Krungsri Interest Rates
CallumWK replied to Foxx's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Keep arguing mate, I gave you correct information. Mee Tae Dai has a branch version that pays 0.9% , and an online version that pays 1.5%, and can only be opened by Thai nationals. First you said it had the same name, but was online, then you changed it to it has another name. Since you obviously don't appreciate any help, you're now on my ignore list. -

You definitely didn't open one online, as that can only be done by Thais, and pays 1.5% instead of the 0.9% you get -

CallumWK replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
A TIN is not only useful to PAY taxes, but also to CLAIM them. I havea TIN since several years, haven't paid a single baht in taxes ever, but have claimed over 100K in withholding taxes back over the years 🙂 -

If you keep your funds abroad, like the proponent of it, then you don't have the choice to transfer only when the exchange rate is favourable, unless you live like a beggar on 10K a month. Also, the poster in question claims to get 4%, that is 2% more than you can get in Thailand. On the 800K deposit for your long term visit that is a difference of 16K, which is entirely lost on agent fees and transfer / ATM fees -

I thought BOT left interest rates unchanged at the last meeting. My European banks informed me last week that as of December 1 they will drop interest rates on all savings accounts by 0.2% I signed up for a 4 month fixed term deposit at Bangkok bank 2 weeks ago paying 2%. Longer terms fixed deposits were significantly lower. -

Since you bring up the EOL impact on resale, I have another question, which you may be able to answer. In those EV threads, I always notice the fanboys bragging about the lifetime warranty on their batteries, which the manufacturers have increased from several year to lifetime. I know for a fact that lifetime warranty on other things, like for example PC RAM, ends when the manufacturer discontinues that particular model. Do you think same logic applies to EV batteries, because with the quick changes of EV models, lifetime could actually have a very short span?

Not sure something was lost in translation, but where you got the impression I'm going to fill it? I consider emptying it, and leaving it empty indefinitely. Firstly I planned to fill it with soil and make a flower bed of it, but friends advised against that, since it would render the pool unrecoverable if I ever decide to sell the house. I don't recall if there was water after we dug the hole, but I think not. The info about the borehole pump, which hangs at a 35 meter depth and runs dry after 10 minutes, as I presume that is an indication that the groundwater table is very low. The pump is on an automatic timer, which runs it for 10 minute cycles every 30 minutes, to prevent it running dry. The borehole feeds my inground storage tanks, not the pool directly.

I don't think there is a set time for the exchange rate. Yes they will set the first exchange rate for the day at 9.30am. After that, if there is little trading it may remain unchanged until the next day, if there is heavy trading it may change many times during the day. I recall to have seen more than 9 changes in a single day on the Kasikorn website during heavy trading days

I have a 6 x 11 meter inground pool, and I consider emptying it, because it is more a burden than it is an enjoyment. The house with pool was built 15 years ago, but I very rarely use it, and I'm single. At the same time it has to be maintained, and it actually prevents me from traveling for an extended period of time, because of that. So I consider from emptying it and covering. I have read on the internet about pools that get lifted out of the ground, or get cracks in the floor, because of the groundwater. My pool is tiled concrete. What are the risks here, considering I live in a flood free area. I have a 35 meter deep bore, and I have to put a timer on it, otherwise the pump runs dry after 10 minutes.

Israelis in Thailand on Alert After Security Warning
CallumWK replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
My point being, terrorists don't give a damn about how many Mosques are in the vicinity when they plan an attack. All they care about is killing as many people as possible, preferably the least of their own religion. -

You obviously are not in that category My reply was to this post, which gave the indication that the Full moon party was safe from terrorists because many nationalities gathering there. https://aseannow.com/topic/1343402-israelis-in-thailand-on-alert-after-security-warning/?do=findComment&comment=19378679 I contradicted that, pointing out that not many Muslims will be at the event, so Muslim terrorists would not hesitate to attack. Of course, to understand the meaning of my comment, something more than a 2 digit IQ is required, which is obviously not a given for you going by the few other pedantic posts from you in this thread. -

I wonder why you want to quote my post, and deflect from the point I was making. Since you don't seem to be the brightest light in the garden shed. there will not be many Muslims on the Full Moon party, and neither are there in Bali, which is 87% Hindu
