  1. Just set up a new company and need a new WP, so I decided to do a visa run but I am not sure if KL do issue?

My last visa run for a 3 months Non B visa was at Penang.....but I hate that long bus ride!!

    Or maybe Singapore???

Thanks in advance...I need some input SOON as my current visa expire 19th Feb! :o

  2. Well....if your girlfriend was deported from Japan due to her overstaying 4 years....she will probably not be able to get a visa for ANY country in the world....unless she hides the truth.....and lie....which means you have to lie too....BUT....the embassies have their ways to seek info....and if they find out that your gf was deported....bye bye visa.....
If she has been deported from Japan then there is almost certainly a record of that in her passport.

Last year on another board a poster was seeking advice about his girlfriend who was after a German visa. She, too, had been deported from Japan, and some people advised him to "lose" her passport and get a new one without the embarrassing stamp. Unfortunately he listened to this "advice." Naturally her deportation was on record with the Thai authorities, who flatly refused to believe she had merely lost the passport and have so far refused to issue her with a new one!

Past misdemeanours may make future applications difficult, but trying to hide them will make it impossible.

As for the principle of using agents; don't. Why pay an exorbitant fee for information which is obtainable for free on official sites and for advice which can be got from places like this? Certainly, if the agent suggests lying or trying to cover something up, walk away. Visa officers at all embassies are on the look out for inconsistencies from the applicant. The only way to ensure that your story is consistent is to tell the truth!

I agree.......partly.....but agents who know their business can actually save their clients a lot of time....the agents know the application procedure, they know all the forms to be filed, they know how to deal with the embassies.....in some cases clients cans ave up to 8 or 10 months! I am aware of people waiting 18 months for a US Fiancee visa....waiting time caused by missing and wrongfully filed docs and forms.... And of course not to forget those people who are unaware about ThaiVisa.com or too lazy to seek information by themselves.... :o

Of course it is not ethical to fabricate a story, but this company claims NO VISA NO MONEY.....and they charge a HEAVY fee....and do what it takes to prevent them to pay money back....they are SHARKS......money before honor.....with their 80,000 Baht pricing for a Fiancee Visa process, they can for sure afford to pay money back once in a while.....I guess they have a success rate around 50% for this kind of visas....compared to my own company, I have a success rate at 90%....and I NEVER submit false information....but I have a 100% money-back-guarantee in case I fail.....take it or leave it....and my price is only 1/4 of this company.

BUT.....I always recommend my clients to apply by themselves in case they know the procedure and what docs is needed....and save the agent's fee....most visa application can be made by the clients themselves....no need for a visa agent to file the forms and inform about the docs needed, cos in most cases the embassies will supply this information free of charge....but in other cases the embassies are quite un friendly to advise visa applicants....and they do not always reveal to the public what docs is actually needed.....some of the info they want to know is considered confidential....to prevent false information....

I can only say: BE AWARE of the sharks that overcharge you and claim a success rate at 100%....it is IMPOSSIBLE! Why on earth pay 80,000 Baht for visa assistance to any company? What can they do, that is worth this heavy fee? NOTHING! And.....you don't need a lawyer to assist you applying for a visa....everyone, like myself, who has the knowledge and the experience dealing with the embassies, can assist you applying for a visa.....no need to be a lawyer...this only means higher fees!

  4. Yep.....I already contacted my lawyer last week......and the letter is on its way to my ex-manager! Will file a complaint at the police station tomorrow......better be safe than sorry.....it's not a question about money for me....I can afford to pay him 3 months salary, but it's the ethics! If I don't pay him the 3 months salary the Labour Department can fine me up to 200,000 Baht. Well.....I am considering paying the fine.........and f*** up with my ex-manager! :o

  5. Just outta curiosity, how long were you sending the managers sister to the immigration office and how much do you think you paid all up? Let us know what he said when you told him about this also. I mean, what reason did he give?

Appx. 5 times and each time he charges me 750 Baht. Told me it was the immigration fee for renewing my visa. Also told me he paid them money under the table......but I actually also the very first time paid 10,000 Baht...for the 1 eyar visa...even though I only got 30 days....30 days....in 5 months. Finally I got 6 months, and the fee was 1,500 Bht....but I enver got any receipts..."money undetr the table has no receipts" was his reply to me when I asked for it, he he! :o So far I have paid around 20,000 Baht for my "1 year" visa including the 4,000 Baht for the 90-days reporting..... :D

  6. I was at Patong last night when the warning came through the speakers. Many people got scared....and headed for the highlands.....I am running a business in Phuket and I am quite sure that if these warnings continue then Phuket will loose most of their tourists. But OK once a month is okay, but if it continues every week....then the tourists will find another destination!

As for me.....I relocate as soon as possible....I don't feel good about Phuket anymore! :o

  7. Have you been leaving Thailand every 30 days?  If so there is no requirement for 90 day reporting as each TM.6 arrival card starts a new cycle.

What is a six month visa?  Do you mean you received a two entry visa from a Consulate that is valid for six months?  In that case first entry would be 90 days and you would be required to leave country so no report required.

Or have you been granted a six month extension of stay by immigration?  Have never heard of it but that means nothing. :D   If so and it does not require an exit of Thailand you would have been required to report your address after 90 days in Thailand.

I have been staying in Thailand without leaving the country. I went to Penang and got a 3 months non immigrant B visa. After 3 months the immigration in Phuket renewed it for 30 days. I actually applied for a 1 eyar visa, but they wanted to make sure I paid my tax. So they renewed it every 30 days untill they gave me a 6 months visa. For each 30 days renewal I paid 750 Baht.

I HAVE NOW FIRED MY MANAGER!!!

Reason is that I went to the immigration with my passport and asked for advice.

They filed a 90 days report and asked me to come back 90 days later. NO FEE!

I asked the immigration officer how much to pay, and he showed me 2 fingers. I thought he ment 2,000 Baht. So I said no....and showed him 1 finger. He said OK, and I gave him 1,000 Baht. He looked at me as if I was stupid (maybe I am :D ) and said 100 Baht.

WOW....I was surpriced, so I tipped him 600 Baht :D

Now I fired my manager, and he require a 3 months salary as severance pay. Adn of course I deny to pay him anything! So now he threaten me with the Labor Office....

Hope the Labor Office accept my explanation and doesn't fine me! :o

But fortunately I asked my manager to write down his explanation to me before I fired him. So I have evidence that he tried to take me for a ride. Should be reason enough to fire him without compensation!

I mean, the Labour Protection Law says that only an INNOCENT employee can require a severance pay. And my manager is for sure not innocent!

    Will keep you posted!

And thanks for all your comments! :D

  8. Thanks for the responses.....My manager tells me that the Immigration charges me 5,000 THB and his sister discount me at only 4,000 THB due to her "contacts"...The past 6 months I have been on 30 days visa and 30 days work permit....now I got a 6 months visa and 6 months work permit...expire 22nd November...so I am definitely not on "overstay".....unless I should have reported every 90 days during my 6 months 30 days visa? Renewed monthly by the Immigration!?

But seems I must consider my managers position in my company! :o

  9. I have a company in Phuket and my manager's sister takes care of my immigration matters. Now she want to charge me 4,000 THB for the 90 days reporting to the immigration. Is she trying to take me for a ride? She says the normal "price" from the immigration is 5,000 THB??? I thought it was free!

    Thanks for any responses!

  10. Hey guys :D

  11. WOnder why there is no other languages allowed in this Forum?

COuld attract a lot of more users!

Danish and German maybe? Or French? Should be easy to find native speaking Danes and Germans to work as moderators! :o

  12. It appears that $500US/month can rent quite the house on Phuket. Far superior to the $100US/month studios that seem much more common -- at least in BKK.

I plan on staying on Phuket for 2 years, and I could easily supplement any income I earn there with $500US/month out of my own pocket. I don't need a lap of luxury, however, I would like my residence to be comfortable and spacious based on American standards.

You can easily find a nice house for rent in Phuket including everything. * PM me for more details

  13. :o I plan to marry my Thai fiancee in April. I read US embassy post on things needed. Will someone that has gone through this process please explaine problems and the length of time required?

    For your information:

Registration of marriage in Thailand can only be done at a District Office ("amphur"), which is similar to a town hall in your country.

Please note that a marriage ceremony performed in a church, or in a mosque, or a ceremony at home with monks attending the wedding is not legally binding in Thailand, - and therefore not legally binding in your country either.

In order for a foreign citizen to register marriage in Thailand, the Thai authorities request that your embassy issue a certificate in English and in Thai, which confirms your name, nationality, passport number, issuing passport authority, address in your home country, employer, position, and salary. Furthermore, names and age of children from previous relationships, if any. And finally, names and addresses of 2 contact persons (references) in your home country, who are not family members.

When you return to your home country after having registered your marriage in Thailand, you must inform the municipality in which you live about your marriage.

    1. If you wish to marry in Thailand you should therefore contact the Embassy and bring the following original documents:

    • Passport

    • Health insurance card or other official documentation of your present address.

    • Salary statement (the latest) or similar documentation of your income, for instance your pension statement or your yearly salary statement from your home country’s tax authorities.

    • If you have previously been married, your divorce certificate. The certificate should be translated into Thai. Since the certificate must be legalised by the Embassy, we prefer that the translation is made by the Embassy or by a translation office recommended by the Embassy.

    • Names and addresses (references) of two persons you know in your home country, who are not your family.

    • Names and age of your children, if any.

    • Certificate from your home country-municipality concerning notification of marriage.

Under normal circumstances, it takes two working days for the Embassy to issue a certificate for registration of marriage in Thailand. You will be charged a fee for the Embassy's assistance.

Alternatively and in order to save time, you may find it more convenient to forward copies of the documents to the Embassy beforehand, in order that the certificate and any translations are ready when you arrive in Thailand. Please note, however, that you must present all the original documents when coming to the Embassy to pick up your certificate for registration of marriage in Thailand.

    2. You should bring the certificate to the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be verified as a true document issued by the your embassy. The address of the Ministry is:

    Legalisation Department of Consular Affairs

    Ministry of Foreign Affairs

    Chaeng Wattana Road

(close to the Communications Authority of Thailand)

    Bangkok

    Tel: 02 575 1056/58

    Fax: 02 575 1054

It usually takes a couple of days for the Ministry to verify a document. Please note that the Ministry will charge you a fee. Your embassy cannot assist you in having the certificate verified by the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Since May 2003 it has been possible for foreigners to forward by mail documents for legalization directly to the Royal Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Legalization Division.

    The procedure is as follows:

    1. Contact the Mr. Adulsak Chobchaoychat, Legalisation Division at 02-575-1056/58 for more information or details of documents needed especially regarding the legalization fee.

    2. Fill in a form “Application for Legalization”

    3. Enclose a copy of your passport or power of attorney.

    4. Enclose the document for legalization as well as 2 copies hereof.

    5. Enclose a money order paid in THB to Laksi Post Office + THB 40 for the expense of return express mail by EMS.

    6. State your telephone number and address in Thailand.

    7. The legalization process normally takes 2 working days.

    8. In case you do not have your own address in Thailand you can have the documents sent to your name + your embassy’s address.

    9. Forward the documents to: Mr. Adulsak Chobchaoychat, 123 Department of Consular Affairs, Legalization Division, Chaeng Watthana Rd., Laksi District, Bangkok 10210.

    3. When the certificate has been verified, you may register marriage at any District Office (amphur). The Embassy, however, usually recommends that you register marriage in Bangkok, or in another larger city, as the district offices in the cities are more familiar with the embassies' certificates. You do not need to make an appointment in advance with the district office.

The amphur will charge you a small fee for the registration of marriage. Please note that you might also have to pay a small fee to the two marriage witnesses, if they are provided by the amphur.

    4. After your marriage you can go back to your embassy to have your Thai marriage certificate translated into English.

    Good luck :D

  14. Thanks guys for the votes and comments! :o

Most of you vote "Nope! I can find a bargirl myself".....

This should indicate that I and my fellow Dating Agency owners should reject the bar girls as members!

If I were to date a lady, I would for sure not pay any membership fees just to date a bar girl! It's okay if you're jsut looking for some fun....but if I considered to marry her - no bar girls, thanks!

I have been in the dating and visa business for 6 years and I have seen everything.....99% of the guys who want a visa for their girlfriend has met her in a bar. Appx. 80% of these relationships last less than 1 year!

    ( Any comments are welcome :D )

For me, I don't have any bar girls on my site, 100% sure!

I get membership applications from many bar girls, but I reject them!

Maybe not fair, as some of the bar girls are actually nice and sincere and honest only searching for true love and friendship....but after 6 years in this game I don't wanna take the change on behalf of my male clients!

But I keep the bar girls pics and profiles.....in case I get a male client who actually WANTS a bargirl!

All the ladies on my site are genuine with good educations, good jobs and no connections to the bar scenes. You are welcome to view it at phuketdeafeagle.com under Dating.

  15. Hmmmmm...... So you are from Denmark? Me too! Du er velkommen til at PM mig på dansk, hvis det er nemmere for dig??

Anyway.....my advice is NEVER invest in anything in another name than your own!!

Register a company and let your girlfriend/wife be your major shareholder, but remember to assure that YOU are the MD and has the power in the company if anything goes wrong!

Then you can apply for a 1 year multiple entry business visa from Denmark (non-immigrant B visa) or apply in Penang (but you will only get a 3 months visa from Penang, not a multiple entry! They are hard to deal with!)

Then you apply for a work permit valid for 3 months...it takes around 4 weeks to get a WP. And it is only valid untill your visa expire. Just before it expire you can apply for a 1 year visa and a 1 year WP.

To qualify for a 1 year visa you need 4 Thai employees ( can be on the papers only) and a paid up capital at 2 million Baht. No need to have these 2 million Baht in cash, you can register the money as paid up capital using a lawyer.

Also you need a minimum salary at 50,000 Baht from your company.....no need to pay yourself that amount but you must pay the tax as IF you earned the money. Tax is around 5,000 Baht/month.

IF you don't qualify for a 1 year visa, then you can do the visa runs every 3 months to Penang.

    Hope this will help you!

I am willing to assit you setting up a company and apply for a work permit etc.

I live and work in Phuket myself!
