  1. I don't think authorities can prove their wrongdoings.
  2. True, but rules are rules. When the country you choose to live in has these stupid rules (like immigration), you should follow them. If not, move to another country. We are guests, and should behave like that. Stay under the radar, abide to the common rules. Quite simple, though ploughing my way through all the insults I get, the alcohol ban must be touching a sensitive spot. Friendly advice for the Dinsdales, Quakes and all other loudmouths: https://aathailand.org/ Have a nice day
  3. Another insult. Alcoholism must be a serious problem among some of the members. Do you have anything to contribute, or you just like to call people snobs?
  4. No, I am not a bot nor am I a nasty person. Language? It was you using several insults in your comments to support your 'I'm more Thai than the Thais' claim. You live in Issan? Good for you. Maybe you can eat insects with stivcky rice and bamboo salad with your Thai drinking buddies. Do you know how do the Thais call foreigners who like to hangout with village alcoholics? 'Ban nok' or 'kee niaow' farang. BTW, how is your Honda Shadow these days?
  5. And there it is, the I-live -in-the real-Thailand chestnut. I doubt it, as your understanding of local customs and traditions is sub-par at best. Imbibing liberally? I don't drink alcohol.
  6. Yes, there is. Customs form an important component of what we call 'culture'. And one of the customs is to not to drink alcohol on religious days, whether you like it or not. Why do you think I don't understand Thais? Have we met, or are you drunk already?
  7. Wrong! Part of Thai culture is NOT to offer a drink on religious days. That you befriend the village alcoholics, who probably need a drink to function normally, is your choice. Types like you, who insist on consuming alcohol on Macha Bucha day, give other foreigners living here a bad name. You should know better, as you are bragging on being here for 20 years. Have you ever ventured out of Pattaya?
  8. The Chinese? You mean all of them?
  9. It's indeed disrespectful to openly drink alcohol on religious days. What reality am I living in? A sober one, for sure. I have also been here for more than 20 years, but as I need to apply for extensions every single year, I consider myself a guest. And good guests should behave accordingly, imho.
  10. You are guest in a Budhist country with strict alcohol rules since forever, and you dont want or cant limit your intake for just 1 day. Talk about being an alcoholic and disrespectful attitude towards our hostr.
  11. No, they won't. Only the village alcoholics will.
  12. I see quite some kids in my moo ban, some not older than 10, vaping. So yes, there is a problem.
  13. Tourists and locals will still spend their money, be it on different things.
  14. I love these alcohol rules. Hilarious to see Thai supermarket staff trying to explain the alcohol purchase rules to Russian bodybuilder types. BTW if you know what you can get OTC in the pharmacies, you will never drink again. Alcohol is so overrated.
  15. At least half of the AseanNow posters weighs 30 stones or more.
  16. As I wrote, a filthy habit. Stay home!
  17. Smokers and their pathetic rooms smell terrible. It stinks. If you cant resist the urge for a couple of hours, just stay home. Easy peasy.
  18. And yes, there is the 1st openly racist comment. Low iq?
  19. Of course, any idea how expensive it is to get someone back and insurance doesnt pay up? Your family might fo the same if it was you.
  20. Phuket, krabi are very busy, Bangkok and CM also from what I hear. Thailand will break all records this year, 40 million or more. The real question is at what cost? Traffic horrible, plastic waste everywhere, scams, drunk tourists, and so on.
  21. They.....them, or just 3 scumbags beating up 1 man. I sincerely hope that these quality tourists are placed in detention.
  22. China will send more of its criminals and polluting industries tourists.
  23. You mean 'an employee', as most 7-11 staff look quite unhappy to be honest.
  24. Of course he wants to keep them illegal, as his buddy cronies need cheap labour. Why pay a Thai 350 baht a day, if you can get a hard working refugee for almost nothing. This Pumwan guy is scum of the first degree.
