  1. I just booked and paid to fly BNE (Brisbane, Australia) -> BKK -> KKC (Khon Kaen Thailand, arriving 09 April this year, flying back KKC -> BKK -> PER (Perth, Australia) on Thai Airways on 21 April 2007. All up 35,000 THB ($AUD1295).

    Two quick questions, please.

    1. Will I land at the NEW BKK Airport (BKK) or Don Muang (DMK) ?

    2. Will I have to pay the new 700 THB departure tax or is it included in my ticket price?

    Peter

More than likley you will go to the new Airport. It will take several months to open Don Meong. ( Rome was not built in 1 day)

    2) since 01.februari 2007 700 THB included in ticket price.

  2. So, my girlfriend, in another of her strokes of genius tried to flush uneaten potatoes down the toilet. Needless to say it got badly backed up :o . The building handymen spent a good two hours with a plunger and long hose, to no avail.

I went to Lotus and bought some drano (expensive stuff!) but when I got home, realized the small warning on the back saying not to use for toilets (maybe not good for porcelain?).

What product should I buy to fix this most annoying problem?

    Thnx for any help

    Sodium Bicarbonate

  3. This is another 'I-have-nothing-to-do-tonight-except-clean-the-dog-so-I-will-post-another-brainless-question-on-Thaivisa' post!

This question is aimed at those of us living in Thailand.

Considering all the recent problems/bad news re Thailand, (visa changes, coup, airport woes, company rules, proposed nuclear reactor etc etc):

If (before you came to LoS), you had known that Thailand would be experiencing these recent problems (and others), would that news have affected your decision to come to Thailand in the first place?

Hindsight is a wonderful thing :o Had I known before that all Thai women were very beautiful, but that all of them were also slighlty barmy (!), I might have chosen a different destination.

Had I known that Thailand would have a coup, have a new airport full of cracks, then my decision to come here would not have been swayed.

    How about you?

    Simon

I have what i wished here.

  4. Just wondering when would be the best time and where would be the best place to convert THB to USD in Bangkok?

Would now be a good time to buy USD or do you think the USD will fall lower to the THB?

Where is a good place in BKK that gives a good rate?

    Thanks in advance.................

Any bank in BKK,anyway what is a good rate?

  5. Hi

  6. What idiots would fly to Thailand only to eat mostly crappy french food-- and NOT eat the best cuisine in the world?

French cuisine is considered to be one of the world's most refined and elegant stlyes of cooking but it does not mean YOU have to like it,but a lot of other people does(it does not mean i am agree with the stupid prices they ask for this "culinair"w.e.)
