    Husband Wanted

    A lonely woman, aged 70, decided that it was time to get married.

    She put an ad in the local paper that read -

    HUSBAND WANTED!

    MUST BE IN MY AGE GROUP (70's),

    MUST NOT BEAT ME,

    MUST NOT RUN AROUND ON ME,

    AND MUST STILL BE GOOD IN BED!

    ALL APPLICANTS PLEASE APPLY IN PERSON.

    On the second day she heard the doorbell. Much to her dismay, she

    opened the door to see a gray-haired gentleman sitting in a wheel

    chair. He had no arms or legs.

    The old woman said, "You're not really asking me to consider

    you, are you? Just look at you....you have no legs!"

    The old man smiled, "Therefore I cannot run around on you!"

    She snorted. "You don't have any hands either!"

    Again the old man smiled, "Nor can I beat you!"

    She raised an eyebrow and gazed intently.

    Are you still good in bed?"

    With that, the old gentleman leaned back, beamed a big

    broad smile and said, "I rang the doorbell didn't I?" :D:D:o

    Noisy Phuket?

    Phuket noisy??? I don't think so......but maybe it's because I am deaf? :D

    Compared to BKK Phuket IS for sure a Paradise.....even if someone was stupid enough to offer me 10 million Baht to relocate to BKK I would refuse!

    I live in Phuket Town, and here it's very quiet and peaceful even though I live near Big C and Lotus.

    I can imagine living in Patong near the night life scenes can be quit noisy.....so simply stay away from these areas!

    Opening A Company Bank Account

    Just returned from my 2nd meeting with my Kasikorn Bank.

    Seems they are not able to explain in proper English what kind of docs they need from me to open a company bank account.

    At the first meeting they asked me to "apply by letter"....so I did...

    But the "application" was sort of wrong. And I couldn't get any explanation! :o

    The bank officer jsut showed me an application in Thai language....but I canot read Thai!

    So does anyone know what this "application letter" must contain???

    No probs with Kasikorn/Thai Farmers bank.....untill NOW! :o

    Just returned from the bank after applying for a company bank account. This was my 2nd visit with the purpose to open a company bank account.

    First time I was told by the bank to "write a letter" that I wanted to open a bank account. So I did....but this time I was told that the letter was "wrong". Needed some ????? contents or things like that! So still no bank account. And no English info from the bank WHAT they want me to write in this f...... letter!

    Anyone in this forum has a clue about that? :D

    One of my clients from the US filed the Petition for the US Immigration for his Thai wife back in June 2003. She just got her visa this Christmas 2004! :o 18 months! But he had some problems filing the forms, and also his wife doesn't speak English....she had lots of problems at the US Embassy in BKK!

    But expect appx. 4 months from the date the US embassy in BKK receive the Package 3 from USA till your gf is granted a visa. The waiting time for the Petition in the US to be accepted is around 3 months. So total waiting time might be around 7 months.

    Why buy a brand new car???? :D Unless you are sure to keep it for many years!

    I mean......at the moment you close the deal you've already lost at least 100,000 THB :o

    Go for a 2nd hand, 1 or 2 years old.....and save a lot of money!

    Also consider the insurance when you buy.....I intended to buy a Chevy Colorado with down payment and finance..... ( I am a poor guy :D ) but they asked for 33,000 Baht for a 1 year first class insurance.....instead I bought a 2nd hand Volvo sedan included 8 months first class insurance....when I renew the insurance the price is only 15,000 THB/year! :D

    Tourists Return To The Beaches And Bars Of Phuket

    I hope more people adopt this mentality.  But I'm not sure it will be universal amongst all potential tourists.

    I'll agree with that, now let's get the Scandinavians back as well, the only problem there is that the big tuor operators won't start the flights again before the Danish foreign ministry withdraws their silly warning that Phuket is dangerous.

    MyTravel that covers the Scandinavian market will continue their flights to Phuket from 1st February! They estimate 1,000 new visitors to Phuket each week! Great! :o

    P.S. I have one small landplot I would like to sell, it is only a 5.5 meter wide and 28 meter deep, but it is located near Dons in Rawai and will sell it for 300,000 (what I bought it for 3 years ago). Spend 600,000 building a two story shop house type and you have a house close to Nai Harn beach and all the restaurants and bars for around 1 mil.

    Well, at this time of the year it rains a lot...but only from late afternoon....

    It's safer to swim at Friendship Beach in Chalong Bay...it's around 20 min. from Patong and Phuket Town ( or City now!) :o
