “Air India had the highest share of women amongst its pilots in 2021, with 12.7%. Next were Aer Lingus, with 9.9%, Hawaiian Airlines, with 9.3%, and United Airlines, with 7.7%. Lufthansa, Alaska Airlines, Air Canada, UPS, Qantas and British Airways were also above the overall average of 5.8%. At the lower end of the scale were Qatar Airways (2.4%), Emirates Airline (2.2%), Aeroflot Russian Airlines (2.2%), Japan Airlines (1.3%) and Singapore Airlines (0.4%)” Source - CAPA – Centre for Aviation https://centreforaviation.com/analysis/reports/women-airline-pilots-numbers-are-growing-but-still-a-pitiful-percentage-655755 ICAO released new data on the status of global aviation gender equality in 2023. https://www.icao.int/Newsroom/Pages/ICAO-releases-survey-data-on-status-of-global-aviation-gender-equality.aspx

Guidance on dangerous goods, was issued by CAAT (Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand), on 4 May 2021, which forbids electronic shock weapons. Seems the airlines are considering the mosquito racquets, to be a device that could possibly be converted into a weapon. Plenty of videos online, on how to increase the power or turn them into a teaser type device. I have no idea if they work. https://www.caat.or.th/en/archives/50160
-
I believe they are forbidden, because they are classed as an electric shock device, hence potential to be used as a weapon. This from Thai Airways, Thai AirAsia and Bangkok Airways.

Here is a summary of the report. The FBI sent a letter to passengers Tuesday, 19 March, confirming that the agency has opened a criminal investigation following the Jan. 5 blowout. The letter was sent by a victim support specialist at the FBI’s Seattle office was shared with The Seattle Times by a passenger, as well as an attorney representing several passengers on board. “As a Victim Specialist with the Seattle Division, I’m contacting you because we have identified you as a possible victim of a crime,” “This case is currently under investigation by the FBI. A criminal investigation can be a lengthy undertaking, and for several reasons, we cannot tell you about its progress at this time.” Mark Lindquist, one of the attorneys involved, said the FBI has not yet asked his clients for any additional information but he expects the letter is a sign the agency will ask to interview those on board.

Seems some airlines still support Boeing. Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary, maybe is just seeking a large discount with his support, as he earlier offered to buy up any 737 max aircraft, if other airlines cancel their orders. https://www.politico.eu/article/ryanair-michael-oleary-bruno-le-maire-french-finance-ministers-boeing-comments/
