But they are so cute and lovely!
They don't kill many people, out of 8 billion, only a tiny percentage is killed by pitbulls.
They only kill the old and weak, this old lady certainly had some preexisting condition, otherwise she would have just run away. And why does she live in a pitbullish neighborhood, anyway?
If you have a good defense, you are safe.
BTW I am moving to Sam Khok next week. Anybody knows where to buy a second hand Abrams for my defense?
What you are claiming is sheer nonsense.

All currencies these days are fiat currencies. They are backed by nothing durable. They are backed by public confidence, and that relies upon the supply of a currency being related to the availability of goods and services. "Money-printing", e.g. through ever-expanding unproductive debt, obviously increases the money supply resulting in its devaluation (commonly referred to as "inflation").
Financialisation of government debt - central bank loans to government to cover ever deepening budget deficits - is likely to get worse in the foreseeable future. So be prepared!
In the days when paper money was promissory notes to supply gold, its purchasing power fluctuated only slightly over centuries.
Gold is difficult to wrest from the ground, and cannot be conjured up out of thin air. It is a hard asset. Not a credit note.
The down-side of gold is that it does not produce interest or dividends, but on the contrary there is a cost of storage and insurance (except to the extent that one may hold a small amount in a secure place at home)
Putting some cash into the shares of a gold royalty/streaming or established mining company (NOT an exploration company - highly speculative) can be a way of deriving some income from gold investment. With leverage - up or down - in capital value, depending upon whether the gold price is rising or falling.
When purchasing bullion that is to be stored and insured, it is important to make sure that the dealer transfers it to a reputable, specialised bullion storage company and that you personally are listed as the owner.
Some Thais lost their stored gold during the crisis of 1997. Their dealers retained the gold in their own name [it was not "allocated"], perhaps holding it as security against borrowing, and when they went bankrupt their creditors took the gold.
Gold that is held in secure vaults is very quickly and easily sold in on-line dealing, using the same dealers through which it was purchased.
If interested, it may be worth perusing these sites :
Gold may not generate interest, but has the potential to appreciate in value. In the past 7 years gold has more than doubled in value.

An easy mistake to make, just exiting the car for a few moments can go wrong... take our the keys or at least have a spare set in your bag
I always have an entry key in my pocket. Also have one secured to the underside of the vehicle. The key only unlocks the vehicle, but cannot start it.

So much time and effort is wasted on petty accusations like this in Thailands governance.
This is probably why little seems to actually get done here..

Yes of course you are right but 1) if 20 minutes delay is enough to miss connecting flight why buy it ( today 28 minutes late)
2) why do airlines sell it especially if possible compensation is a real possibility
I never buy tickets with less than two hours between connecting flights and if having to pass through customs and immigration, at least three hours. Rather wait than miss a flight

Go online to one of the many booking sites or a hotel's own site, book a hotel pending payment, print that off to a PDF, submit PDF with your application.
Job done
Thanks for the advice, but I asked how to document staying at a private residence and not how to game the system.
Hopefully, this will be cleared up before the rules go into effect. This year we will be in Thailand in November and I will inquire about it.

My question is for people like me who travel around are we gonna need to provide an entire itinerary for the trip ?
Because last year when I applied for a visa, it was approved even if I had only booked a hotel for my first week.
What about travelers, like my Thai girlfriend and I, who stay at a private residence? How do we document that?

How do you explain cases of long Covid in unvaccinated people?

They need training as a pup so these things don't happen when they are grown up.
My last two dogs were "rescue dogs." I had nothing to do with their upbringing with one of them having scars (rope burns around his neck) from abuse. Both were a pleasure to have and loved children. I really miss them.

I know one colleague. The couple own no mobile devices except the mandatory company iPad the husband needs for training and flights. You have to call them at home on a landline to make social arrangements !
They do have home internet. I don't think one can exist in USA without online access or somebody to help you get online , for access to healthcare and other services. It is only going to become more essential .
I get by with a flip phone and a laptop only because I am retired, although it is getting to the point where a smart phone may become a necessity.

I still go with the training part, its the owner responsibility for what they became. I had a rottweiler that came to me at 1 yr old with issues, by the time I was done with him he wouldn't hurt a fly and was docile, goofy, and lovable to the day he died (best dog I ever owned - miss him every day). Wouldn't fight over food in a bowl, played with children, and even had pet cockatiels that would stand on his back while he smiled. Have had many dogs, I will never accept any aggression of any kind from my dogs, I am the one-and-only Alpha Male, period.
If any one of my dogs growled at me when I attempted to take a bone from them was soon down the road.

These xl bullies are banned in some countries like the other killers as they are totally unsuitable to be kept as pets. When their genes get into the soi dog population picking a stone up or waving a stick will get you nowhere.
In the U.S. many insurance companies will not issue a homeowners policy if you own certain breeds of dogs.

I received an email " Confirmation needed"
According to the email, I had won a cordless power tool kit from the Milwaukee Power Tool Company. In a raffle I had never entered.
No doubt, if I had clicked on the confirmation link, all kinds of nasty things would have happened to my laptop, and /or personal data.
Has anyone else seen this email?
I get these kinds of emails everyday in my SPAM file. Just delete them.

Yeah, I hate people, especially large amounts of them crammed into one place. I went out of my way to rent a beach-side surfer shack (20ft from the water) on the Island of Kauai back in 2009, the whole beach pretty much to myself for 2 weeks, I even left my computer at home, and only turned the flip phone on to call family and tell them I landed safely. Best vacation I ever had, now I am living in one of the most congested cities on Earth, this is Hell.
Hawaii continues to price itself out of the market. Even mediocre hotels are ridiculously priced. Now the locals are hell-bent on shutting down the money making short-term rental industry, which includes surfer shacks like the one you rented.

.... as in trying to lose weight, not maintaining.
Calories aren't a major weapon used here - unless you look to buy heavily processed ready made meals.
I was eating a single Pad Kaprao a day for a week, and some fruit on the evening. Didn't lose anything.
Went behind the scenes to see how this Pad Kaprao was being made (under the guise of being a good customer). My goodness this isn't some healthy meal, little bit of chicken mixed into some spicy veg and some rice. Hell no. Instead the volume of oil used was enough to burn a building. She then proceeds to add 20 large spoons (i literally lie to you not) of sugar, followed by endless volume of a salt called MGM. So you think that's it ... no there were more. Once finished she began to put some butter into it, a proper massive lump !!!!!
The sheer volume of salt and MSG put into the rice was astonishing.
I came away thinking this isn't just some minor small meal. This is a one hell of a calorie laden meal.
My question is to you all ... how on earth do you count calories here and lose weight ?
Ever heard of starting out your meal with salad greens and a low-calorie dressing? Yes, I know it's normally not found in a typical Thai restaurant.

I live in a small town/village and don't have an animal shelter. Any advice on how to trap the cat?
If you can't buy a small wire cage trap with a trip plate, trying making one yourself or pay someone to make one. Make sure the bait is at the end farthest from the entry. As other have suggested drop off the cat miles away.
Try an online search for what an appropriate trap looks like and how it works. Good luck.
Another alternative is a pellet gun. I bought one to shoot mongooses which were attacking our baby chicks.

I have 5 cats and have had to build a place to keep them safe as there is a cat which comes regularly to my property and attacks them. This has been going on for a couple of months now. My cats have lost their freedom.
I know I could easily poison it, but I don't want to cause any suffering. Anyone know what else I can do?
I've always trapped cats that attack our two cats. They are taken to the local animal shelter.

along with the new evil axis, CH / RU / NK
The economically challenged, get most every thing, medical, for free, almost. But like the Thai govt' system, patience is a virtue, at govt or hospitals that accept Medicare/cade.
The working stiff, if lucky, have employer paid insurance, covers most things, small or no deductibles. Or used to.
Private insurance is just silly, and now ACA (obamacare), made everything, even sillier. High monthly premiums, big deductibles, and many policies don't even kick in till you already paid $10-20k out of pocket for the year. That's freakin' nuts.
Only real medical bills I had there, were OJI (on job injuries), back & 100% covered. To return, I'd get hit with a huge penalty to sign up for Medicare plan B (meds), and then have to pay ~$174 monthly premium, that doesn't cover much per se, as costs are so much higher than TH. I can't spend that much here on healthcare. USA monthly premium & deductibles, so much more expensive that self insured here. And, healthcare is accessible here. No GP, no specialist referral, months away, not deductibles for both appointment.
What's really strange is, if you have insurance, the pharmacist, is legally not allowed to tell you, it is cheaper (if it is) to simply pay cash for the generic drug, instead of using your insurance, as your copayment is more than the cash cost.
That's mind boggling, talk about a scam.
On topic ... the healthcare here, negates any of the silly items in the OP, along with those RE Taxes that basically don't exist here. Keeping housing cost ridiculously cheap.
Throw in the inexpensive solar & EVs from CH, and you can live very inexpensively here without giving up anything.
Fortunately, I don't suffer that much from our broken healthcare system. Being covered by both Medicare and Tricare I rarely have out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare even pays for the annual Medicare deductible. I don't pay for Medicare drug coverage because my prescription meds are greatly discounted through ExpressScripts.
I basically agree with everything else you mentioned. We are being screwed by the socialistic woke crowd. Really feel sorry for my children and grandchildren.

Can I get skin cancer in Asia?
in Health and Medicine
Posted
Don't know how old you are, but it took me 84 years before developing basal cell carcinoma. I just has surgery to remove it. This is probably the least dangerous form of skin cancer and is usually caused by exposure to UV rays.
