Majority of Thais Doubt New Cabinet’s Ability to Cut Trump’s Tariffs
Knight Rider replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I don't think it works like that for Trump. Before all these Tariff wars, The average EU tariff on US goods was less than 2% and the average US tariff on EU goods were also comparable, except some targeted tariff on certain goods. Now the average tariff on EU goods to the US is more than 15%. -
Last year I sold my condo in Pattaya (Jomtien) and came back to the US. I have enough savings (around 500K USD) and I applied for SS to start from September. I will get around $3,000 per month. I am bored in the USA, though I live in a FL beach town. I like beaches. My US daughter lives in IL and she is a health care provider. I am buying a ticket in October to Thailand. I have lived on and off in Thailand for almost twenty years. Initially it was all fun. Alcohol. drugs, and ladies. Now at the age of 65, I lost interest so much so that I don't like drinking even. Only weed keeps me high which is not legal in FL. I feel married people are lucky. I have a daughter in Thailand who will go to the university next year and I am ready to take care of her expenses still she graduates. Her mom is OK and we are good friends and she has her own income but she plans to move to Issan next year when my daughter goes to the university. I simply cannot live in Issan. I am planning to relocate to Koh Samui that has better air quality than anywhere else in Thailand. I also need to buy a health insurance in Thailand. In the last twenty years I have visited more than fifty countries . So, there is no desire to travel anymore also except a trip to China in the next couple of years. Any suggestions to kill time (not going to bars everyday) to get rid of boredom? Is Koh Samui a nice place to live? I have been to Koh Samui once ten years ago. I don't like Phuket. I like beaches.

Status of Cannabis Shops in Pattaya
Knight Rider replied to Knight Rider's topic in Thailand Cannabis Forum
Would you please post the online shop's link. Thanks. -
How does one show proof of income. Is it ACH deposit to an account (e.g. from Social Security or a pension fund). I get $3400 ACH deposit every other Friday to my Ally Savings account from my 401(K) held at Fidelity. I also have $30,000 deposit in my Welathfront savings account. I will use the 30K savings account to avoid confusion. I am still debating if I apply form my Social Security this year or wait one more year.

Is the strict enforcement of medical certificate in cannabis shops now in effect? If so, how easy it is to get one?

Has anybody gotten their Non-O retirement visa from Chicago consular office based on their SS (Government pension). I am asking for three month Non-O visa. Not the yearly extension that is obtained in side Thailand. I let me extension expire last July and I won't be able to enter Thailand before October. Wondering if I could get my Non-O retirement visa based on SS (government pension). If not, can I get one showing 800K in my US bank for the three month Non-O visa that is used to extend one year inside Thailand. I repeat again, asking for three month Non-O visa using either SS letter or 800K in the US bank from Chicago US consular office. Not Looking for one year extension and the detailed process about how to get it. I sold my Jomtian condo last year and came to the US after I got tired of living in Thailand on retirement extensions for 15 years. Now I am bored again in the US. Planning to go to Thailand and live there at least a few more years.

They may confiscate your things. They once tried to confiscate my prescription medication that I bought in Thailand but luckily I had a doctor's prescription. -

In Trump's era, they are questioning more and more people if you have an active YouTube political channel that talks against Trump's policies or an immigration lawyer -

The US entry did not have passport stamps since early 2020. The IO only enters electronic I-94 in their system. Now, the electronic I-94 are generated from facial scan in a selected few airports and will be widely available in most airports by the end of 2025. -
I am outside Thailand and keep on reading that they are going to ban cannabis shops soon. Is it real or all smoke and mirrors? I am coming next year. I sold my condo and let my retirement extension expires. Planning to visit Thailand once a year for no more than a couple of months only. Twenty years of Thailand life since I was 40 years old was a good one but now as I have aged, I wanted to stay in the US only.
