Nice tip! I was aware of using a strop for disposables (to an extent you're just cleaning the blades). I didn't put 2 & 2 together and think of using it on my Feather DEs.

I now have a use for that old leather belt, and an excuse not to look for replacement screws for the buckle. Daren't use my hand. Eventually I'd strop the wrong way, flay myself, immediately get soap in the wound, etc.

For double-edged blades, glass or ceramic is preferred over a flat leather strop. Holding the blade flat (slightly curved, actually) against the inside side of a large drinking glass and running it back and forth gets the job done nicely. They used to sell these back in the day, but frugality during the war years had people just using their pickle crocks and large drinking glasses.

  2. I guess I'm pretty fortunate as we eat ALL of these recommended foods every week. Love 'Kimchee-buta,' (sliced pork with Kimchee, gochujang, garlic and ginger. 5 minutes to make and healthy to eat!)

    Olives with breakfast every morning,

Saurkraut with lunch 2-3 times a week,

Raspberries and Greek yogurt for dessert at dinner once or twice a week,

avocados with lunch 2-3 times a week,

    pumpkin seeds as snacks,

Asparagus with Shrimp at least once a week.

Hell, I just might live forever!  🙂

  3. I often use Evoo for cooking, alternating with lard or tallow depending upon the dish I'm cooking.

I also eat a handful of Kalamata olives EVERY DAY. Olive oil doesn't get any more virgin than that.
I eat them because I like them, and because when following a Keto Lifestyle, we need more fats and oils for energy, and olives create a lot.

To date (and I've been doing this daily for the past six years,) I have not noticed any changes in my skin, my weight has stayed at 72.5 kilo (give or take a kilo or two) for the past 6 years. (Yes, I weigh myself every Saturday morning.)
Evoo IS a very healthy fat. But it's not a miracle worker. We need a balanced diet for good health, and a spoonful of Evoo isn't going to do it. It won't hurt. Just won't help by itself.

  4. I have noticed a trend here in Chiang Mai of opening HUGE new 7-Elevens all around town! Several even have parking lots!  One of them downtown even has parking space for 6 cars!

    He just signed it.

The ink's not even dry and the lefty idiots are already claiming it hasn't resulted in significant savings.

    Signed it? So what?
How many Impeachment orders have been signed already? He's still here.
How many Felony convictions have been signed already? He's still here.
How many egregious lies promising this or that already?   He's still making them.
    Nothing has changed.

I’m pretty sure it’s still in operation, try giving it a call and save yourself.

Well! That certainly explains why foreign countries are setting up toll-free numbers that Americans can now call to reach Suicide Prevention Hotlines.

But perhaps it's just to cover the overflow of suicide calls anticipated because of the current administration's policies.

A 'Reverse Osmosis' system will remove all the minerals from the water. But that can be a problem for drinking water... The body needs minerals so you'll have to supplement for better health.

You can buy (and have installed for free) an under-counter system for under 7,000 Baht in most home centers.

If you can afford it, the best way to hydrate the body is not only relying on simple filtered water.

Maybe the best way to stay hydrated is a combination of filtered water with bottled mineral water, coconut water (which contains electrolytes), fruit juice, watermelon ...

That's the best way to add minerals to the diet, but many people don't eat enough variety of fruit to cover all the bases.

Leafy green veggies, avocados, coconuts, etc. are all great sources of minerals, but are not necessarily 'complete' mineral sources.
These days, you can find mineral supplements in every drug store or health food shop. Even Decathlon sells packets of minerals for electrolyte replacement.

You get all the  minerals you need from the food you eat. :coffee1:

... unless you eat a processed-food diet, fast-food diet, or just not an adventurous eater, so you only eat the same things every day.

You seem to have an obsessive mental issue about MAGA-have you tried the suicide hotline?

He can't try the suicide prevention hotline... wasn't it shut down by Trump, or was it Musk? Along with many other health and human services that our taxes paid for. We paid for them because we needed them. We wanted them. They worked for us. Now they are gone.

  10. I slept with a CPAP machine for about 3 years. It helped tremendously, and I was finally getting a restful night's sleep.

Then someone suggested I lose weight. Hey, I WAS obese. No question about it, I was carrying around an extra 25 kilo.

I did some research and decided to try the Keto Diet. It worked. It worked quickly. I dropped that extra 25 kilo in less than a year, and stopped needing and sold the CPAP machine.

That was six years ago. I kept the weight off and haven't needed any sleep-aids since.
