  1. Not even Hitler couldn't put it more succinctly himself.
  2. A prerogative that Russia and China also claim for themselves.
  3. I don't think Russia or China are going to go out of their way about this. In fact, it won't admit to it, but they probably approve of it because it endorses the notion that major Nations are entitled to have spheres of influence where they can violate international law with impunity.
  4. CNN team witnesses multiple explosions in Venezuela’s capital Caracas Smoke raises at La Carlota airport after explosions and low-flying aircraft were heard in Caracas, Venezuela on January 3, 2026. Smoke raises at La Carlota airport after ... Caracas — A CNN team witnessed several explosions early Saturday in Caracas, and reported that some areas of the city were without electricity. The first blast was recorded at approximately 1.50am local time (0.50aET). “One was so strong, my window was shaking after it,” CNNE correspondent Osmary Hernandez said. https://edition.cnn.com/2026/01/03/americas/venezuela-explosions-intl-hnk
  5. The primary goal of Obamacare was to insure Americans who couldn't afford health insurance. It reduced that number by 50%. It would have reduced it by more if States like Texas and Florida had agreed to the Medicaid provisions.
  6. And both programs are deeply hated by the vast majority of theAmerican people? They want to cast off the chains imposed by Social Security and Medicare? They have repeatedly voted to elect senators and members of the House who share your views but somehow when they gain office these elected officials radically change their minds?
  7. So, according to you, the issue isn't the war, but how Trump personally was treated by Putin and Zelenskyy? After all, how do the issues raised by the first major land war (or is that Special Military Operation?) in Europe compare in importance to how much or little respect Trump was allegedly show by Putin vs. Zelenskyy? You have raised an excellent point.
  8. He said if Iran kills demonstrators the US would rescue them. Maybe what he means is that he would give them all refugee status? After all, now that he's breaking his America First promises, why not take this additional step?
  9. Except that Trump campaigned on the slogan of America First and not launching foreign military ventures. Not so long ago MAGA was denouncing getting involved in the internal affairs of other countries. Now they're applauding the Neocon-in-Chief,
  10. It's a subsidy. It's an interference in the free market. You don't have a problem with that? According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, this subsidy costs the US$ 230 to 250 billion a year.
  11. What's the taxation rate on the employer benefit of health insurance?
  12. Well it could have been worse. He could have said something even more horrible like there should be an economic boycott of Israel or that Israel is an apartheid state. Now that would be unforgivable.
  13. So relinquishing revenue doesn't count? Is that what you're claiming?
  14. Only if you don't include subsidies for employer provided health Care.
  15. It cut the percentage of uninsured Americans by half. And it's still a lot cheaper than employer provided healthcare which is highly subsidized.
  16. Why does "quality health Care" cost so much more in the United States than in other developed Nations yet it has worse outcomes?
  17. It's funny how the headlines everywhere, not just here, focus on the fact that Mamdani revoked various executive orders issued by Eric Adams that addressed Israel. In fact, Mamdanirepealed all executive orders by Adams dating from the time he was indicted.
  18. Bad metaphor. It isn't that the majority of Americans don't blame Democrats for Obamacare. They actually believe it's a plus.
  19. What? Can you find one Democratic rep or senator who is opposed to the extension? The only Republicans house members you'll find who support the extension are from swing districts. And Senators from electorally competitive states.
  20. An electoral disaster for the Republicans: Millions of Republicans on Obamacare want enhanced subsidies extended. Most Hill Republicans don’t GOP lawmakers are deeply divided over whether to extend the enhanced Affordable Care Act premium subsidies, but millions of Republicans enrolled in Obamacare plans have a clear message for them — don’t let the beefed-up subsidies lapse. Some 72% of Republican enrollees — and the same share of MAGA supporters with Obamacare coverage — favor extending the more generous assistance, which is set to lapse at year’s end, according to a new poll from KFF, a nonpartisan health policy research group. The same is true of 95% of Democratic enrollees and 84% of independents https://www.cnn.com/2025/12/04/politics/obamacare-trump-subsidies-poll
  21. John Adams also imposed religious tests for state government. So, Irish Americans don't mix well? Italian Americans don't mix well? Polish Americans don't mix well? When these folks immigrated to the states there were lots of people unhappy about it. At the time, the notion of these people wasn't that America was a Christian nation. But that it was a Protestant nation. And that Catholics would owe their first allegiance to the Pope. The aptly named No Nothing party rose on the strength of its opposition to Irish Catholics. As for current situation. Interracial marriage is sharply on the rise. Most Americans, apart probably from yourself and like minded folks, have no problem with interracial marriage: U.S. Approval of Interracial Marriage at New High of 94% Approval was at just 4% in 1958, when Gallup first polled on the question The racial gap in approval of interracial marriage has nearly closed Age and regional gaps in approval have also shrunk https://news.gallup.com/poll/354638/approval-interracial-marriage-new-high.aspx#:~:text=WASHINGTON%2C%20D.C.%20%2D%2D%20Ninety%2Dfour,asked%20the%20question%20in%201958.
  22. I should add that I can't say that I blame you. Clearly, his statement is nuts.
  23. That's a particularly inept attempt at deflection. It's clear you have nothing to say in defense of what Trump actually said. Namely, that if the Iranian government kills peaceful protesters the United States of America will come to their rescue.
  24. Stand by them? Did you read what he actually wrote? He said that if Iran “violently kills peaceful protesters, which is their custom, the United States of America will come to their rescue,” So, how exactly will Trump rescue these protesters? And if Iran does kill some protesters and Trump doesn't rescue them, what kind of message will that send?
