That's a really sad list, and a lot of stuff missing.  More stuff missing than some of the really stupid stuff that's on it.  A building, a bar, abandoned buildings, a traffic light.

Seriously .... I did see 38 of those listed, and no desire to see most of the rest.  Probably missing at least 10-20 I think would be more important.  So much is missing it's mind boggling. That list is a joke.

PhimMai Hist Park isn't even on the list, or Ban Chiang Archaeological Park

    https://photos.google.com/albums

38 of that crap list, and surely you can do better than that.  Did you visit any of them?

    Could contain:

I've done a couple here and there. Like Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Udon.
I can't really do the others cause I travel mostly by bus and don't rent cars or motorbikes to get around. So unless I can catch a Grab for a decent price, I'm not going.

Wat Samphran looks pretty cool. That giant dragon you can explore must be kinda unusual. Same goes for Phraya Nakhon cave - that one I'll definitely do at some point - Ayutthaya as well.

Anyway. You've done quiet of few trips around the country, didn't you :) Not easy to find something that would surprise you !

India is pretty good.  Nice beaches, mountains, ruins, temples to see, nice people speak English and food, Cheaper than Thailand. Good visa, medical care, transportation, internet.  Pollution, crowds and garbage are a problem however. Definitely not boring.

India is one gigantic trash can.

Worse place must be Varanasi where people throw half burned dead bodies in the river and then swim in it and then don't wash and go straight to their street food stall to cater for westerners. Enjoy !!!

    Hi all,

I've just received my second education visa. That's not my second extention. I mean that I've already studied Thai at a language school for a year, left the country, and have now received a second new visa that I will be extending for another year. That will eventually make a total of 24 months.

One of the the teachers at my language school is adament that she knows a man here who has done this for 7 years, simply by going from school to school. I doubt this, but I'd like to know what people have heard.

I honestly do attend classes and study Thai. But I doubt I'd be able to switch language schools and take a third year of classes. So I was thinking about a Master's degree. But I wanted to hear if anyone knew of anyone successfully doing this.

    Thanks!

I've done it for three years and eventually got kicked out of the country.

I think 3 years is the limit.

But maybe if you choose to study something else, you might stay longer.

In CM I've heard you can study self-defense with the army on an ED visa for example.

    Anyhow. Good luck.

    Same as Thailand/Philippines/Cambodia,

Lots of poor and desperate women looking for an opportunity.

Some are looking to steal, some are looking for short times, some are looking for husbands.

Protect your wallet while enjoying what's on offer.

3/5 year VISA for $50 for foreign husbands with Viet wives.

I thought those guys had a booming economy !? Like double digits growth or something.

I've heard so many raving about how Vietnam is gonna be the next place to be to grow a business in SE Asia. I see, I see...

Worse part of my trip was Hoi An. What a tourist trap that town is :))

Anyway. Thanks for your reply. I'll keep my guard up.

So you're kind of a fan of Putin? That's very telling.

Well he is an butthole but a mercyless one with balls. I give him that.

As for Joe Biden and his democrats... What a bunch of losers.

They might actually be worse than Trump and his thugs.

    The end of an era...

I thought Putin was a wanted war crimes offender with an international arrest warrant out on him? Does Thailand not respect international law.

It's not international law but american fantasy. Nobody gives a rat's ass about that warrant. It's a lame US propaganda stunt that is gonna backfiring showing in the process how useless international institutions have become. I'm not a very big fan of Putin but I'm less and less a fan of the US as well.

Definitely a scam. Like you said, not normal at all for Vietnamese to randomly stop foreigners to show them around. Maybe a pig butchering scam or take you to a restaurant where you'll be charged huge prices and she gets a cut etc.

Ok, thank you. It's my first time in Vietnam so I don't really know local criminals yet :))

  8. I got stop by a young woman yesterday in Quy Nhon.

She asked me if I could meet her today so she can show me around and speak english.

I got her number but I don't really know what to do.

It seems weird to stop someone on the street and ask them that sort of thing.

I thought Vietnamese women were conservative.

I thought she might be a prostitute but really she doesn't fit the bill when it comes to the dress code of those ladies.

Anyway. Does this ring a bell? Like a scam you've heard of before ?

    Thx
