In the past couple of days, we have filled in and submitted online, my wifes UK family visit visa application. My wife has gone in today to one of the places of work that she frequents, only to find the shop shut down, and with no prior warning. We have included this place of work as one of her references on the application form.
My question is, now that we have filled in the online form and submitted, can we edit the application or do we have to do it all again. Alternatively, can we handwrite on the printed out copy of the application in the "additional information" section, that this has happened since submitting the application?.

Thank you all.

You didn't bigyin, but nuakmuaynina did. They must have relaxed the rules regarding folders. Their reasoning was because they don't fit into the zip up plastic bags the put your paperwork in.

No ringbinders or folders!! We submitted an application in Jan 2014 in a lovely, well presented ringbinder, only to be told when submitting the application to take all the paperwork out, as the Embassy were not accepting binders and folders.

Can anyone advise on how far in advance of your intended visit, you can fill in the online visa application and then once filled in and printed, how far in advance to your intended travel can you book an appointment to submit the application?

This is Nongkhai's "talad kohn dern" or also known as "walking street". It takes place every Saturday. The music is performed by musicians from Chiang Mai. There's nothing significant re the hats. They are just the local "older generation" who like to dance at this weekly event. The guy you see dancing, dances alone every week.

Just came across this interesting article in todays Metro.

Seems to be the case highlander403. We collect all evidence of travel for our applications, and have kept her boarding card with EVA for her departure from the UK and also her boarding card for Thai AIrways showing her internal flight dates. They will be submitted with the next application.

Perhaps I didn't look close enough Saying that, I dont get exit and entry stamps in my passsport when I leave and enter back into the UK.
-
I've never seen an automatic gate at suvarnabhumi for Thai nationals...even in the past couple of months. Passport control does have "Thai only" lanes, but no gates. Either way, we have proof using her boarding cards as evidence.

7by7, you mentioned Thai exit and entry stamps in her passport...she has neither? Why would that be? although we do have her boarding card from EVA and her boarding card from Thai Airways for her internal flight showing return flight dates.

Thanks again. I was aware of the A1 speaking test from fbr's recent post, but that is not an avenue we will be pursuing. Its simply a holiday as I cant be out there with her as often as I would like.

Thanks 7by7. Do you think the length of time being requested is cause for concern? We can shorten the duration of stay. The reason we are considering the length of stay is because of my workload this year not allowing me to visit her as often as I do. Her english also needs to improve before we consider the spouse visa option.

My girlfriend and I applied for a visitor visa for her to visit the UK, back in January 2014. We were successful in her application and she visited the UK in May, returning to Thailand in July 2014. I then visited Thailand in November 2014 returning to the UK in February 2015. We are now married.
My current workload means that I am unable to visit Thailand as often as I would like, therefore we would like her to visit the UK again in August 2015 for a period of 4 months so that she can experience the "autumnal season". I then plan to return to Thailand with her at Christmas.
We provided a very thorough and detailed application the first time, and will be submitting the same documentation as well as additional documents to support the 2nd application.
Additional documents include:
- Photos, reservations, flight details etc. for her first visit to the UK
- Photos, reservations, flight details etc. for my recent visit to Thailand
- Wedding certificate ( English translation to do)
- Name change to her ID card, passport and Tabien Baan (has changed to my surname)
- Employment changes as I am now a Ltd company
Are there any other documents I should provide that I have possibly forgotten about, and what are others experiences in applying for a 2nd visitor visa?

Great post fbf and most helpful. This has really helped me out in answering a lot of similar questions I was going to post. Good luck to your fiancée with the test.

Just flew EVA from BKK to LHW which now flys across the Black Sea and over Romania and Hungary towards London. Still the same flight time.

only worms!? must look harder next time. sounds like it would be the big viet joint. not brave enough to eat there. too hi-so for destitute homeless no-face farang me.
It wasn't the Vietnam restaurant. There are numerous well established restaurants along the river with Thai and western customers. The restaurant this took place at is well known and about 6km outside of Nongkhai on the way to Tha Bo.

Who are the "some" that will want to see it certified?

I am hearing conflicting stories on whether my Thai marriage certificate when translated into English, has to be certified in Bangkok by the MOFA. Is this true? My first marriage was translated into English by a bureau in Bangkok and was accepted by the authorities in the UK, so what has changed?

I recently used Express Translation Service, just around the corner from the embassy. Very professional and helpful and the owner spoke good English. Paid 1900 baht for them to do the translation of the "affirmation" and that included them going to the MOFA using the express service. I had spoken to several bureaus before using this one, and they all pretty much charge the same.
