Visa Runs Limited to 2 Under New Thailand Immigration Measures
I had a friend message the biggest visa run company in Phuket, KBV and they say can do more than 2 each year. I wasn't sure if he could make my wedding in April as he already did 2 visa runs. So definitely can do more than 2

Visa Runs Limited to 2 Under New Thailand Immigration Measures
The lady told us at Wang Prachan could come again if we need but told us not to try to extend, the thing is I'm getting married in April but the 30 day extension would help a lot. We called Hatyai immigration and they told us could definitely do one 30 day extension. But last time they changed their mind and put a cancelled stamp in my passport:). So I wouldn't be certain. Did u try to extend at Hatyai? Also my fiance has the immigration ladies line at the border and in early April if you like we could message her to find out if more than 2 for certain. Some "safe entry services" say every airport in Thailand but not absolutely sure Hatyai

Visa Runs Limited to 2 Under New Thailand Immigration Measures
They are definitely opened for visa runs. They don't care about DTV. 2,000 baht a pop. At least 500 people each day, a million baht a day, they won't be stopping them anytime soon, ha

Visa Runs Limited to 2 Under New Thailand Immigration Measures
All visa exempt. The border only does visa exempt at Wang Prachah as it's closed on the Malaysian side to traffic. They are purely opened for visa runs. Nobody could come with a tourist visa as they all come from Thailand

Wang Prachan/Wang Kelian. The Malaysian side is closed to road traffic while they rebuild the road. That side has been closed since late November. However they allow visa runs and local residents to cross. I have no idea whatsoever about the other crossings, only Pedang Besar definitely opened but no same day visa runs allowed there

Also should add. They had a list of nationalities not accepted anymore to do Visa runs. Such as Israel, Russia, Myanmar, Cambodia. Also the border was only open for visa runners. Due to landslides no cars allowed cross to Malaysia. They purely opened for visa runs.

Visa Runs Limited to 2 Under New Thailand Immigration Measures
I think everyone got a 60 day visa exempt. I didn't see any people on DTV or other visa. I guess they were cracking down in November but not anymore. They are saying no limit for border runs on the visa run sites too. Even the lady at border told my fiance could do again if we need. But I definitely don't recommend it especially if you're planning to live here long term like me. We have an agent ready to assist us in April when we get married and hopefully I never have to do it again.

Visa Runs Limited to 2 Under New Thailand Immigration Measures
I'm getting married in April and did my second visa run of the year yesterday to get me to there. Absolutely no issues whatsoever and told unlimited once again. Even the visa run agencies are posting that they are unlimited. Definitely not 2 a year. Also there were people with huge overstays in the queue in front of me who still got 60 days. One guy 49 days overstay, paid his 20,000 and back on the van after signing some forms. ha. https://www.facebook.com/samuivisarun/

Only 2 Visa Exempts Per Year is Fake News?
We discussed this with immigration officer at Wang Prachan. Basically there are no limits on air, just guidelines to be more strict. At land borders 2 per year unless good reason. If you're from one of the countries like Israel, Russia, Myanmar or Cambodia then 2 per year maximum by land. She told us as I'm not from one of those countries could do more than 2 land borders as long as I promise not to go to immigration office and try to extend and not use visa run agency, as I guess they get in trouble. There is no 157 day per year rule either.

New rules issued for visa extensions and visa-exempt entries
Yes easy enough from Hatyai, 90 minutes each way but taxis 1,500 return too. So 3,500 total.

New rules issued for visa extensions and visa-exempt entries
Roughly how much did u pay out of interest? I got quoted 3,500 from one agency and another 6,500. In the end I went to Wang Prachan and paid 2,000. The Muslim immigration lady at the border told my fiance it is possible to do more than 2 land border runs if we do it alone and agree not to try to extend:). As long as it doesn't draw attention, basically. However, we should be married by the end of February and not need to.

New rules issued for visa extensions and visa-exempt entries
The embassy has already expedited this according to them. They just say blame the "Department of foreign affairs" in Ireland. Like it's nothing to do with them. There's was no option when we paid to pay extra. My fiance calls them non stop and the earliest possible is January but most likely February.

Yes 4 months minimum too. I have no idea why that is. I asked them to expedite it too but they don't give any clear answers.

New rules issued for visa extensions and visa-exempt entries
Our 30 day extension got rejected last Wednesday after being told the day previous we would get it. However, our landlady made contact with someone she knows at immigration here and we have to go back this week to try once again. They stamped my passport until February 3, then changed their mind and cancelled it. It will be very interesting to see. This time I'm bringing a flight out and all our documents from our "freedom to marry" application.

New rules issued for visa extensions and visa-exempt entries
It's unlucky Irish citizens need visa for Vietnam. Also going back to my home country would look better. We contacted our landlady in the morning to say I might possibly be leaving on Christmas Day and showed her my "cancelled stamp". She is messaging her friend at immigration here to try and see what can be done. But it's a long shot. Waiting to hear back before final decision on plans. They were so close yesterday to giving us the stamp and even at the end he tried his boss again. Cheers

New rules issued for visa extensions and visa-exempt entries
Thanks for all you're advice Jack and everyone. Looking at every option. Even the though the lady at border said she would give 60 days, who knows what might happen when we arrive to the border. I was thinking maybe I fly home to Ireland on Christmas Day as flights very reasonable that day. Then apply for a tourist visa in Ireland in February and come back on March 1 to get married. It will give my fiance time with her family over new year and to recover after her surgery. The only big concern I have is that "cancelled stamp" yesterday on my passport. Like even applying for the tourist visa at home. They want to see the last page on my passport when I apply. Will they reject me over the stamp yesterday? The immigration officials told me not to worry yesterday as it just says cancelled not denied.

New rules issued for visa extensions and visa-exempt entries
Thanks. I am under 50. Applied for freedom to marry since November again. 4 month waiting list with my embassy, but they estimate January or early February. Have a few options to buy time until then. Tourist visa in Malaysia, safe entry service too. Phatthalung said they will give 30 day extension but must stay hotel there one night previous for tm30. Highly doubt I would take that chance again:). Also we were given the number of the female immigration officer at a border checkpoint here. My fiance called her and she will give us 60 days on January 4 if we need.

New rules issued for visa extensions and visa-exempt entries
Yea I know both of you got it as they were giving me mine too. They were even about to take my photo when I guess head office refused. They offered me 7 days but told me it wouldn't look good on my passport.

New rules issued for visa extensions and visa-exempt entries
I always did the right thing. Also arrived on tourist visas. Not one day overstay. Maximum stay each year a few months. Unfortunately this year my fiance got sick and is still undergoing outpatient treatment. I never abused the system. Unfortunately my fiance was not fit to fly to Bangkok under doctors advice to attend the embassy in June. I am from Ireland, respectable career, dressed nice, polite. Yesterday they told us we would get 30 days. Today they also told us the same. Just unlucky that the Head office in Bangkok refused. They even stamped my passport today to February 3. The immigration officers were extremely nice and told me that it would not affect future stays. Even gave us phone number of border immigration for January to make sure we get 60 days extra. Just unlucky that head office denied. If we don't get "freedom to marry" appointment we will go to border to extend. My main point of writing the post was to help other people avoid disappointment

New rules issued for visa extensions and visa-exempt entries
Also the craziest thing is they were giving me the 30 day extension and looked my passport and said "yes 30 days". Then 90 minutes later the very nice man came over apologizing and said unfortunately can only give 7 days but he advised me not to take it as it wouldn't look good on my passport. We also showed our " Freedom to Marry" application from November. My stamp expires on 4 January and on my passport it says 3 February extension and in red writing cancelled. Ha. Possibly it didn't get approved at head office. They couldn't have been nicer and refunded my money and advised me to get a tourist visa in Malaysia. Another thing, yesterday when we were bringing relatives to the airport we stopped at the immigration centre and I asked if I could come back tomorrow and get 30 days. He looked at my passport, said "yes", gave me the forms and today I was first as they opened at 8:30am. But, they couldn't have been nicer and refunded me my money. My fiance is from Phatthalung and already they said can come for 30 days but I am highly skeptical. It was my 3rd visa exemption this year but I arrived in Thailand in April with the intention of getting married as we had applied from the Irish embassy. However in May my girlfriend had a serious health issue and was in hospital here for 7 weeks. I applied for the freedom to marry in November and still waiting.

New rules issued for visa extensions and visa-exempt entries
Yes definitely and I was aware. Just that we live in Hatyai and the poster got extension and we thought had a chance. I don't doubt the posters story but they definitely not giving anymore extensions

New rules issued for visa extensions and visa-exempt entries
I'm just leaving Hatyai immigration. They told us that they don't offer anyone extensions after land border crossings. I showed them the post and they said nobody would have got visa extension from a border run. Absolutely gutted.

New rules issued for visa extensions and visa-exempt entries
Ah cheers. My girlfriend also called Phatthalung immigration and they said we could go there. My visa exempt expires January 4 so will probably go on Christmas Day as we are collecting family at airport. 🫸
