Thailand Election 2026: Bhumjaithai Nears Substantial Win
Ok, I know this is the Ganja party and it's good to know that ganja will now freely flow in Thailand. What about his stand on immigration? Is the DTV going to last and do they have adverse opinion about the DTV? I switched to DTV from a Non-O and hope it lasts. One naturalized Thai American whiner keeps on making YouTube videos about how the DTV has upset his apple cart. Anybody care to opine.

Critics urge '25th Amendment' to remove Trump from office
You are talking dangerous thing. That is what happen to the rise of Hitler. What Hitler wanted to do was nothing secret. He had already laid it out in his infamous book "Mein Kampf" , He wanted all of "Slavic" land because he considered "Slavic" people not human. While Trump is not saying that but he is already saying that Europe is weak. If Europe does not stand up against him, he will occupy Greenland and nobody can do anything. Hitler was stopped in his eastward expansion due to the Russian winter and Stalin's resolve to move 2500 industrial enterprise into Siberia within three months. If Hitler would have captured Russian oil fields, it would have been very hard to defeat him. Trump is already building a slash fund out of Congressional oversight by selling Venezuelan oil. He may use it to capture Greenland. US desperately need Greenland not for security but to somehow pay for 40 trillion debts, just like Hitler needed money to pay for wars.

US Suspends Immigrant Visa Processing for Thailand
It has nothing to do with military bases. China, India, and Vietnam are not on the on the list. Thai immigrant spouses are heavily on welfare with extremely low on education and are unable to find any job. The US should stop all "marriage visas" where the immigrant spouse has little chance of finding any meaningful job and will most probably apply for welfare.

options for a 6 mo stay without leaving the country
After twenty years in Thailand using visa runs, ED visa, O-A visa, agent assisted O visa, eventually I settled for a DTV visa using digital nomad category. Entering and exiting Thailand at my whim was more important to me than anything else. I will see how long it lasts and if the IOs have any objection in the future or not.

TM30 and 90 day reporting - Jomtien Immigration
I'm claiming moral high ground because paying agents and IOs in immigration helps lot of people who are unfortunate to earn in dollars.

TM30 and 90 day reporting - Jomtien Immigration
I did not break any rules. I got my COR without any TM30 update. I upheld the sprit of the rule for the immigration to be able to locate me whenever they want because they have my most recent address.

TM30 and 90 day reporting - Jomtien Immigration
My address never changed in the five years. Immigration always have my most recent address and can locate me anytime they want. I did not feel there is a need for TM300 filing.

TM30 and 90 day reporting - Jomtien Immigration
For the past five years I have never updated my TM30. Needed a COR for purchasing a MC. Refused at the immigration because I have not updated my Tm30. Went to an agent and paid 500 baht for a COR from the immigration without any TM30 update. Where there is a will, there is a way.

How much weed do you normally consume in a day?
I consume 6K baht/month. Almost $200/month. My largest expense after food/eating out. I don't drink alcohol.

The US government shuts down and Trump rightly gets the blame
America is the only country where government is shut down for health care demand. A few days ago I walked into a Chinese third tier city Ganzhou with my passport and got treated for less than $50 and walked out within one hour. No waiting, no complicated procedure. A Chinese national with medical card would have gotten the treatment for free.

TM30 is required if you want to avail immigration services. I can't think of any reason why one needs immigration services on a DTV visa.

British Expat Shares Thai Retirement Costs, Inspires Moves
He may be young but again how did get retirement visa? 50 baht meal is not palatable for me. Even a decent Thai meal costs more than 100 baht. My meal costs me 15-20K per month.

Down and out in England.
Go to China. There is a great demand for English teachers in China. China is highly developed and very cheap to live, Stay there for three years, save up enough money and then you can go back to England or come back to Thailand.

DTV, remote working and tax
I never said that it's a new scheme. I only said that no where on earth is considered illegal.
-
DTV, remote working and tax
No, it's in my personal account. She gives me money from her personal account and I return at the end of the month when I withdraw money from my 401(K). Nowhere on earth it is considered illegal.
-
DTV, remote working and tax
It's bull<deleted>. I am not cycling into my business accounts. One can cycle as much money as one wants in their personal accounts. I have been in business for forty years. I know what is legal and what is illegal.

Buying a new Samsung phone soon
I will not buy from Lazada. I have seen several friends were burned on Lazada phone purchases. I will buy from a shop at tukum. At least you can go there and complain and demand for them to fix it if something goes wrong.

DTV, remote working and tax
Sure, I will post it here. Why it will be classed as fraudulent? My sister can send me money for any reason. I can also send her back for any reason. When 50% DTV visas are done for generating income by making Thailand videos while being at Thailand which is obviously a fraudulent activity.
-
DTV, remote working and tax
Thanks for the input. I already have a system set up where my sister send me $1000-$2000 from Dubai every month and I send her back from another account the same amount. This has been going opn for more than six months. I also have my AdSense check amounting $400-$500/month deposited every month. ChatGPT has already suggested me to include a link and a screen shot of my website. I will take the risk and if it's rejected, I don't mind losing the application fee. A DTV visa will be give me enormous flexibility. The O extension requires me to be present in Thailand during my extension time.

DTV, remote working and tax
I am going to apply for a DTV visa from the US Chicago consulate next month for arrival in October. I am retired now and live for 6-months every year in Thailand for the last 20-years, starting from using Tourist visa, visa runs, ED visa, OA visa and agent assisted retirement O visa. I had a condo in Jomtian that I sold last year and came back to the US and let my Non-O re-entry permit expire. I have an Arizona LLC since I graduated from my MS in mid 80s. I've worked for big name IT companies like MS, Oracle, Intel, and many small bay area companies remotely as an regular employees and also on 1099 contract. But now I have retired and on SS and my income from the LLC is less than $400 from AdSense ads from a couple of websites. I also have SS $3400 and close to a million in my 401(K) and IRA and Roth IRAs, non-deferred investment accounts and high yield saving accounts combined. S&P 500 was a blessing for me for the last 10 years. Long story short, I am trying to leverage my LLC to get a DTV based on the "workcation" category. If I succeed in getting one, I will post the details of how I did it. Otherwise, I will simply apply for a three month Non-O and get an agent assisted extension like before. I like the DTV because it gives me flexibility, compared to an Non-O extension.
