For fresh veg (avocados, asparagus, broccoli cauliflower, Brussel sprouts, tomatoes, onions, carrots, fresh peppers ...) seafood (frozen mussels, shrimp, clams), and poultry as well as a number of regular staples like plain yogurt, feta cheese, red rice and stuff like that, I use freshket every couple of weeks. They even have taco shells, tortillas and the like. it also has really cheap huge fresh dill, cilantro, basil, and green onions. Arrives the next morning, For other meats, I order from Sloanes and Smoky Mountain (also has mainland cheddar) once a month or as needed. Once you have done your first order, you just reorder items as needed, no searching or faffing about, Milk and stuff like fresh herbs, tarragon, sage thyme etc I'll go down the block to Villa when I need it. fruit comes from the fruit guy that passes by the house daily.
-
interesting, beyond visits to Villa to pick up goods I can't order online, or emergency bike parts so I can ride "today rather than waiting," I order everything online. I haven't set foot in a mall since before covid and that suits me fine.

indeed. the op makes it clear this applies to purchases with discounts applied. The OP even highlighted the relevant passage in blue.
-
did you apply free shipping or any other discount?
-
Did you read the post? Op makes it clear they understand that.

I understand the meaning of the word remittance. What I don't understand is that you are telling me as a tax resident if someone on-shore transfers 800k into my account that would not be considered reportable and taxable income.
-
If they are scrutinizing income, 800k passing through an account would be notable, remittance or not. or so one would think...
-
<deleted>, but having that 800k pass through your account for 15 minutes does raise some interesting questions relating to the new income tax policies

There is often a charge for the first year as well.

Thai High-Risk Groups Urged to Get Covid-19 Boosters

I had one under duress and never returned. -
Slang exists, people use it. Language develops over time, each generation adds words while traditionalists, gatekeepers of language, and dullards of your ilk squeal that it's inappropriate. Its you that is wrong, nobody cares whether you, personally, see humour or don't. We are too busy moving forward.

ah, a woman to match your personal mythology

No, not reading the news article and making crass remarks about the unfortunate and now dead -- that's stupidity. Inferring it was not a tragedy and that they deserved it makes you a turd of the highest order. You are also unbearably smug and entitled to assume that even if they were in the back of the pickup, they had any say in the matter. Safety ranks fairly low on the hierarchy of needs of people with limited opportunities and income -- when someone tells you to get in the truck or miss your chance to work, you get in the truck

Thailand’s Bold Move: Decriminalising Sex Work Sparks National Debate

Same as weed. Watch them legalize it without any forethought or finding a way to tax it. -

describes my experience at a Thai university for a few years when I first arrived in the late late late 90's 15 hrs a week of class time, plus the summer off with pay all for 35k per month all in. I doubled that or more with another 3-5 hours of public lessons each week in the evenings I arranged my classes so I worked three days per week and between us, the foreign teachers signed each other in on days we were off-site. During the summer the lower-level Thai teachers would sign the foreign and senior teachers in so we could travel. Sadly that became problematic in my final year before I joined the corporate world. At the ripe age of 25, it was a brilliant gig while it lasted. As I understand it, English teachers don't get paid all that much more now.

Then find soemwhere else to live ffs.

New Rules Restrict Street Vending to Low-Income Thais Only
madone replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
I have been very close to a coffee vendor and a pair of noodle sellers who used to operate outside my front door until someone recently chased them up the block. They were wonderful neighbors for nearly 15 years, even keeping my driveway swept and helping feed my cat when I traveled. They work incredibly hard. It pains me to think some poorly thought-out arbitrary policy change will cost two families their living. -
