Cannabis & Hemp Bill goes to Thai Cabinet next week
Arindos replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
They could follow the norm in places such as Sri Lanka and India, where drugs such as cannabis and hemp are tolerated for traditional medicine (such as what you can buy in 7/Eleven in Thailand), and in some regions it's used in weak traditional foodstuffs. -
Indian short film on transgender issue to be adapted for Thai audiences
Arindos replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I've always wondered why there isn't more cultural exchange on LGBTQ issues between Thailand and India. The two regions share the same concepts of homosexuality and transsexuality, and tourism between the two countries is very popular. -

Arindos replied to balo's topic in Health and Medicine
Ayurveda (found in places such as India and Sri Lanka) used/uses opium and other drugs such as cannabis in their medicines. -
Three weeks of Songkran celebrations begin April 1st
Arindos replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Songkran is a major festival in South East Asia and South Asia. It makes sense that there would be a large amount of tourism from the region and staggering it across three weeks is going to allow for hotels to keep full vacancy to cater for all the tourists and also keep flight/hotel prices lower. -
Teenagers Terrorize Chonburi Neighborhood with Explosives
Arindos replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
If these teenagers were from Muslim background, they would never have used the word "terrorize" in the article to describe them even if it was a terrorist attack. -
Most don’t trust Supreme Court on election cases: Poll
Arindos replied to Social Media's topic in World News
If you divide any opinion poll into rightwing and leftwing, it's always the rightwing that places lower levels of trust in the establishment institutions compared to the leftwing. -
The bare fact is that mainstream media in the US and much of the western world (and India) is exceptionally leftwing to the point that the majority of the population are critical of it.

Thailand in Crisis: Population plummets by 500k in 4 Years
Arindos replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The population decrease is a phenomenon in virtually all of non-Muslim Asia Pacific. Hindus in India have birth rates similar to China/Korea/Japan whereas Muslims have a birthrate similar to Sub-Saharan Arab Africa. -
UK Considers Aircraft Carrier Deployment to Red Sea as Tensions Rise
Arindos replied to Social Media's topic in World News
The United States will not send troops into Yemen, in part because the Saudis are more than willing to do that if the situation ever arises. What I see in the Red Sea is more military involvement from the Indians and Chinese. The US will then focus on countries in the Iranian sphere such as Iraq, Syria or Afghanistan/Pakistan. -
King Charles III diagnosed with cancer, Buckingham Palace says
Arindos replied to webfact's topic in World News
I wonder if it is more serious because Prince Harry is returning to the UK. We could see another succession this year too. -
The Ram Mandir was a grassroots movement that began around the time the BJP was being formed. I find that the left wing communities tend to be more homophobic than right wing communities, in part because most of the people who would be considered "progressive" in western countries are on the right wing in India. The left wing has more negative associations such as religion, corruption, caste, etc... I'm not sure if a particular state is less homophobic than other states.

Well initially Europe would hire privateers to protect shipping and then moved onto using the navy directly in the 1700s which was when the US was founded. Remember that Europe was the main naval powers at the time of foundation and so the US could rely on European allies but now the tables have turned.

The US military has to be in the Middle East to defend shipping and other US interests against piracy and terrorism. The US has been fighting piracy on the seas since it was founded even throughout its isolationist era. And remember it was Palestine that struck Israel first and not the other way around.
