I too can only walk short distances (10 meters) without getting breathless and dizzy and legs start to wobble. I live in a rural village but had to go to Bangkok for some medical issues (cancer). Wound up staying 4 months in Bangkok. At the hospital everyday except the weekends. The taxi would drop up off at the entrance to the hospital and I needed to hop onto a wheelchair first thing. My wife pushed me to all my appointments on different floors, different buildings, etc. Everyday for 4 months. After several weeks she had to stop because her arms were getting tired and sore. At the hotel every night I was confined to the room. My friend told about his friend who just purchased an electric wheenchair. He said it was solid and very well constructed albeit a bit expensive (52,000). I checked it out online and saw only good reviews. Called and ordered one to be delivered to my hotel. I upgraded to the next level (54,000) because that model had "ramp assist", kind of like a turbo booster if it stalls going uphill. It also had variable speeds. It takes time getting used to steering with a tiny lever as the controller. It had 2 batteries with quick charge, solid rubber wheels, comfortable but a bit on the heavy side (not easy to transport in a vehicle. It did fold.
Anyway, I found it to be a great purchase. Here in my farming community it is capable of getting through the dirt roads and gravel. I am happy with it. Also bought a walker so that I could strengthen my legs.
