  1. Reading this kind of sad news, I feel How Lucky We(expats from the 1st world) Are. Can stay on, in own favorite country with relative ease; without committing any immigration violation. And able to enjoy the Positive Aspect of the host country. To the people who are here as Migrant Workers(legal or illegal) from the poorer countries, daily scenery could be quite different...
  2. Thank you for additional info. It reminded me of the publication read in 1990. Titled "Children without hope". Covering the 8 YO worker used for less than a dollar(for 13-14 hours/day) at the brick factory in South Asia...
  3. Sorry for some errors in my posting . I mixed 2 separate topics up(while looking at 2 stories one after another). Maybe I should request to have my post erased for correction....
  4. Would not know what happened behind the scene. But it is the good news. Welcome home...
  5. Tax's chief's empty bark(in May last year). Ended up as Empty Bark, as predicted...
  6. Do they start to notice, it is sheer waste of their time & energy? Finding out they can collect little or no tax money from the expats not working here. Therefore it is not worth it; fruitless efforts(what Thais generally hate worst).
  7. 21st century world, still said to have 49 millions in the state of "Slavery" in various forms. This minor incident seems to be disclosing part of it... 50 million people worldwide in modern slavery | International Labour Organization
  8. Still, the limit of the overstay fine is THB20000-. Each day, 500. So after 40 days, it is actually the same same whatever long it is...
  9. As a expat staying here for nearly 2 decades, I strongly agree. In my experience, the nastiest ones are in: Mae Sai(Thai-Burmese)border check point. As well as Chen Wattana(BKK). There were always some bastar* in uniform whose joy of life is posing hostile to the foreigners. Nice ones: Mae Sot(another Thai-Burmese border) check point. And Chiang Mai office has got mostly kind polite men and women in charge. Would like to hear anyone else's experience...
  10. They found a Ugandan overstayer while cracking down on disturbing Indian tourists due to online demand? Is this a kind of Collateral Damage, from her perspective? Without those troublesome Indians, immigration cops might not have devoted that much energy for the beach patrol...
  11. Not so nice try. Even if she could trick them for a moment, she can only buy sometime before sent to detention center. First, into hospital. Then onto...
  12. Looks pretty much like that. Because it is caused by some individuals' thoughtless acts that made headlines(with their nationality disclosed) sometime ago. Thai people wouldn't know semitic/antisemitic things in the first place. I bet they have no idea what Judaism is all about. Therefore they cannot really be either pro or anti semitic...
  13. Just like famous old quote: 3 Jews, 5 opinions. Looks like their best part. Sweeping statement(regarding particular kind of people all good/all bad) is often the hate mongers' sick logic mostly from their Tunnel Vision(caused by the lack of knowledge).
  14. Sounds very reasonable. Jews are said to be very diverse sorts of people. One famous quote about them: 3 Jews and 5 opinions. And actually, there are also Judaists against current Israeli policies(oppressing Palestinian refugees in the neighboring areas). During 1960s’ Civil Rights Movement in USA, Jews were said to be one of the first group who supported its cause...
  15. The post's author expressed security concerns, feeling anxious with only two women managing the establishment. --------------------------------------------------------------- They might sometimes need a stout man with goon outlook in their shop, to deter those foreign Riff Raffs; as the human guard dog. Lowlifes often do/demand something unreasonable when they feel it is safe to do so. If they feel they will be easily overpowered and mangled, even the pea brains will behave themselves.
  16. Salute to the decisive immigration bureau's response. Whatever the nationality, it is good to shut out of the Persona No Grata(trouble making alien) for the peace and safety of the people of this kingdom. As well as for the reasoned travelers/ expats.
  17. Hello, KhunLA, Beautiful food image. I would like to try this Mexican Stir fried dish in the next few days, with the local ingredients...
  18. Good morning. Today's breakfast fixed around 5am, before I make my way to the local market I frequent. Rice porridge with chicken, vegetables and poached egg. Ingredients: Cold cooked rice(from yesterday), chicken mince, onion, shredded garlic shoots, spinach, and water. Seasonings: Chicken stock, soy, oyster, and fish sauce, grated ginger.
  19. Think so. Hightech criminals are often a few steps ahead of dumb bureaucrats.
  20. Good afternoon. Another version of Cold Yellow Noodle and Bonito Stock Vegetable Soup. Sweet and hot sauce for the noodle and topping. Ingredients for main dish: Yellow noodle, carrot, cucumber, onion, steamed chicken breast. Seasonings (of sauce): Vinegar, soy & oyster sauce, sugar, grated garlic, and tiny amount of chili powder. Ingredients of soup: Bean sprouts, Pak choy, eggplant. Seasonings: Bonito stock and soy bean paste.
  21. Migrated for Mass Killing? Exactly the same motive of settlement in Hostile Territory, as the bomber of the World Trade Center in 1993.
  22. Even if the media doesn't disclose where they are from, they are nearly revealing where they are from by themselves: Screenshots below shows it. Look at what that woman is wearing over the head.
  23. Does it include "Magic Bullet"? Back then, Warren Committee concluded one single bullet from Oswald's 6.5mm Carcano M91/38 rifle, hit multiple victims including JFK. Technically impossible BS, officially announced as the statement of US govt. I still remember this masterpiece watched decades ago.
