  1. Qualtrough you make a good and valid point, well done.

    As do you too EricD.

And lets' try to stick to the real issue.

The initial complaint was in effect that BP refused to treat the victim, and put him in the back of a pick up truck and he was sent to another hospital and died on the way. This now appears to be incorrect if what the hospital say is true.

What we need to know from medical experts, like trauma doctors etc, is whether assuming what BP say is accurate, whether the treatment and actions they took were reasonable and/or non negligent in all the circiumstances.

So what do u real doctors say, who have no vested interest in this case?

Easy to criticise BP and we have all heard horror stories about that place.

But we are concerned with this particular tragedy.

  2. Many of us reacted with outrage about this case.

The initial report was that the deceased was in effect refused treatment for financial reasons and sent elsewhere wrongly.

BP have now made a statement saying he was properly treated etc and sent elsewhere for what they claim to be justifiable reasons and nothing to do with money(see their statement in an earlier post).

So where and what is the truth?

Appears the initial complaint was based on hearsay(ie what others were told)

Nevertheless the reasoning and excuses by BP may appear to some to be feeble and coming far too late, and just too good to be true.

What we need is an independent investigation like thru a newspaper that is not in the pocket of interested parties to discover the truth; but as we all know in this town that is highly unlikely.

  3. Agree with the buriramboy posting I scored the fight 15-13 to Mayweather, and thought the fight commentators on UBC were not good and way off the mark.

Also I think it is a bit odd that De La Hoya was also promoting the fight; conflict of interest?

  4. This is an absolute disgrace and I too add my sincerest condolences.

If a public protest is being held the date, time, and place of it ought to be publicised and also details given here well in advance.

Can we also have a spokesperson from Bangkok Pattaya to give their side, if they have one?

And the likes of the Pattaya Mail, Pattaya City News etc etc as well as the Bangkok Post and Nation and all TV stations and other media outlets really ought to give this matter priority reporting and investigation.

  5. I am considering going to Phuket(will stay Patong) from Pattaya to avoid the water throwing which is scheduled from about 13th-19th April here.

Can anyone tell me when does the water throwing actually cease in Phuket, or does it go on for the same dates as in Pattaya?

    Many thanks in advance.

  6. Yes well it appears correct that ESPN/Star have lost the TV rights from next season onwards for English football:

    http://www.bangkokpost.com/Business/25Jan2007_biz37.php

This means that we will have the appalling local presentation of football, like they did in the World Cup etc etc

They know nothing about either football nor how to present it.

The only reason I renewed my subs to cable was the live English football, so this will be the last year for me.

At least with ESPN they are mainly football people, some who have played at Premiership or similar level, who present the show and have an idea what they are doing and talking about; the new regime are and will be totally clueless and expect the matches themselves to be interrupted frequently with commercials.

Bit like asking Europeans to present a show on Thai cooking....eh?!
