Aha, the old Thai "soon", we all know what that means.
Soon.
Not long.
Later.
After food.

The World Health Organization has announced that dogs cannot contract Covid-19.
Dogs previously held in quarantine can now be released.
To be clear,
WHO let the dogs out.

A health certificate is like a Thai guarantee it is valid untill you leave the shop, or in this case, the doctors.
Anything can happen in 72 hours.

One swallow doth not a summer make (Shakespeare as I recall).
Porridge is lumpy as is custard (well it is the way I make it anyway), one instance of Thais acting responsibly does not negate all the times they act like numpties, though it should certainly be noted and encouraged. A journey of 1000 miles begins with one step but let's not assume it's more then a single small step.
Valid point, well made.
But I am, and always have been, a glass half full person.

We have a similar situation in our village near Sakon Nakhon. There are no cases within the province so far, our nearest being in Nakhon Phanom, 90kms away. We have 9 returnees, all hunkered down in isolation and supplied with food donations from the village.
Our Phoo Ya Ban is a 'no nonsense' lady who keeps order and also keeps the village well informed. I'm actually very impressed by the way the whole community has responded. There've been no social gatherings and the one funeral (none covid related) was a very low key event.
They've got the message all right.
I have to agree, there are a lot of comments on TVF stating, without evidence that Thai people are irresponsible and would not follow the guidlines.
Great to see a post from someone with first hand experience that debunks those comments.
Regarding the Phoo Yai Ban being a "no nonsense" lady, it is the same where I live, I have, and will continue to do as she instructs as I have been married to her for the last 10 years.
I take my instructions from "her outdoors".
Stay safe.

I live in a small village in Buriram province. Currently I am at day 10 of a 14 day isolation. I have been informed that 18 people have returned to the village, in addition to me, all are currently in self isolation for a 14 day period.
The isolation is monotored by the village head and health care volunteers. Everyone, I am informed ia complying.

No confirmation of these numbers from TAT yet?
I will await their response as I only trust their information in relation to visitor numbers to Thailand.

And risking infection whilst waiting to do so.
Unless that is a stock photo.

I recently returned from a trip to Pattaya to Buriram. I have been under self isolation since 19 March.
Registered on the app and temp checked twice a day.
Bit bored, but when I look at the fantastic job being done by health care workers on the TV and all I have to do is sit on my <deleted> and do nothing, it puts it all into perspective.

Too late, these are arrivals in Buriram today. These are the numbers of those who have registered their arrival, the real numbers however.....

"The WHO, he said (Anutin), recommends four preventive measures, including frequent hand cleansing with soap or sanitizer, avoidance of facial contact with hands to prevent the virus accessing the body’s soft entrances (eyes, nose and mouth), social distancing and covering the mouth and nose with the sleeve or a tissue when sneezing or coughing."
WHAT NO MASK REQUIRED MINISTER ANUTIN?

I returned to Buriram yesterday from a 4 day trip to Pattaya.
I registered on "Buriram Healthy Passport". Subsequently I asked several questions regarding the requirement to self isolate, or not as the case may be.
I have yet to get a response!
So sitting at home wondering what to do.
