  1. We had it all wrong, guys !

I changed exposure on the pic and the background isn't a pitch-black void at all. It's a wall. The same wall you can see on the second pic (with those stripes on it). It's actually roughly the same angle but at different times.

Same angle but not same coordinate as some details don't match.

This is gonna make things a lot harder. That <deleted> bar could be anywhere...

OP, could you please be a bit more specific about what you know and don't know about this place ?

  2. I'll have to agree with you on that one, bignok.

I've always called BS on those telling me "Ooooh! I banged a ladyboy the other night! I didn't know she/he was one!!!"
Yeah, yeah... You knew and you couldn't resist :)) And now you fear being seen as gaylord.

Well, bro !!! You are and that's ok :))... But never walk behind me again, alright. Especially if we're drunk...

Americans (US passports) require prior permission from VN to get a visa on arrival.  I didn't know that when I tried to fly from Phuket to Danang last month.  I was denied boarding in Phuket.  My Thai GF was fine.  Thais and most others can get visa on arrival. Of course, it cancelled the vacation.  We'll try again next month.  I got approval from the embassy through an email through Vietnam electronic travel authorization online (about $80).

    Damned. Historical resentment?

It did last nearly 7 years... perhaps they saw potential change in Pattaya back then. The changes will come but very slowly.

Indo-sino-geriatric Pattaya is on its way alright but I dont really understand how it would benefit that kind of business...

Good time to be shopping for a VPN service and/or deciding what ones to renew.

Last few years, just as Amazon has been expanding their Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales, it seems a lot of the major VPN providers have been starting their promotions up to a month or so ahead of the big days...

Will have to see whether that pans out the same this year...as we head toward the end of October.

    Good to know. Thanks :)

  6. Hua Hin is amongst the most boring places I've visited in Thailand. There's nothing to do there. Everything is flat. The bar scene sucks big time. Not the nicest crowd in Thailand to be fair. The beach is disgusting and the sea is super salty.

I mean once you've been to Khao Takiab and the old town, you're more or less done. True you can take a car a go see a couple of waterfalls and a fake italian town a couple of kilometers away. But man, I wouldn't like to retire there even if I was paid for it.

They got an excellent immigration office at Blueport though. One of the best I've been to in Thailand - super friendly and fast.

No seriously, I'm calling BS on that one :)) Forbes is full of it.

Maybie they mistake digital nomad with remote employed for a big corporate entity who could claim a smart visa? but those dont seem to be many.

I consider myself as a digital nomad, as im freelance, work 100% online and travel every year bettewen France and Thailand.
Im also married with a Thai and 50+ so i dont lack of options for my visa.
But i may be an exception.

Yeah exactly. Smart visas are not that common and I don't see why Marriott would take any interest in them. It doesn't make any sense. It's almost like TAT and Marriott are talking about 2 different things here.
