British Man Allegedly Assaults Thai Village Manager

I think Brits punching elderly locals in the face might be more responsible for inciting racial tensions. Similar incident three days ago.- 146 replies

Phuket Beautician Hit by Slingshot in DNA Test Dispute

I think that finding out your wife was sleeping around and you had paid to support the child of the other guy for many years would be a frustrating situation to be in. unfortunate for the chubby beautician though. -

Sounds difficult but not impossible. Could take a while. I really wanted to do it before buying the villas. Maybe I will use the thai company way and transfer them over to my own name from the company when I get my citizenship. if anyway knows of an agent who can do it I would appreciate the contact. Maybe they could speed the process up a bit. I don’t mind paying a bit extra to the right people.

Thinking last night about getting a Thai citizenship. Benefits would be I could buy investment properties in my own name and would not need to deal with immigration which seems a bit of a hassle here to be honest. eg I needed to pay an agent to open a bank account last week and it took a lot of time. All that wouldn’t be necessary if I was a citizen. i would buy pool villas to rent to tourists Airbnb because the returns are higher and get a maid to clean them which will be cheap in Thailand. Long term rentals don’t appeal, returns seem low. I assume this would disqualify me getting free healthcare in the UK? but I am about to get some health insurance in Thailand anyway so will not need it. I have heard the hospitals here are much better here, more like a five star hotel with no waiting times? How about my pension? Will I still get it? Won’t need it if I have investment properties but it would still be handy. what other advantages and disadvantages are there? I am learning Thai language and will marry a Thai lady within the next year and move upcountry. I can’t see myself ever leaving Thailand to live anywhere else. Any thoughts appreciated.

What does the average British expat think of Tommy?

Just another example of a frustrated angry Brit whose father abandoned him and then watched his mother bring other men into the house. He isn’t too bright. And I know he would hate my Thai girlfriend who isn’t white enough. So I will be happy to see him locked up again.- 413 replies

It is a very helpful forum for someone like me who is new here. If you can not find something you can just ask and get helpful information. Glad I found it, especially for the visa stuff. Just a few weirdos with some sort of chip on their shoulder. Who are probably the ones causing all the trouble with their attitude. Easy to spot the ones with issues.

That may well be true but us Brits make up less than 10% of the total number of tourists here and seem to making up 90% of these unsavory incidents sadly. There is not even a close second.

Sounds like you are trying to shift the blame from the Brit attacker to the Thai who was just doing his job? Perhaps that is part of the problem with us, we can not admit when we are in the wrong? Which goes back being “entitled” The British man, named Matthew, has been living in the village with his Thai wife for several years. He is known among the security guards as a hot-headed person who frequently causes disturbances. After being physically assaulted, I’m terrified of this foreigner because I’m old and work alone in the office. If this aggressive resident barges in to yell at me or assault me again, I won’t be able to fight back,” he said. 67 year old smaller Thai man.

I only arrived in Thailand permanently two weeks ago. And joined this forum to get visa advice which was top rate. But this forum seems to be more about Brits behaving terribly in Thailand more than visas. Murders, running up sexual service bills and refusing to pay, assaults, sexually assaults on kids, human trafficking, working illegally etc And that is just what is reported, it is probably 100 times worse. I have to say this entitled behavior by my fellow countrymen is very embarrassing for me. We hate immigrants behaving badly in England and are quick to criticize. But it seems we are worse. A lot worse. what is wrong with us?? The Thais are so lovely and so many of us treat them terribly. We should be showing gratitude and respect. I hope they deport him and all the other trouble makers.

British Man Arrested in Thailand for Posing as Tour Guide

Have they been caught running illegal travel agencies, bashing Russians to death, doing bill runners in brothels, running over the locals, touching up kids sexually? Or do they behave themselves as guests in a foreign country should? One thing I do love about the Thais is that they have very good manners, are very hospitable and welcoming. I can’t recall ever meeting a Thai Karen. we Brit’s can learn a lot from the Thais.
