SO my neighbor in the guesthouse was telling me about his recent visit to CM IO
He was on a 60 day tourist visa and was asked for a TM30 to get a 30 day extension.
Is this a new thing in the past a receipt of accommodation was enough, some have suggested IO's even ask for a key but as many pointed out most guest house and hotel do not label their keys anymore as security, so its just a random set of keys in the street if someone finds them.
Now he is going for a visa run and the bus company is saying he must bring a TM30 for that also he is just doing an IN and OUT to get a 30 day visa waiver on arrival
I may also do a 30 day extension in CM to my 30 day VOA but it seems strange that Immigration may be asking for TM30's
Did he just get unlucky and get a IO who did not know the difference between certain parts of his anatomy?
Am I going to have to aske GH for a TM30 instead of just my usual receipt of accommodation.
Is this the Thai kneejerk to doing away with their valued TM6 Arrival/Dep card?
Thanks
