The Justice Department is investigating whether some Trump administration officials improperly shared information about its mortgage-fraud investigation into Sen. Adam Schiff (D, Calif.), according to a document and people familiar with the matter. The new inquiry is examining in particular the actions of Federal Housing Finance Agency director Bill Pulte and people working for him and Ed Martin, a Trump ally and Justice Department official whose job has included pursuing mortgage-fraud investigations into Trump opponents, the people said.
