  1. The only official information provided by The Thai Revenue Department might give you some answers. https://www.rd.go.th/fileadmin/user_upload/lorkhor/newspr/2024/FOREIGNERS_PAY_TAX2024.pdf
  2. Looks like they don't act equally in the local revenue offices over the country. We will have to follow their advice, I guess.
  3. I'll tell you why so many foreigners turn up at the local revenue offices around the country: The information from the authorities regarding the new definition of the existing tax code is lousy at the best. It is a disaster, and people are trying to understand what the hell is going on and what the rules are.
  4. Why do they never stop at Zebra Crossings? Lack of common sense.
  5. She might be wrong, check again. I asked at the Revenue Main Office if I could use the space at page 4, section 11, line number 13 for my tax credit and they said no. When I asked where to claim my tax credit they answered that the forms have not been updated yet and will not be until next year and gave me the advice not to file but keep all the documentation as proof that I have paid tax in another jurisdiction and that's what I did. From their official guide: No. 11 item 13. Withholding tax credit and tax credit for tax paid in accordance with ภ.ง.ด. 93 and ภ.ง.ด. 94 When you received income during a tax year, the law requires the payer to withhold income tax for some types of income. In some countries, this is called “pay as you go” or “pay as you earn”. In Thailand, it is called “withholding tax”. The payer is also required to issue you a withholding tax certificate similar to this picture. If the payer refused to issue a withholding tax certificate, the payer is subject to a criminal penalty. You may receive many withholding tax certificates if you have received income from different payers. The form should tell you how much of income tax was withheld. The withholding tax can be used as a tax credit. Other items may also be used as a tax credit, such as: 1. Income tax that you have paid using ภ.ง.ด. 94 (half year filing). 2. Income tax that you have paid using ภ.ง.ด. 93 (advanced filing). 3. Dividend tax credit (only in the case that you have filled in No. 3 item 5. and item 6. The amount is the same amount in No. 3 item 6. Please add up all the creditable tax in No. 11 item 15. This amount will then be deducted from your tax payable in No. 11 item 14. You will have to provide documents to the Revenue Department to prove the amount of withholding tax.
  6. They are wrong, get it in writing and don't file. It is a mess.
  7. To file or not to file has nothing to do with if your personal allowances are greater than your income. It only means that you don't have to pay tax, but you may still have to file, which depends on how many days you have been in Thailand in one calendar year AND the size of your assessable income.
  8. I was contacted by a broker that recommended Regency Assurance, he said that they were likely to accept my application but exclude my pre-existing conditions.
  9. The same happened to me regarding dividends sent over to Thailand (tax already paid in US). They said that their forms have not yet been updated to include tax credit and told me not to bother if I had already paid tax somewhere else. Maybe next year.
  10. The forms have not yet been updated. A lot of stuff is missing, maybe next year.
  11. How about an offshore company registered in Hong Kong and a DTV in Thailand?
  12. How about visiting a large private Thai hospital, they'll find out what's wrong.
  13. A white foreigner in Thailand calls another white foreigner for "Farang" is the same as when a black US guy call another black US guy for "Ni***r".
  14. Don't forget to file your tax return and possibly also pay tax on the amount sent over.
  15. I will file my tax return but have selected the source and amount sent over so there will be no tax, ever. 😂😂😂
  16. You can apply anytime. I always apply for my visa extension and re-entry permit simultaneously.
  17. Be aware that your visa extension will expire in July 2026, the same date as your passport. Make sure to have a new passport ready before July so you can move the stamps from the old passport to the new and make a new extension. If you overstay because you are not ready with a new passport you will be deported, no mercy.
  18. First he wants to digitalize everything, then he is screwing up the visa system and tax the foreigners before moving the capital. Why screwing up a nice and pleasant country?
