  1. In this situation, if I were the reds I would probably provoke the "armed" forces until severe injury was inevitable and wait for the cameras to pitch up.

At the end of it all, knowing that the authorities are probably only armed with tear gas means that with enough gas masks all hel_l can break loose in 10 minutes.

The tolerance shown before Xmas was always going to prove to be rod against the current governments back. They got their bed now they have to sleep in it.

sounds like an intelligent plan - :o Is it the reds or the yellows that get paid to attend? I can never remember.

  2. I bought a security wallet with incidents like this in mind.. It has a loop on it which your belt passes through, and then tucks inside your trousers. Feels like a normal wallet, but would take brute force to steal.

I had a Lady boy try to steal from me while I was walking late at night,I kicked it's arse and then it went to the police. The police found me and I showed them my police ID,they asked me if I wanted it in jail.I told them it is up to them,I didn't care because it lost. They took it away,I imagine to kick it's arse again. The nerve to try to steal from me and go to the police. :o:D:D

This sounds more like you didn't pay the ladyboy so the Police were involved :D:D come on tell the truth!

    :o:D

Do you have your keys on a chain as well and your mittens tied to your jacket? - not forgetting your address sown into your clothes in case you get lost!!

    :D:D

  4. By the way, "SANTIKA" means absolutely nothing in Spanish. Look it up.

"Beautiful of Nature" in Spanish would be "belleza de la naturaleza" or perhaps "belleza de la tierra"

    "santika" is not even close.

"san" or "santa" in Spanish means "holy" but thats it. ( My 15 years living in Mexico gives me the background to say this)

What is Spanish for "irrelevant" ?

  5. Theres nothing like letting your kids play with something that 'might be' dangerous & then when something goes wrong you can jump up and down on TV! Good on ya Dingdongrb....you get my vote for both 'looney of the year 2008' PLUS 'Thai Visa Father of the Year 2008'.

    :o

Do you want some lead based paint to "brighten up" the kids play area or maybe some asbestos sheets for them to play with ?

  6. with those conspiracy pics you can also find something to relate the people in the pics to something. One of my Korean colleagues doesn't like the Eagles because her Christian friends said they were evil but couldn't figure out why. It's because one of the people on the album cover is supposedly Satan. I knew some people whose parents wouldn't let them listen to them. The world could do without Hotel California.

I'm glad that I found out here that the performers I know are safe. I looked on their myspaces and they haven't logged in for days so I was worried.

This was all on topic and my feelings and semi-related concerns are all serious.

What are you talking about ????? Many People lost their lives less than 24 hours ago in Bangkok and you are talking about Satan on a record cover.

safe performers - <deleted> is wrong with you?

  7. Santika ( spainish language ) = Beauty of the nature

It's NOT a Spanish word, neither Thai.

    It sounds Indonesian to me.

    R.I.P.

Quote from the Santika club website:

"The name "Santika" was derived from a Spanish word "San-ti-ka" which mean "Beautiful of Nature. Santika pub&restaurant is inspired by nature ,and position it self to be Thailand's first entertainment outlet that innovatively blends the comfort of nature with the excitement of the Bangkok nightlife.Lastly, Santika has the best vision that goes straight to cath up the customer's expextation, Which is "The Future of Entertainment.""

    Who cares?

just what I was thinking - condolences to all the Families and Friends on this sad day

  8. I fear this scene will be replayed many times during 2009, as export firms go belly up or just close their doors do to narrowing profit margins and growing political instability :o

Very true - I think many firms will just "run away" and leave workers hanging, the situation here in Thailand is set to become tougher as the Financial crisis slowly reaches here - I think 14% of Thai GDP is in the Automotive industry and that is in for a severe time in the coming months! Hopefully the Baht will weaken so I can afford a Beer!!

  9. Ok i'll start off by quoting a post from a while back then i'll work my way through the questions i have:
to marry a Thai Lady you need a "freedom to marry" (in whatever form it takes) from your embassy, which needs translation to Thai, then you head to the Amphur and get the job done.

I used a translation service which was a lot easier than doing the job myself.

What documents from you do the embassy require for this? I mean, surely they don't know if you are married or not? Or is that information on their computer? Do you need to bring some document from your country to prove you arn't married already and give this to the embassy? I am in the UK and will be marrying in July and so i need all the info i can get to prepare it and take it with me when i go in July,

Also i have been reading conflicting post regarding what documents i need to bring.... Can someone who is a uk citizen and who has recently married a Thai lady please tell me all the documents i need to bring, So far i found i need:

    1) Affirmation of freedom to marry,

    2) Passport,

    3) wage slip (Latest one),

Should i also bring a bank statement to prove my address?

Also on the affirmation it asks for 2 references and some places i read up on say it can't be a family member, But other places i read say it can be a family member? So does anyone know if i can actually use someone like my mother and father as a reference or should i just use 2 friends names and addresses?

    Thanks.

    :o

    sanity certificate :D

  10. We [extended family] in the export industry have been suffering for the last 2 years at least with the strong baht and failing dollar with customers not understanding that prices cannot be the same at all times. Or: the ones running the show still charging the same prices, cutting away any and all profit and leaving the company in a state of almost negative cash flow.

So this recession, that everyone could see coming since last March, is just a continuation of the same downhill path. (And for real companies, PADs dealings at the airport is an annoyance but not a deal-breaker or anything major in the grand of things. But I know it's nice to put equal blame on them for political reasons.)

Around my office all the places are still open but - thank God - there is far less [british and other European] tourists out since a while back, so much that it's almost comfortable going out. And the customer-hostess ratio is finally at a stage where one can be very-very selective, like with a good wine. :o

We all like a happy ending.

I've been cutting my prices for a few years now and chafing under worse exchange rates, and increased costs.

The problem is you can charge higher prices for good stuff, but Thai goods are inferior and outdated.

Quality is getting worse if anything.

I'm not sure that anything other than a 25% adjustment in the value of the bt would be any good.

    Things are quite ruinous.

Correct Thai stuff is crap at best, it would be more cost effective to have Chimps at work as Bananas are very cheap here and Chimps are less likely to have family issues such as sick Buffalo etc. Maybe the Chimps could also get a decent candidate for Government? - just a thought :D

  11. this is a ridiculous article. i smoked pot for years with no adverse effects whatsoever, in fact it helped me quite a lot with anxiety. it has never stopped me progrssing in my career, social relationships, or other areas. i also stopped very easily (in thailand). i know very successful, well adjusted people who smoke regularly. i know a couple of freaks who smoke too, but it's my feeling that they had personality disorders to begin with and weed just exacerbates them. some people can't handle it, just like some people can't hold their alcohol. but overall, marijuana is a benign drug, if done in moderation.

<deleted> - you are a moron, you smoked some weed and are ok so it doesn't have any ill effects on people? That is a ridiculous statement wise up - hope you end up in prison.

    :o
