  1. Those are bulletin board threads. The OP mentions 'writing essays' on politics. My first social media presence was as director NGO/501c3 during the Twitter 140 character max days. And per Hamlet: Brevity is the soul of wit. I also used to post on legal websites where you submit your post and it has to be approved by a moderator before it gets posted online. Therein my objective was to post sufficiently succinctly so that someone would finish reading my post before they realized that they wished they hadn't read it.
  2. From The Wizard of Oz script (1939): Dorothy Gale: I thought you said she was dead. (Good Witch) Glinda: That was her sister, the Wicked Witch of the East. This is the Wicked Witch of the West and she's worse than the other one was.
  3. Great. Have a nice day.
  4. OK. But President Trump on Saturday told reporters, without citing evidence, that he believes a deadly strike on a girls' primary school in southern Iran last weekend was "done by Iran." "In my opinion, based on what I've seen, that was done by Iran…We think it was done by Iran, because they're very inaccurate with their munitions, they have no accuracy whatsoever, it was done by Iran," Mr. Trump said aboard Air Force One after attending the dignified transfer of six U.S. soldiers who were killed in an Iranian strike in Kuwait on March 1. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-says-he-believes-bombing-of-iranian-girls-school-was-done-by-iran
  5. Both an official with the education ministry in Minab and the mother who spoke to NBC News said the school facility was built on a Revolutionary Guard base. The base closed around 15 years ago, and all military personnel were moved, although the school stayed open, they said. Satellite imagery from 2011 appears to show the building as part of the same compound, before it was fenced off later. https://www.nbcnews.com/world/iran/know-strike-school-iran-death-toll-rises-rcna261266 Or as the SNL version of Hegseth said: This isn't war. It's a situantionship.
  6. How do you know that -- based on your last tour of water desalination facilities in the Mideast?
  7. My input: 5. In factual areas such as news forums and current affairs topics member content that is claimed or portrayed as a fact should be supported by a link to a relevant reputable source. https://aseannow.com/forum_rules/
  8. Yes. To get to the truth it will take balance and understanding.
  9. AI only makes sense if you know what was the query.
  10. Evidence suggests the deadly blast at an Iranian school was likely a US airstrike Satellite images and videos of an Iranian girls school damaged by large explosions at the start of a U.S.-Israeli airstrike campaign targeting the Islamic Republic indicate a targeted attack from the air hit the building March 6, 2026 Washington Post via https://archive.ph/L4nsI#selection-241.0-300.0 Sean Moorhouse, a former British Army officer and explosive ordnance disposal expert, said the available satellite imagery was insufficient to determine exactly what type of munitions were used in the strike, but he said the visible damage was consistent with what would be expected with impacts from multiple 2,000-pound (900-kilogram) high-explosive warheads. He said the multiple precise impacts would undercut any suggestion that a malfunctioning Iranian missile hit the school. N.R. Jenzen-Jones, the director of Armament Research Services, said the school and Guard compound were targeted with “multiple simultaneous or near-simultaneous strikes.” “If indeed it is confirmed that an American or Israeli strike hit the school, there are several potential points of failure in the targeting cycle,” Jenzen-Jones said. “We might be seeing an intelligence failure, likely rather early in the process, which misidentified the target or failed to update a targeting list following the building’s change in use.”
  11. NB Trump says of course it wasn't a US military mistake. When asked aboard Air Force One Saturday whether the U.S. conducted the Feb. 28 strike, Trump said, without evidence, “No, in my opinion, based on what I’ve seen, that was done by Iran.” https://www.politico.com/news/2026/03/07/trump-iran-girls-school-strike-00818163
  12. The school was located approx. 200-300 meters from the navy installation. A 'precision' airstrike can have a CEP circle accuracy of less than 10 meters. Maybe the Dept. of WAR let their satellite photo subscription lapse.
  13. Reports from NYTimes and elsewhere suggests it was the other way around -- the school structures were once part of the Iran naval apparatus: Analysis suggests US was responsible for deadly strike on Iranian elementary school Mar 6, 2026 -- Videos geolocated by CNN show that the school was struck at or around the same time as the naval base, with one showing smoke billowing both from the IRGC facility and the school building. Satellite imagery from 2013 showed that the school and the IRGC base were once part of the same compound. But images from 2016 revealed that a fence had been erected to separate the school from the rest of the base, and that a separate entrance to the school had been built. In December 2025, imagery showed dozens of people in the school’s courtyard, apparently playing in what appears to be a court for ballgames. https://edition.cnn.com/2026/03/06/middleeast/iran-minab-elementary-school-investigation-us-strike-intl
  14. Alfred, Lord Tennyson “Forward, the Light Brigade!” Was there a man dismayed? Not though the soldier knew Someone had blundered.
  15. As noted in OP, if there was one image to show this woman is PR tone-deaf, this is it (wearing her -- as reported -- $50,000 Rolex):
  16. With apologies to Stephen Sondheim, the official White House version for u-know-hoo I am swell, I am great I have got the whole world on a plate! Starting here, WINNING now Honey, everything's coming up roses!
  17. NY Times headline this morning: Iran War Poses Test for Justice Dept. After Firings Deplete National Security Ranks Firings, resignations and diversions to the president’s priorities have left elite counterterrorism and counterintelligence units stretched thin, current and former officials say. And this as posted on NY Times Facebook
  18. Sec. of WAR Hegseth reminds me of (the fictional) Joe Isuzu and not just for looks:
  19. This from the things-are-going-well department: Did the United States airstrike a girls' elementary school and kill 175 people? Karoline Leavitt: Not that we know of, Sean. And the Department of War is investigating this matter, and I would just tell you very strongly, the United States of America does not target civilians. Unlike the rogue Iranian regime that targets civilians, that kills children, that has killed thousands of their own people in the past several weeks and uses propaganda quite effectively. And unfortunately, many people in this room have fallen for that propaganda. So, I would caution you from pointing the finger at the United States of America when it comes to targeting civilians because that's not something that these armed forces do. https://rollcall.com/factbase/trump/transcript/donald-trump-press-conference-briefing-karoline-leavitt-march-4-2026/ In other words, well we sure THOUGHT it was a military installation. _________________________________ Washington Post headline this AM: Evidence suggests the deadly blast at an Iranian school was likely a US airstrike Satellite images and videos of an Iranian girls school damaged by large explosions at the start of a U.S.-Israeli airstrike campaign targeting the Islamic Republic indicate a targeted attack from the air hit the building
  20. This just in -- a message to those who read the Farsi version of Truth Social: https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/116182551337254643
  21. This is her look when not properly obscured behind a lectern:
  22. The legality of war under US law depends on not saying there is war. NY Times headline this morn: Republicans Toil to Avoid Saying ‘War’ as Iran Conflict Widens Mission? Hostilities? Don’t call it a war, say G.O.P. lawmakers grappling with the political and legal challenges of the operation in the Middle East.
  23. She first gained national attention by holding the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally with 500,000 participants 2020 and 2021 during the height of covid
  24. I don't know what if anything he will say. Just that if he wants to post anything he feels is important: He does it in bold big type.
