  1. Hi I will be doing my first Multi Non O Visa (Based on Marriage) Visa application next Week (Tuesday) I think I have everything paperwork wise that is sorted out but need some advice on a question I have, first this is what I have prepared already

Marriage Cert plus copy (Copy signed by my wife & myself)

Kor Ror 2 (Just in case needed to prove we are still married & signed by the both of us)

My Passport  & copy of main Page signed by me

Wife's ID card & copy which has been signed by my wife

Blue House Book & Copy of Main Page with my wifes name & address, signed by my wife

    Laos Visa Form filled in

Thai Consulate Non O Visa form filled in

    3 x Photos for visa forms (1 x Laos & 2 Thai)

Now for the question I have, I will be traveling with my wife & Son who have Thai ID cards, I heard they need a boarding pass & 1 photo (50 Baht each) which covers a short stay in Laos) where do they go to get this ? is it on the bridge ? where about ?

    Thanks

The Pound will fall to B30-35 after a hard Brexit crash out and stay around 39-40 id a soft Brexit. It will rise to B50 if we remain. I warned the Brexiteer economic suicide squad here at the time after they voted to leave and the Pound fell 20%. They then told me "don't worry it will climb back up within 3 weeks! Currently I am losing 27% of my pension's values compared to when the Conservatives first announced a referendum.

The High Baht has also take effect on the £ as with the US. AUD & CAN $ as well as the Euro all are down about 20%, I remember when the £ was around 65 then in 2008 the banking crises happened which hammered the £ & it started to drop to 50 then high/mid 40's, then Brexit in 2016 which sent the £ down further it's going to take a long time or I may not see it in my lifetime to see the £ go back up to the 60's again.

    Just to clarify your post.

You can get almost 13 months from 2 x border crossings and 2 x 60 day extensions.

You can get almost 17 months with 3 x border crossings and 3 x 60 day extensions.

That is correct, you will need to make sure you do a border run just before your visa is going to expire (Not you 90 day stamp) then you will get another 90 days & you extend this for 60 days which will give you close to 17 months from 1 year visa

In some ways, yes. But financial proof is still unnecessary for the 60-day extension to visit your Thai spouse or child.

That's correct as you are applying to stay for another 60 days not 1 year so no need to show 400K in the bank & if they did ask to see your bank book you would need to have 80k to cover the 2 months cost of living (40K x2) but I have never heard of this happening Nong Khai must be on wacky backy 555 or has not thought of this, his way would mean you would have to do 4 Border crossings every year after you get the visa from Savannkhet & 90 day stamp re-entering LOS at a cost of 1100 Baht per Laos Visa if paying in $ so in total 4400 Baht (to get around 15 months from the 1 year visa) the way to do it with 60 day extensions would mean only 2 Border crossing a year after you get the visa from Savannkhet & 90 day stamp re-entering LOS at a cost of 1100 Baht per Laos Visa if paying in $ costing 2200 Baht, Plus another 3 x 60 day extensions (1900 Baht each) so 5700 Baht bring a total cost of 7900 baht (to get around the same 15 months from the 1 year visa) I know you can do it a little different to get close to 17 months out of the 1 year visa but the cost adds ups. in the end you pay 3500 Baht more doing it via the extension route but you have 2 less Border runs (Costing 2200 Baht) to do & you saves money on travel cost, less stress & saves pages in your passport (you will use around 6 pages a year but with the extension way you will use around 4 pages per year)

Yes You are correct in some parts of this ( Go & Get an extension instead of a Border run ?? ) That's O.K IF You have the 400k in the bank to show the IO For the Extension,IF You Do Why would you go to the trouble of getting the Multi " O " In the 1st Place,Just get a SINGLE Entry & Then you can EXTEND For 1 YEAR ( & That's only 1 Time to pay 1900 Baht ) IF You have the required amount in the bank.....That IS !!!!!

Why do you need to show 400,000 for a 60 Day Stamp ? on the form you just put to see wife & child, never been asked to show 400,000 in the bank for 60 Day stamp LOL 555 that's for a 1 year extension visa stamp which is the rules when you apply to get your visa extended by 1 year but for short extensions eg 60 days, 30 days you do not have to show any money just pay 1900 Baht, I came in with the same visa from the UK in 2015 which you get in Savannkhet 1 Year Marriage Multi Entry done a border run & got an extension for 60 days they did not ask to see 400K before I switched over to the 1 year Marriage Visa a few years back

Valid for 1 Year from date of issue,You still have to do border runs every 90 Days or Less...But If you do you're last one the day BEFORE or on the day the Visa Expires you get a further 90 Days on Re-Entry to Thailand But You MUST Re-Enter BEFORE The Visa Expires....So you can get very close on 15 Months out of The Original Visa......

Sorry but your info is wrong, you don't have to do border runs every 90 days, you can go to your local IO & get a 60 day extension stamp for 1900 Baht so you get 150 days before you have to do another border run then you repeat this again so you are now up to 300 days then do another border run which gets you 90 days now as you stated you need to do another border run just before the visa runs out not the 90 stamp & you will get another 90 days, so 365 days (Your 1 year visa) + 90 days then get a 60 day extension stamp so you can get close to

17 months out of the 1 year visa ????

Your marriage certificate and a copy of it, copies of your wife's house book registry and ID card signed by her. Copy of your passport photo page, a completed application form with 2 photos attached.

    No financial proof is needed.

Hi UJ we have 2 marriage certs issued to us when we got married one for the wife & 1 for me do we need copies of both ? also I take it this should be copied with both sides of the marriage cert plus what about the Kor Ror 2 or 3 the one your local Amphe issues to prove you are still married do you need this ?

  8. You don't have to leave Thailand every 90 days you can extend it at your local IO for another 60 days for 1900 Baht so you get 150 days then you will need to hop over the boarder if you plan it correctly you can get 17 months from this visa by going & getting an 90 day stamp just before your visa runs out & getting an 60 day extension so you get around 17 months

  9. OK guys I have read this post & it seems people are confused so I will breakdown the visa cost for a Non O Multi Entry Visa based on Marriage, this does not include the travel or hotel & any additional fees as we all come from different parts of Thailand & like to stay at different hotels

STEP 1 Apply for Non O Multi Visa (5000 Baht) valid 1 year then go back to Thailand you will get 90 Days stamp (NOTE THE COST FOR A LAOS VISA IS AROUND $35 OR 1500 BAHT BEST TO PAY IN $ NOT BAHT AS YOU WILL SAVE MONEY)

STEP 2 When the 90 days are coming to an end go to your local IO & get an 60 day extension (1900 Baht)

(SO 150 DAYS IN TOTAL SO FAR WITHOUT LEAVING THAILAND AT A COST OF 6900 BAHT (Does not include Laos Visa fee)

STEP 3 When the 60 days are coming to an end go over the boarder (anyone) & come back in, you will get another 90 days

STEP 4 Repeat Step 2 (60 DAYS 1900 BAHT) (SO IN TOTAL 300 DAYS SO FAR WITH 1 BOARDER RUNS & TOTAL COST SO FAR OF 8800 BAHT) (Does not include Laos Visa fee)

STEP 5 Repeat Step 3 (90 DAYS BUT ONLY USE UNTIL YOUR VISA IS DUE TO EXPIRE) SO THE MAX IS 65 DAYS

(SO IF DONE CORRECTLY THIS WILL TAKE YOU UP TO 365 DAYS (when your visa expires) WITH SO FAR 2 BOARDER RUNS)

STEP 6 Repeat Step 3 (90 DAYS) (Do this just before your visa is about to expire to get another 90 day)

STEP 7 Repeat Step 2 (60 DAYS 1900 BAHT) (SO IN TOTAL 515 DAYS SO FAR WITH 3 BOARDER RUNS & TOTAL OF 10,700 BAHT) (Does not include Laos Visa fee)

So if done correctly you can get 515 days (17 months) max out of your 1 year multi Non O Visa

TOTAL THAI VISA COST 10,700 (Non O Visa Plus & 3 x 60 day extensions)

TOTAL LAOS VISA COST (4 x visitors visa $140 or 6000 Baht best to pay with crisp clean $ bills as it work out about 5600 Baht )

HOTELS & OTHER FEES (UP TO YOU ????)

YOUR PASSPORT WILL GET FULL QUICKLY AS LAOS VISA'S TAKE UP A WHOLE PAGE SO 4 PAGES IN 1 & HALF YEARS PLUS ANOTHER 1 & HALF PAGES VISA EXTENSION STAMPS SO IT MY BE BETTER TO GET THE BIGGER PASSPORT WITH MORE PAGES IF YOU ARE FROM THE UK.

  10. Hi thanks for the reply, I will go into a little more detail so hopefully it will help

Arriving on Thailand on the 5th Nov (single non O visa 90 days) and then will extend by 60 days based on seeing the wife, which will take me up to April 2nd 2016, now the kids break up school on the 1st, so I would like to extend the 60 days by a further 7 days and then go to Los for a Multi (year) non O visa based on marriage with the family

  11. Will not be doable as O-Multy based on marriage has to be used no later than the enter by date. It will only be feasible to get a 60 day extension for visiting wife until your last 90 day entry.

That is not correct. Any of the 90 day entries can be extended by 60 days. There is no requirement to wait for the visa to expire.

You can do 90+60 then a new entry and repeat it. Then another one that would give you 15 months total. Or you could skip the last 60 day extesnion and do an entry just before the visa expires and then extend it and get 18 months total.

    Hi Ubonjoe

Just read this post and a little confused on how you get 18 months in total, lets say I get a 1 year mulit o visa starting from June 1st

    1st June (90 days)

    1st Sept (extend 60 days)

1st Nov ( visa run and another 90 days)

    1st Feb ( extend 60 days)

1st May (visa run and another 90 days)

    1st Aug (extend 60 days)

Visa expires 1st Oct now as it more than 1 year so in total 450 days (15 months)

Or do I do the following

    1st June (90 days)

    1st Sept (extend 60 days)

1st Nov ( visa run and another 90 days)

    1st Feb ( extend 60 days)

1st May (visa run and another 90 days)

31st May (visa run and another 90 days as yearly visa is about to expire)

    31st Aug (extend 60 days)

Visa expires 31st Oct now as it more than 1 year so in total 480 days (16 months)
  12. Guys please remeember Italy have not won there last 7 games so they are not in good form, England do have a young squad and some good players who are the future of England, Rooney will need to shine in this world cup as it will be his last, no one wants a fat 32 at the next world cup. Also this might be the last worlds cup for Gerrard & Lampard so they will give it there all.

I think England will win 2-1 and they will make it to the quarter finals, remember if they win the group they will have easy teams to play in the second round.

  13. Hi is it a good idea to do chicken farming, I was thinking about getting 50 chicks, do any of you have the setup cost including food and the cost I could sell the chickens for once they are big, looking at keeping the eggs for us to eat and maybe sell a few

  14. Cheers HL.

Sounds like a nice place to be.

Will be home in Korat for a week in April (the week after Songkran). Not sure if my wife would allow me to sit and get friendly with female students tho?

Or even look at them lol,

  15. Strange that the people of Sissakhet still vote "red".

The hospitals have been suffering since the introduction of the 30 baht scheme. Good policy to get the poor to vote for you, but Mr T neglected to fund the scheme. The hospitals are at breaking point and there is nothing that they can do.

The horror story above does seem exceptional. A quick look at the OP's posting history shows that he has an ingrained hatred for Thai hospitals. I, for one, have never had a bad experience.

Don't forget that most of the private hospitals in Issan are staffed by moonlighting government doctors. The same ones the OP was slagging off, meaning that the diognosis, decisions and treatment are likely to be the same. The only difference will be the bill.

The stories about the best doctors being in Bangkok or Pattaya or where ever is deemed elitest, because that is where they studied, is also misleading. When medical students graduate they get sent to hospitals where they need Doctors. The last time I visisted a government hospital here in Issan my main two doctors were not from local provinces.

Take a look at the internet and search horror stories from hospitals in the UK or USA or mainland Europe. There are many, many stories and they ususally end in a death. This particular story did not.

Sorry, but one bad story does not make a bad hospital. If the service was really constantly that bad, there would be reports all over the place and there would be more westerners on here complaining about the funeral music going on for days and days in the villages.

Not if the people who owned the sound systems died, if would most likely be sold off to pay for there funerals LOL
