  1. "...six additional witnesses would be allowed to testify."

Would these be the additional witnesses they denied could testify on behalf of Yingluck or are these additional witnesses for the prosecution. Just curious.

So it isn't good enough that Yingluck has been ousted by a judicial coup because the DPRC didn't like the election outcome, nooo... now the NACC has to turn the knife a few more times. Let's put the little lady in jail because she happens to be the brother of Thaksin.

Maybe she should be tried for more than one crime because she's been accused of committing more than one crime?

    That's normally how it works.

Or should she only be tried for one crime and be let off the others?

    Is that what your saying?

  2. Yea well keep up the Yingluck bashing..

btw who was the Defense Minister again? oh right Yingluck is still the defense minister, the CC's ruling does not ban her from caretaker DM or for the upcoming quorum, where she will face an impeachment hearing in the senate once the election is over and she is party list candidate#1 and then the impeachment process will fail to get 3/5s for impeachment, then she will be PM again with full powers, so might as well hold onto that DM portfolio, since she aint goin nowhere

Please define exactly what she did for the benefit of the country, because I just can't see it. I would love to know.

Me thinks some bashing may be due, if not well overdue! Just my opinion of course.

Abhisit is opening a road to reform, AND offering to not stand in the next election if his (logical ((is there a Thai definition?)) plan can be given a chance...

...whereas the Shins are doing what exactly? Inciting civil war if they're found guilty of the crimes they committed.

Hmmm... once again I find myself wasting my breath...

  3. If it takes a civil war for the majority of the population to retain their civil rights then so be it.

The majority of the population do not want a civil war. Just a few nuts who are mostly on Thaksin's payroll.

The majority of the population want their democratic vote, after having it stripped from them.... again... Because they just won't vote in the 'correct' people, d@mn them. rolleyes.gif

I would like to see an election where only people that pay taxes, eligible students and senior citizens get to vote. The results would be astounding I'm sure. wink.png

So, you would completely ignore and disenfranchise the millions of rice farmers, tuk-tuk and taxi drivers, the millions of street vendors and mom & pop businesses who pay little to no tax, and who never had the opportunity to get a higher education? In other words, the OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of Thai citizens. Seems like I heard something like this a few years ago. Only those with a Bachelor's Degree could vote. Oh, yeah. PAD leader Sondhi Limthongkul. You related to him by any chance?

Here's the problem. It's not about the vote. It's about what happens between elections. Thaksin's policy is "you voted me in, now I do as I please until the next election". He's said this publicly before.

This is so far from the concept of democracy as the people aren't being listened to or represented between elections, and are easily tricked to vote again with a bit of 'candy'.

This is why things need to change.

Simple enough for you? (Probably not).

  4. Those of us who've never been robbed through our car windows at knife point can't really imagine what it feels like, and therefore it's difficult to judge someone who's been through this experience.

Rage could be a very possible reaction, and armed with a fast car against a moto, I for one would certainly be tempted to give the guy a little 'nudge', at the very least. As they say, "just saying" :)

  5. Is this the guy who's was recently reinstated after a 5 year ban from politics? Another shining example.

He did an interview with the BBC yesterday, as one of the only English speakers in the govt he actually came across as quite legit.

Of course, no decent questions were asked at all, the BBC seems to be pandering to this bunch, strangely biased towards Thaksin, not mentioning any of his wrongdoings, or the possibility that YL may actually be guilty as charged.

  6. Meaning nothing unless the police have the balls to go bring him in to face the charges. At least YL face the court. What about you Suthep?

He hasn't gut the guts to face his charges. Yingluk is more of a man than this slimy little worm will ever be.

Yingluk probably got was coming to her and she took it like man. Suthep is a coward.

Suthep is basically charged with standing up against the wrongdoings of the current govt.

Yingluck, on the other hand is being accused of serious abuses of power, and is unable to explain where billions of dollars have gone.

SEE THE DIFFERENCE? Maybe too subtle for you!

There's plenty more coming in her direction, let's see how she handles it.

Unless of course she can explain where the missing money is from the rice scheme.

Did they check their back pockets? Oh there it is, another honest mistake.

  7. After looking at the video I'm wondering if there's some 'ex-men' amongst the contestants. Definitely some large jaws and fake tits, most look like they've had some work done. Call me old fashioned but I prefer natural boobs and a beautiful face which hasn't had surgery, rather than these 'plastic fantastics'.

Good on the sponsors, I'd refuse to pay on the basis of false advertising :)

  8. I know a Thai school which has a 'relationship' with a Thai Uni. After students had been ushered through the school, where they were sure to pass every exam (as long as they went to the 'extra lessons'), they were guaranteed a place at University, where I can only presume they all passed and left as clueless as they began.

Everyone passes. Everyone's a winner. Except in reality where they're all losers, as this list may suggest.

  9. I want the books to be scrutinized and I want the graft to be investigated and I wish for Yingluck to spend at least 1 day in jail for each 1000 baht of money or worth of rice that is unaccounted for. Meanwhile, let's say that she can pay it off at a higher rate ( because we have to add interest at 25% per year ) See how much lost money and / or rice miraculously suddenly reappears. I think that would be extremely leniient on her really...

You guys are hilarious. You think she took the money? You really think that if money did go missing she should be the one and only to be punished.

If it did go missing it will involve thousands of dirty little mittens in the pie.

I never said or implied that I think she took it all. But she accepted the job of puppet PM hence she is the boss ( supposedly ) and hence the buck stops with her and I am sure she knew what was going on. She should take full responsibility. I am sure she knows where a great deal of it went and I am sure she could 'arrange' for it to be returned with the right motivation...

Agree. It's about taking responsibility, a foreign concept; something she wouldn't be familiar with.

Family motto should be "buy your way out, or fly your way out!"

  10. For once, China is leading the way on how to deal with corrupt politicians.

Corruption at a national level affects more people than drug smugglers and is much more lucrative!

The punishment should fit the crime (IMO).

Government corruption is unforgivable. It should be an HONOR to serve your country at a national level, not an opportunity to fill your pockets.

It's a shame that this attitude just doesn't exist in most countries (not just Thailand).

  11. Further to my last post:

I'm seeing a pattern with any thread regarding Thaksin or family (for a few years now).

    We're going around in circles.

Arguments are repeated again and again.

No one is 'changing sides', everyone is frustrated.

Personally I'm bored of reading people's posts defending the systematic pillaging of Thailand (in my opinion of course), and almost as bored posting logical arguments which fall upon deaf ears.

So, I'm going to stop wasting my breath and my time.

Seriously people, no one is changing sides here!

Maybe it's time for me to accept other peoples opinions, even if I know they're wrong ;)

My solution; crack a beer open and celebrate the weather, or the fact that you're getting laid, or maybe the fact that you're not stuck in a council house in England, or in a retirement home!

Over and out (for the time being). Cheers!

  12. You guys make me laugh!

First of all you jump straight on yingluck for posting on her Facebook however when a person in this position goes to Facebook to make a point it's ok.

Second to the poster who remarked about the carry on at the airport and uneducated masses maybe he should reflect on the utter disaster the yellows caused not Thailand but the world with their actions several years ago

If you want to make it class warfare then maybe you could call your mob educated scum!

They threw shit. Human shit. They crapped in their hands and threw it. How can you defend these people?

If I remember correctly, the yellow shirts were non violent in their airport occupation, not that I totally agree with their actions, but they didn't intimidate, threaten or throw their own shit at anyone.

Black and white, no pun intended.

So your saying that people that throw sh*t like monkeys and celebrate terrorist attacks in Trat is bad?

    Me too.

    Welcome to reality.

It's a sad state of affairs indeed. Anyone wanna buy a condo? I'm feeling a bubble about to burst!
