  1. where this will be different is they want everyone living in your residence, so that will include (possibly) domestic staff etc, so will be a much truer record than the ID card or tabien baan system. It helps with many things in administration (and down the line possibly in genealogical research!). I've completed mine (in English) but it won't submit though - it seems to say there is something else to be entered but there isn't..... (I've completed the drop-down menus to add more for each person).
  2. It's now called TIESC (formerly One Stop Service). Also here is LTR and regular visa service for BOI etc. To get to it you take the lift to the 5th floor in the Parade building, and then an escalator near Cafe Amazon up to the 6th floor (well signposted). There are lots of food places in here on the 5th floor. Also attached QR code to apply for an appointment in advance. Service was a bit slow - it took over 2 hours before we could submit documents after having arrived shortly after 9am.
  3. I'm at the new One Bangkok 'One Stop Service' for my annual work permit renewal. I actually need to change the book as there's some water damage to it - and they won't accept ID photos if you are wearing glasses/spectacles! Seems to be a rule change....or they're just being stricter. Also, you can't show your teeth at all in the photos (so no extreme smiles in the Land of Smiles!)
  4. The FCCT's Dateline Bangkok podcast has just released an episode that discusses this and other LGBTQ+ issues
  5. this interview all about the DTV visa with Mr. Naruchai Ninnad, deputy director-general of the Department of Consular Affairs at Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs may be of interest:
  6. I would like to find a zero-sugar electrolyte too. In the UK you can buy these, and I stock up when I'm back - a potential business opportunity for someone to re-sell in Thailand? https://appliednutrition.uk/products/bodyfuel-electrolyte-tablets (you can buy them at B&M where they are around £3 for a tube)
  7. for background, I filmed this story on the Lopburi monkeys for C4 news in 2020 https://www.channel4.com/news/how-the-covid-19-pandemic-gave-lop-buris-monkey-population-newfound-freedom
  8. I think they only need 1 photo (they're larger than the 'normal' size) but bring a couple. Police stations like Thonglor in Bangkok don't need you to make an appointment although they don't start until about 9.30-10am
  9. I went to French Polynesia including Bora Bora for work - I was filming a TV feature there for Swiss TV at the end of 2015. It is one of the most amazing places on earth (that I have been to yet) - such clear sea water, great hotels, and wildlife. I wasn't paying for it though, so that made a lot of difference. Had to fly Bangkok>Tokyo>Tahiti>Bora Bora so it's quite a journey. We also went to the Marquesas Islands, Tahiti and Tetiaro (Marlon Brando Island). Here's a link to the programme (although it's in German language) The turtles and the salt production (and other bits) were on Bora Bora
  10. It's actually not that difficult - I got PR with my (Thai) wife assisting following Camerata's excellent Guide on here. There's no actual need to have a law firm or company to help. Plus it saves a lot of money.
