    Twice with oysters. First time, intentional. Second time, by mistake. Once by under cooked shellfish, some kind of sea snail. Cipro worked all 3 times. Sometimes that is all the pharmacies stock. To be safe I stay away from all shellfish, cooked or not, when visiting Thailand.

    Never got sick from eating raw oysters until Thailand. Cipro saved me. Evidently they are not a problem for MOST Thais.

    Without the losers who is going to do the "dirty work"? Who is going to serve in the military and police forces? Who is going to farm, ranch and provide basic services. Money is worthless if there is nothing to eat and nothing works. If everything shuts down and anarchy rules the affluent are toast. Can't happen in America? Don't fool yourself.

    I wouldn't call having the world's record for coups stable. More than 20 since 1932. As far as visa requirements go, I am going by comments made on AN over the years. What happens if your stay is based on marriage and you get divorced or your spouse dies?

    All the world also notices that the U.S. is losing its grip as the leader of the free world. The latest policies on immigration are discouraging new talent that has been the backbone of innovation.

    Much of the flood damage in China is being caused by the release of water from dams and some dams completely collapsing because of record rainfall.

    Yes, sooner or later it involves monetary damages and it will never be enough to satisfy the descendants of the victims. It will go on and on. The offense doesn't necessarily have to be genocide. In Hawaii, the issue is the overthrow of the monarchy.

    You are correct with being concerned about adequate medical care and its costs. Age takes a toll and the older we get the more fragile we become. You can be thankful your wife has adjusted to living in Australia.

    Most of what you say is true or actually occurring. However, China's debt is roughly 1/3 of what you claim or $16.65 trillion. Things don't look good for Xi and IMO his days are numbered.

    The airline that I fly requests handicapped passengers to phone in the request. I am also asked whether I can make it to my seat unassisted, which I can.

    I find wheelchair assistance quite convenient. One phone call does it all.
