That's a particularly inept attempt at deflection. It's clear you have nothing to say in defense of what Trump actually said. Namely, that if the Iranian government kills peaceful protesters the United States of America will come to their rescue.

Stand by them? Did you read what he actually wrote? He said that if Iran “violently kills peaceful protesters, which is their custom, the United States of America will come to their rescue,” So, how exactly will Trump rescue these protesters? And if Iran does kill some protesters and Trump doesn't rescue them, what kind of message will that send?

And that essential nature was considered irrelevant by most of the Founding Fathers. Maybe you can find some evidence where Madison or Jefferson or George Washington claimed that the essential nature of the USA was Christian? And while there was racial discrimination, is there any evidence of religious discrimination? If a white man decided to follow Islam, would he lose his citizenship? It's not about the Government? So what positions of power are Muslims holding that pose a threat to the USA?
