  1. Has it ever caused a problem, doesn't appear it has, so what's the concern?
  2. It's a non news event anyway, just another money wasting supposed intelligent useless research of no value.
  3. I have met K Sudarat on a number of occasions, nice lady but I didn't go too much on her politics - too red for me, although she might have mellowed a bit lately, and I agree she could make a good minister.
  4. Old age pension by itself is not taxable as its below the tax free margin, however, if you have other income from investments, real estate income etc, it along with the pension has to be figured into your yearly tax return - if the total is still below the tax free threshold there is no tax payable.
  5. Mandatory truck stop, ha ha ha, you can't get then to stop for stop signs etc....
  6. I recieved my pension for over 12 years, paid into my Aust account with Centrelink fully aware that I was resident O/S. From memory the only request I received from C/L that was a bit out of the ordinary was a request for copies of prior tax returns over the past few years, this was just see I was / wasn't being under or overpaid.
  7. You poor misguided individual, you'll have most of the posters here crying for you.
  8. Unfortunately yes they would dare, self interest over rules any legitimate / moral considerations.
  9. If the changes to resident /non resident rule passes, the ordinary pensioner living O/S will be euchre and hit with the tax, this will be from $1 onwards. It is already the "rule" but as pointed out many times it can be and is circumvented - luckily to the advantage of expats .
